  1. Several times in -30 or colder in Northern Minnesota. At least once -100 with wind chill, although I don't think I was stupid enough to go out in it. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  2. It rolled for quite a while here down South of LAX. I now hear that there were 3 fatalities... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  3. When I was inexperienced and stupid, I got on a plane for a hop-n-pop. They thought they'd get 3500 feet. When we hit the clouds, it was about 1800 feet, and I only had an "A" license. I went because everyone else was going. The sub-terminal opening seemed to take forever. Not a bright move on my part. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  5. I'm easy, BUT I'M NOT CHEAP! There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  6. Punch Drunk Love. BY FAR the worst movie I've ever seen. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  7. O.K. folks, back on track. Way back near the beginning of this thread, I described a tall blonde and a number of people were trying to help me figure out her name. HER PICTURE IS IN PARACHUTIST! Page 95 of the December Parachutist, the last photo on the page. She is standing in the back, and is the tallest one there. ANYONE KNOW HER NAME??? Thanks. There are battered women? 8. It is tough to name just one... I voted for Catherine Zeta-Jones, but I agree with an earlier poster that Brooke Burke ranks right up there too (especially if you've seen her Playboy Pics). After doing some internet searching of "the sexiest woman in the world", I'd add (in no particular order): Denise Richards, Anna Kournikova, Heidi Klum... There are battered women? 9. O.K., either DZ.commers are smarter than the average person, or they lie (or both). 96 percent of the people so far say they know the difference. So, what's you're story? Your pulling my leg, right? Yes, I know that's incorrect it should be: ...Youz pulling my leg... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  10. One of my many pet peeves is people that don't know the difference between "your" and "you're". I just saw a couple more incorrect uses today, so I thought I'd post this poll. So, do you know the difference? There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  11. That's good to hear. I didn't see the prior story, but it's good to see that she is the one standing up in front of the judge, and it's her time/money being used to pay for her mistakes. I don't like it when parents do/pay everything for their teenage kids. It doesn't teach the kid that they're responsible for their own actions. There are battered women? 12. Since my original post is a few pages back, the question was about who the very tall, thin blonde I'd jumped with at Elsinore a couple of times. I've seen Lew there, and the woman I'm thinking of is even taller than her. If I ever figure out who she is, I'll post a reply. There are battered women? 13. I've met Vanilla Sky Girl, so I can't use that one... One of my favorites, that I haven't met is a 6-foot (or taller) thin blonde that has jumped at Elsinore a couple of times. Maybe she's a regular at Perris. Anyone know who I'm talking about? She's probably in her late 20's or early 30's... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  14. It does sound interesting, but I don't think I'm ready to have all of my secret "moves" shown to the world. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  15. I can't recall any AFF 1 fatalities, although I'm sure there are some. You are relatively safe because you have 2 instructors holding on to you until deployment. Once you're open, you'll have the instructor(s) on the other end of a radio. That being said, I can say that the thing that will help you greatly in developing your freefall skills is to RELAX. I was tense, and a little flat (no arch) on one AFF jump, and I felt out of control. The next jump (a rejump of the prior), somehow I just relaxed and then felt incredibly stable. Things were easy after that. Good luck. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  16. First, line twists are usually easy to get out of. I've had twists so bad that my head was forced forward by the risers twisted up behind my head. The only difficulty I've heard of with line twists is on highly-loaded eliptical canopies. As far as flaring goes, it does take a while to get a feel for when to flare. I tended to flare too early also. Now I just wait until I think I've waited too long, and then do a nice smooth flare. Remember that you don't necessarily have to whip the brakes from zero to full brakes. Try a more gradual flare where you go into brakes more slowly. As you're flaring, keep watching the ground to determine if you need to speed up the flare, or slow it down. Just stick with it, and eventually it'll come to you. There are battered women? 18. I guess it's only a matter of time before most skydivers lose someone they knew in the sport. I've known 3 people that have died so far, but I wasn't close to any of them. Maybe this is a wakeup call that we should tell people we appreciate them BEFORE they're gone. We had an "appreciation day" at Elsinore a few years ago for our S&TA that had put a lot into the sport. We had a great time saying thanks to him, and he was really touched. At a minimum, maybe we should use this as an opportunity to thank someone that has made a difference to us in this sport. 19. I just wanted to try skydiving once. I loved that first jump so much, I stayed with it. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  20. Shortly after my 4-year check, mine started doing strange things, like not zeroing after a jump. I made on jump, and just prior to my next one, I decided to look at the window. Good thing I did. The display showed 2200 "up". It would have sucked to have a Cypres fire at 3000 feet. I sent it back, and they fixed it for free, but didn't tell me what was wrong. 21. Sure it's normal, but she likes the water too f*cking hot, so now I only use it as a form of foreplay. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  23. Ditto. I use the foam ones from the drugstore, so if I accidentally drop/lose one, no big deal. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  24. I think I had less than 20 in my first year. The DZ I started at was small, and in a good day, you'd get 2 jumps in. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  25. If I were you, I'd consider avoiding the Incidents forum for a while. I understand that there is great educational value in the posts there, but with your level of knowledge/experience, it's probably overwhelming. Get some more experience, and continue learning about your equipment. The more you learn, the safer you'll feel. Good luck. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
