  1. I looked at the "Sleep Number" beds, and found a competitor called "Comfortaire" (http://www.comfortaire.com/). They were cheaper than the better-known brand (they are sold by independent sellers on the web.) I've had mine for more than a year and really like it. There are battered women? 2. When I was looking at houses, I'd find a nice house, and one or two doors down, the lawn was 3 feet high. I live in a community with a HOA now. They make sure things like that don't hapen. They are making me paint my house this year (it does need it). If/when I move again, I'll probably look more favorably on homes with a HOA veruss those without one. On the other hand, I'd never be on the board of a HOA. That's a thankless, and often difficult job. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  3. 1010 jumps so far without one... There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  4. It's been about 7 months for me now since I came down with a non-skydiving "injury." I went in the wind tunnel this last weekend, and other than some muscle soreness, it was all good. I plan to make some skydives on the weekend of July 4th. Finally! There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  5. Cessna for my first 100 jumps. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  6. I've got about 800 jumps on my original Sabre. About once every 75 or 100 jumps, I get spanked. Once or twice really hard. Otherwise, I really like the canopy. I had it relined at about 600-700 jumps, and now it performs better than ever. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  7. Unfortunately, a non-skydiving-related injury has kept me sidelined for 6 months. After too many doctors and tests, it looks like I may need spinal surgery, possibly a spinal fusion. I see a spinal surgeon next week for his opinion. After making 260+ jumps last year, this year really sucks. I miss it sooooo much. There are battered women? 8. I don't think I really practiced at all before my first jump of my pack job. I had watched the packer and asked some questions. I went to a corner, and started packing. It took me 45 minutes to an hour to get it packed. I went to my instructor, and asked what I needed to do to get signed of. He said "go jump it. If it opens, I'll sign you off." And yes, I was nervous, and had serious thoughts of not jumping that one. It did open O.K., and I got my license. I pack about 25 percent of the time now. There are battered women? 9. I agree that it may further alienate wuffos. Maybe something attached to Safety Day would work. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  10. The demand for oil is going to continue growing at a fast pace, and prices will continue to go up. We do need to work on alternative/reneable fuels, but those technologies will take years before they get to the consumer. Until we can reduce our dependency on oil, we need to keep finding more, even if it means drilling in ANWR, or off of he coasts of California and Florida. Chrysler just announced they will have a hydrogen-powered car by 2012. Honda already has several hydrogen cars on the roads of America and Canada, and has a natural gas Civic that has been on the market for a few years. Governor Arnold here in California is pushing hydrogen also. The problem with hydrogen is it takes burning fossil fuels to generate it. People seem to forget that. There's no panacea. 12. Funny, but I recently made a statement on this subject to my father. I told him that if I ever died skydiving, the enjoyment I've gotten out of the sport would have made it worth paying the ultimate price. So, I answered "Yes", I'd still do it. 15. I see that the family has retained high profile lawyer Johnnie Cochran (of OJ Simpson trail infamy). I'm sure he'll file a 100-million dollar wrongful death lawsuit. On the other hand, I think the city should bill this kid's mother for the damage to their police car, and the cost of the bullets used. There are battered women? 17. My fiancee' could probably be categorized as "ultrathin", and the thing that I still can't stop looking at is her flat stomach. Fortunately, she has curves elsewhere (where you're supposed to have them.) There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  19. I'd say to definitely get used. You said it yourself that you don't want to buy and then downsize a (relatively) short time afterwards. Another factor to consider is you'll probably have a better idead of exactly what you want once you've got a couple hundred more jumps. You can buy used, jump it for a couple hundred jumps (or more), and then sell it for close to what you paid for it. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  20. I DIDN'T purchase an extended warranty for my 2001 Porsche. Last Sunday, the alternator went out. $1410.00 for the part/labor. Fortunately, since the car was only 2 months out of warranty, Porsche paid for it anyway. Whew... Of course I have an extended warranty on my 1999 Honda Accord, which never breaks down... 21. If you would have asked me this 3 months ago, it would have been a tough question to answer. Oh how things have changed. As of a couple of weeks ago, my hope was to be able to jump at any point in the next year or two. Fortunately, in the last couple of days, things have started looking better. Some history: After the busiest jumping year of my life, I awoke 1 morning with excruciating pain in my shoulder. After a bunch of Dr's, X-rays, MRI's, shock tests (nerve conduction tests), being repeatedly stabbed with a needle (EMG test), the Dr's think they have an answer. Specialist #1, who administered the nerve tests figures that I had a viral infection in my brachial plexus, where a number of nerves come together. The good news is most people recover on their own. The bad news is I may never recover 100 percent and the recovery could take up to 2 years. In the meantime, I have pain, weakness, and "pins and needles" in that arm. Specialist #1 said I could skydive if I had the strength. I see specialist #2 this week to get his take on the nerve test results. If he gives me the go-ahead, I'll try some "pull-down" exercises in the gym to see if I have enought strength in that arm to flare. I normally jump year-round, and the nearly 3 months I've been off now is the longest since I started 10 years ago. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...

  23. After meeting someone, or going on a date, I'll rarely call a woman more than twice without a response. I don't believe that someone is "too busy" to at least return my call. If someone is really interested, she will find the minute or two to return the call. The tough part is when you do get ahold of someone, and they say they're too busy to get together right now. Do I call back in a week? A month? Are they telling the truth? I finally ended up telling them that if they wanted to get together in the future to give me a call. If they did, then I knew they were truly interested. I didn't stay at home waiting for the phone to ring, though. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  24. I'm a regular Elsinore jumper, not jumping right now due to a non-skydivng-related injury. Hopefully I'll be back jumping by the time you're there. Yes, there are a number of Elsinore jumpers here. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
  25. I did my water training at Perris. I think it was done by Walt Mitchell. He just gave us a 10-minute briefing, and then each of us jumped into the pool, and he through a canopy over each of us. Mine was done in February. I remember that because someone watching said we should pass just because we jumped into that cold water... Ask some more people at Perris about who does it there. I'm sure it's done fairly frequently. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
