  1. Kashi Go Lean crunch. It's fiberlicious... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  2. I'll be seeing it this weekend. I have a feeling it will be hard to sit through. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  3. Oxygn A3. I like the full face. It's warmer in the winter, and has protected me from a couple of kicks on exit. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  4. My goal is to walk away from every skydive, so I have no plans to go to 1.4. I'm at about 1.2 right now, and don't plan to go much smaller. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  5. The only jump (in 800+ jumps) that I've ever been scared is my first jump on my own pack job. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  6. Hmm. As of now, I'm with the majority: Skydiving! Don't tell my fiancee'... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  7. Skydiving was something that I wanted to try ONCE. I had just broken up with a girlfriend, and I saw an ad for a dropzone at a sporting good store. My attitude was "quit saying someday, go do it." After the first jump I was definitely hooked. Going through the student program was a little discouraging at times, but once I started jumping with others, I knew I could never give it up. The cool thing is after 800+ jumps, I still look forward to every weekend at the DZ. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  8. I've had good luckwith chiropractors for various injuries. What I like most about my current DC is as you're getting better, he tells you exercises to strengthen the affected area so you'll (hopefully) not hurt it again in the future. 9. I was on that jump with you, and I was one of the people that said you did the right thing. I also said this, which I say to everyone reading this: Even if you did cut it away, I'd say you did the right thing, and nobody should tell you different. With your limited experience with that canopy (and jumping in general), you didn't know if it would ever open, and if you're not sure if it's going to open, you should be grabbing for the handles while you still have time. If you have an opening like that again, you should have more confidence that it'll open. Still, you need to have altitude awareness, and be ready for emergency procedures if you approach your hard deck without a good parachute. I'm glad you got up again the same day. 10. I have a Sabre 1, and I've never been spanked on an opening where I've done a good job of rolling the nose. On the other hand, I've been slammed pretty bad on some pack jobs where I wasn't so careful. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  11. Just another example of how American society has become. Let's find something that could remotely be construed as hurtful to me, and I'll get rich by suing anyone (with deep pockets) that could be remotely connected to such injury. 12. My fiancee' was the other student that Cajones referred to. When Cajones recommended the tunnel, I agreed that it would be very useful, and we should do it ASAP. A couple of hours later, she was in the tunnel, and I was watching from the door. She got 10 minutes, broken into 5 2-minute sessions with 30 seconds between them. Lob from Elsinore went with her and did coaching from the window. The difference between her first 2-minute session to the last was huge. She got her body position and turns down, and she felt positive again. Just like you, she was feeling down after her troubles on level 2. Now she's ready to go back and give level 2 another try next weekend. I don't know what to tell you about your $$$ issues. One thing to consider is how much "freefall" time you get in a tunnel session. To get the 10 minutes of "freefall" that she had in the tunnel, she'd have to do about a dozen skydives. Her tunnel time should make all of her remaining AFF jumps easier. Whatever you choose to do, good luck. Terry P.S. I also felt like crap when I had to redo 2 of my training jumps. That was 800 jumps ago. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  14. Unless you're trying to shoot and kill Buicks, the 9mm should be plenty. IMHO, it is more "fun" to shoot. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  16. Ouch. That one hurts. I lost an altimeter when I didn't do the wrist strap. Good thing it didn't hit anyone. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  17. Well, the weather Saturday didn't cooperate much. I got to jump with RJRipcord a few times, and I got to see Cajones be a tandem passenger for a tandem check ride... CurtisMelanieJ was around, and so was Lew and of course, Shark. Did I miss anyone? Thanks to Rosa, Michele, and JTval for your pledges. As promised, I matched them. A few of you like Nightingale owe me a jump.
  18. Rippedcord: I will be Lo'ing at Elsinore on Saturday. Terry There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  19. I had a similar situation -- contemplating an overseas marriage, and some close friends / family couldn't afford to go. Since I could afford to subsidize the travel expenses of everyone (without going into debt), I decided I'd provide whatever assistance was necessary to the people that I really wanted there. Ultimately, we decided to get married in the States. Still, I'll probably have to buy a few plane tickets. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  22. If there turns out to be a wide skill range, I'll organize 2 groups (and I'll jump with the low-timers). No problem! There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  23. I am load organizing at Elsinore on Saturday, and I want to make the following offer: For each jump a dz.commer makes with me on Saturday, I'll donate the cost of their jump ticket ($20) to the instructor equipment fund (up to $300 maximum.) So if 5 people make 3 jumps each, the fund gets $300 from my pocket. If a DZ.commer wants to skip a jump and donate their $20 instead, I'll match that too (again, up to my $300 limit). Be sure to identify yourself as a DZ.commer when you see me Saturday. I'll be there by 9:00. Blue Skies Terry There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  24. WOW! Another great example of the wonderful people we have in our skydiving "family". George, you rock! There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  25. As an Elsinore regular for 5+ years now, I'm sad for their loss. I'm also extremely proud of the DZ.com family, so many of whom have stepped up to offer cash and equipment to get them going again. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
