  1. Don't know but when I was in boot camp for the Army in 1987 there were different standards and I thought it was all to easy. Now I understand it is even easier...
  2. Oh but there are! For instance, I can't balance a checkbook, hold down a real job or get a stain out but my wife seems to be able to do all of those things!
  3. What Mike said. If you can do it then you can do it. Same standards for all. And beyond the standards, what would happen to a front line infantry unit of men that had a few chicks in it once the lead started flying including all the drama that happens in mixed company leading up to that point? One of my father’s details in that Viet place was to get body parts out of a pile and sorta put together the pieces that looked like they went together till there was enough in each body bag to make up a human. Ever seen the opening sequence of combat in Private Ryan? I know it is just a movie, but could you imagine if 2 or 3 out of every 10 soldiers were women? Since I was taught to treat and regard women like I do my mother I guess that is why I feel the way I do - I certainly would not want my mom in combat and sorting out pieces of dead soldiers, but I am proud that my father served his country and did the duties he was asked to perform without complaining. Also, I am proud that my mother served her country and did the duties she was asked to perform. Different duties, same goal, a stronger future for our country. Since I have not been in an infantry unit, not to mention one in combat I am not really qualified to give an opinion, hell I was in the Corps of Engineers and we fraternized quite a lot (guys and gals). The opinions of those who have that experience I have read about are that it is a recipe for disaster. And I read this stuff on the internet so it must be true. Anybody out there know first hand or is it all gonna be just speculation by a bunch of skydivers who don’t really know the answer but rather just finding a way to pass the time till they once again get a green light? 4. My mother is a recovering Catholic...
  5. Are we talking front line combat?
  6. Couldn't have said it better myself. Yup, all the fussing and fighting is straight up our buttholes. It's really too bad we are such combative creatures. But since we are, bomb the shit out of em (back to buttholes)...
  7. I have experienced military life but never in combat, from what I understand from others who have: Mixing the genders in combat creates tension and disruption in foxholes. Maybe if there were women only units?
  8. That's your plan for victory?? Sigh. OK. The women in combat comment is just common sense - The annihlation through means of overwhelming bombing has worked in the anals of history. Just looked at how it helped Japan.
  9. Then, time to draw the curtains, load the bong and puf puf puf my way to contentedness. Gotta light?
  10. Pay per view would make $50 off of me...
  11. Stop being so soft! Do you think the allies would have won WW2 if that war were being run that way this one is? People are bitching because we have lost a couple thousand soldiers and that is just ridiculous! Tons more were lost on any given morning in previous wars. Stop putting women in combat. Annihilate the Sunni triangle with bombs, then rebuild. We should have sent bulldozers into Baghdad instead of tanks. (The Sunni Triangle refers to a densely-populated region of Iraq to the northwest of Baghdad that is inhabited mostly by Sunni Muslim Arabs. The roughly triangular area's corners are usually said to lie near Baghdad, Ramadi and Tikrit.) There are a lot of US bashing by brits and British bashing by yanks - lets stand together unified as one. I for one have a lot of respect for the abilities of the British military and all the British civilians I have met are great people – both countries deserve one another’s respect – hell, Canada too! - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…
  12. One on top and one on bottom - then we cah switch it up and have one on each side...
  13. This thread had gotten needlessly messianic. "Broomfundel" The chances of finding out what really is going on in the universe are so absurdly remote, I say just hang the sense of it and keep yourself occupied. Perfect Cup Size

I like a medium sized cup, that way my coffee dosent get cold before I finish it.
  15. Try using a piece of carpet to assist in getting all the air out, I use an old inflatable mattress, works great. Also when you go from S-fold to getting your D-bag around the canopy, try using your knees to help hold the shape of the folded canopy. Hard to explain over the internet. Learning how to pack is well worth the investment of time. If you pay for 100 pack jobs, that money could go towards quite a few jump tickets and if you pay for 1000 pack jobs, well that is enough money to buy a new rig! Keep practicing! Packing only sucks untill you get good at it, then it still sucks, but for a much smaller amount of time... - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…
  16. Your lines are a little messy, with a little practice it will get cleaner and reduce the chances of tension knots. One thing I do notice from your pictures is the tail (the piece behind the rubber band) it too long which is inviting a bag lock to provide some additional excitement. Some here seem to believe that having a larger D-Bag is the solution - if this were the case why wouldn’t the manufacturer have figured this out? Chances are if you have a D-bag and canopy that are made for each other and it is not fitting then you just need to practice a little more. One last thing, I would not allow my dog that close to my stuff - for some reason dogs love to tinkle on canopies when our backs are turned. - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…
  17. I probably have my own opinion formulated concerning the last line stow but am looking for others opinions: How long or short the last line stow should be? What potential complications can arise from: Leaving the last stow too long? Leaving the last stow too short? - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…

  19. Yup... There was a time when he would have his back put against a wall and shot. -
  20. Well, according to the libbos, if you smoke pot you are funding terrorists and will end up homeless and pregnant. - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…
  21. My dad did 1 tour in Korea and 2 in Viet Nam. If they called his dilapidated 74 year old ass into service after being retired for 30+ years I am quite certain he would ask, how high? I have heard stories of individuals committing suicide because they could not go into combat duty during WW2 – I read it on the internet so it must be true. All this is neither here nor there but perhaps patriotism is not what is once was in this day and age of liberalism. - Mykel AFF-I10 Skydiving Priorities: 1) Open Canopy. 2) Land Safely. 3) Don’t hurt anyone. 4) Repeat…
