  1. Do not worry! ZP 170 will fly lot better. Just take your time and try it in nice calm winds first.
  2. Do not stress about this! You suppose to be under a working, flying canopy over 600m. Having or not a Cypress should not matter. Keep on reading the "Waiting for the Cypress thread..."
  3. The version 4.0 line set for the Triathlon improves the flare on them by moving the brake lines more inboard on the canopy. A canopy with 500 jumps on it is most likely due for a line set soon, and could be upgraded to the current version line set at that point... I bought one with 1000 jump. It was badly out of trim and really short and shrunken break lines. It was hard to land softly. It was opening in stall and rocking back and forward..... I got it relined. Its still not a miracle. I like it because its opening fast and reliable. Its just a life saving device for ending my wing suit dives. I can land it in 2m circle any time. Its just a good all around canopy, nothing more.
  4. Sure thing! What else have you tried? I like only its fast opening. You can easily find canopies with better flare. Its just an all around canopy, not a miracle.
  5. I use it in a small pouch on the backside on my helmet(Z1).I've seen others using on their glove, left palm.
  6. I have a Wintec WBT-201. Its working great. I used a Garmin Geco 301 before. Wintec is more sensitive, less trouble getting signal in plane. I like it much: its simple and compact.
  7. Do like the bright Russians. Buy Vampire3 as the first suit!
  8. It wont solve anything. People should be interested flying their canopies and not being a passenger under those. Some people close their mind after getting their first license. No requirement can change that. I really don;t know if the policy like in UK any better to require come CC courses to fly HP canopies.
  9. I got a Triathlon with tons of jumps. I had short brake lines. It was so easy to flare properly to get a soft landing. Time to time is was opening in stall. Sure you can jump as long as you collect all of these....
  10. Ask people here around. Some prefer to jump wing suit with Pilot or Sabre2 quite heavily loaded. For Atair, check their pages. They jumped Cobalt upto WL 3.5 if I remember right. Still an older design of all around canopy still can serve good today if it does not have serious flows, although they might not be the most polular canopies. For the record: I have not jumped Firebolt yet. I'm willing to jump almost any canopy.
  11. You must have missed something. I do not Psycho Pack. I do not neet that.
  12. ... for instance scaling canopies are not trivial One goal can be all size perform similar manner, other can be scale for different market segment. I jump Pilot150 WL 1.3 to 1.5, than moved to Cobalt 135 WL 1.6+. It was not a big step. Once I had even compared those canopies. Cobalt has a bit more tail taper than Pilot. Wingspan was about the same. I believe that even some intermediate level jumper can handle a Cobalt 135 on lower wing loads line 1.0-1.3. Even Atair states so. Who can be the best source of canopy performance than factory pilots? Why do you think that the saying "it flies big" come from? Firebolt can has similar properties.
  13. Are planing to play russian roulette or planing to base jump with PDR? A reserve should be fully deployed in 100m even with no speed at all.
  14. Sure. There were days I had jumps on a 160 and 105 too. Size does matter. 1.3 on a 150 is not equal with 1.3 on 190. I took 12 kg of extra weight and jump my Cobalt135, it was not flying at all like a 105 I jumped later. WL and size together might have some sense.
  15. So? There are non crossbraced canopies you can load over 2.0 and they perform well.... Your double netgated logic won't prove you. the fact that you can load some canopies heavily does not have implication about the minimum load of other canopies. You would be surpised if you would know what other properties the crossbraced canopies have other than crossbraces.....
  16. I've been reading this forums for 5 years. There is always mobbing about canopy sizing. Fear tactics do not seem to work. Any contructive idea? PS.:nice quotation. It sounds somehow familiar..
  17. Does it matter if its the 1st, 2nd or 1000+1st packjob? I know someone else to also does not care who packs his gear.....
  18. Read me post again. I did not state that Cobalt is a student canopy. Size does matter. Canopies does not scale linear and stabily or agility of a canopy is not just about the planform..
  19. Of course he doesn't care who packs his canopy, its not a velocity 111. Its a 215 sf canopy. Rocket science is very simple compared to the complexity of a parachute......haha You missed something. That guy was jumping a sub100 sqft Xaos..... Rocket science was about packing....
  20. Haven't you notice that USD lost some of its value? Its a good reason to raise prices.
  21. Some countries 20 years or less if manufacturer states so.
  22. Dude, Are you kidding about this post?? You Jump a freaking 215sf canopy and only have 40 pack jobs. This is about a high performance canopy not a humongous student canopy. Have you ever jumped a VELOCITY loaded at 2.2??? Also, I don't think anybody said for sure that this was a step-through. Dude, do you know the big difference between you and him? He does have faith and you do not. Packing is not a rocket science. I have met this kindda guy. He really does not care who packs his rig, even a student under a licensed jumpers supervison. I have been jumping around WL 2.2. I got lot relaxed than before. You know and see what matters and what does not.
  23. I pack for others time to time. They put their trust in my hand. If you don't trust a packer than don't use it. Do not forget they allow you to rest or take that load which you could not make by yourself.
