there's actually a really easy way to track e-mail. embed a 1x1 pixel transparent gif at the bottom of the e-mail, store the image on your webserver and collect the hit information. In fact, you could even take the person's e-mail address and send it as a GET variable to the "image" which could also contain a script used to log/harvest e-mail addresses... of course, most bright people would set up their e-mail client not to allow embedded images to be downloaded from outside sites. and the particularly savvy probably don't even allow html in their e-mail at all. then again, we are talking about jackasses that propagate chain letters...

I had my wisdom teeth out in may, all four. bottom two had to be smashed and chiseled out in pieces, needless to say I elected not to be concious for that. when I came to I was still feeling the demerol, got driven home, took a vicodin ES and passed out, woke up 12 hours later, put in new gauss, felt a little sore but better over all, passed back out for another 12 hours, woke up, felt fine. my lower jaw was swollen for a couple days and I was on antibiotics for a week, but the pain was never bad. I wouldn't do it again if I had the choice, but I was pretty lucky.

well using units/structures intended for defense as offensive weapons isn't really what I'm talking about. And yes, I loved annoying the crap out of people with mine laying vehicles. I believe this falls under my horde of zombies clause.

I hope "the best offense is a good defense" isn't the right way to say it, because it doesn't make any sense. If your intention is to conquer your opponent (to have a good offense) it is completely impossible to do so by being defensive. Unless your opponent is a large horde of zombie people that need to eat human brains to survive... then you can just build a giant wall and wait for them to die. The point of the quote is, if you can keep your opponent back on his heels cause you constantly progress, you don't even really need to have a defense.

I think most people you meet a few times or more are generally going to be nice to you if you are to them. So in this regard, sure, people are good. On the other hand, I think most people dehumanize those they aren't familiar with. "everyone else is a bunch of drones." and so the same basic respects can be harder to come by.

You answered your own question. It costs them virtually nothing to send the spam. All they need is one sucker to be profitable. That's not even true anymore. Nobody even has to buy anything for the people sending the spam to make money. The advertisers are not the people making the products. The people sending the spam don't give a rats ass how pissed off you get or how uninterested you are in the messages content, they've already made their buck. The spammer can go to any small company and guarantee "descrete advertising of products to x number of people that won't get filtered out", take the company's money, and send you their ad along with a bunch of random crap to squeeze it by your filter. Sure, this will piss off everyone who gets the message something fierce, but then the spamhouse gets to turn around to their client and say things like, "well, it takes time for a number of new products to really work their way into common use." and "there's no other way to reach so many potential customers at such a low cost."

every so often ask him to do something that requires he get up from his chair. At some point I can pretty much guarantee he will forget to take the headphones off before getting up out of his chair. The resulting, "oh sure just a- oww! crap!" will be worth your trouble.

in the last 12 months I've done around 150 jumps, about 90 since January.
