  1. Different methods work for different people. In my case, unless there's considerable wind, I start to flare when I'm litterally scared that I've waited too long. I stand up 99 percent of my landings. Another thing to remember is you don't have to go immediately from full flight to full brakes. With different situations/wind conditions, a longer, slower flare will work better than a quick one. Again, it's mostly practice. Keep at it. There are battered women? 7. It is scheduled to go into effect November 24, 2003. The (some?) providers have stated that the moving of a number should complete in less than 2.5 hours after the request. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  13. I went through something similar on my training jumps. I would get to the ground, and the jumpmaster would ask me questions about the jump, and I didn't know. I agree that it's probably sensory overload. Once you're more comfortable in the air, your problem should go away. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  16. I always activate it, but in addtion, I now check that it's "zeroed" between jumps. On one particular jump, I happened to look at the display, and it read "2200 up". That would have sucked to have the Cypres fire at 3000 feet. I ultimately sent it back to the factory, and they fixed a defect. Bottom line, I check it before every jump. There are battered women? 17. I haven't done it LATELY, but in the past, I have done it a lot in the weeks following breakups. Most of the time both parties recoginize it for what it is -- temporary. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  18. I always read the incidents forum first, and I always read the "Incidents" in Parachutist first. Both reports are meant to be educational. Since you're just starting, and a little nervous, maybe you should skip that forum for a while. Once you're more familiar with the equipment and the sport, you'll see those reports for what they were meant to be: Education. There are battered women? 20. I'd say go to AFF. You'll get plenty of time under canopy after opening, and you'll get really freefall (which is the best part of skydiving, IMHO). Good luck! There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  22. I too think the aircraft noise is something you should worry more about. You're sitting in the plane for 15-20 minutes or more (depending on the aircracft, etc.) You won't want to wear your helmet the whole time. I have an Oxygn full-face helmet, and to tell you the thruth, I've never paid attention to the freefall noise. The Protec's are definitly noisier because they're more vented, and don't have a full face shield. Get good earplugs and wear them for the ride up, and even in freefall if you feel comfortable with it. I take mine out for freefall, because I want to hear if someone is yelling at me under canopy. 23. Yep, same thing happened to me. The cool thing about it is most people have that same feeling for years. After 750 jumps, I can't wait to make the next one. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  24. That's a tough one. I had similar problems on my first release dive. Somehow, on the next one, I just told myself to relax, and I felt rock solid and steady. It was amazing how "easy" it felt then. Maybe you should make relaxing the priority on your jump, not necessarily finishing the TLO's. Don't feel like you have to rush to complete all of your maneuvers. If you don't finish them, but you learned to relax, you've still made great progress. Good luck. There are battered women?
