  1. ***Imagine for a moment four canopies flying a straight in final and the LZ is wide enough to land four canopies abreast with out disturbing each other. Now lets say one of those four canopies makes is turn from base to final ahead of the other three and imagine them S-turning on final. What will happen to the other three? Quote I don't think that you can not recognize an S-turn on final. They all land into the wind. So, if you can recognize it, what is your problem? If he is overshooting his target why do you have to overshoot too? I think swoopers can mess up more with pattern than S-turners.
  2. You've just left out the desity of the air. E.g. one tracing position is good @ 4000m and start stalling around 2000m.
  3. Oh, So you are a pink panther wannabe :).
  4. Ok. You need some crepe paper or crinkled paper paper in length of 10meters 25-35 cm in width, a small plastic bag, tape and 60-80 grams of sand. Fill the bag with sand, seal it. tape the bag onto one end of the paper. Roll the paper around the bag. It should we the same descent rate that a skydiver under canopy. Don't forget to roll down 0,5-1meters and just stuff next to the roll before you throw. We used a piece of heat insulation foam from an old heatpipe as a weight and some kind of paper. I can take some pictures next time, I don't know when, because its a bit off-season here.
  5. We make streamer with a small plastic bag, 80grams of sand and some paper. Its no harm to anyone.
  6. http://www.jumpshack.com/Images/Home/MagazineSize_We've_Got_Your_Back.jpg I'm sorry you should know more about racer than me.
  7. That's interesting argument. AFAK pin needs some pull force to open; PC is inflated and pulling, so what extra positive drag is expected with the D-bag? I've jumped a Racer Elite with totally open corners, I had no problem with it.
  8. I'm not kidding. It's a big difference. I use to pack on the same day I go jumping. I've jumped in the beginning of January, it got wet, I had to dry it. I'm not fighting with it if I don't have to.
  9. I use humidifier instead. Just a night in my bedroom with humidifier on and its ready for packing.
  10. A canopy is more bichy to pack if it very dry.
  11. IHMO spotting is more important with a turbine plane. With a 172/182/206 there a small difference between a good and medicore spot and big difference between a good and a bad spot. Think about a big turbine plane: plenty of jumpers, long jumprun, but everone should make it back.
  12. Damn you. You've beaten me. I had 5. 3 times under a PZ-81, triangular reserve, twice under a square. I'm clean for more than 200 jumps.
  13. I donno. Tandem student is a student and a customer in one. I have not heard these kind of things before.
  14. Pack volume is a function of several things. Containers do have a min-max limit for main and reserve canopy.
  15. Area is not a question, pack volume is.
  16. I could not see proof that any household ability would effect one's sexual orientation.
  17. Do you have some pictures about a Javelin with dynamic corner mod?
  18. What was the last time you tried to pack a really dry gear?
  19. Don't worry so much! I've started jumping on round mains. Dropping or jumping those spotting was essential. I've seen even experienced failed to spot, we had a clubRW record attempt from a 207 and 208, most of the experienced jumpers were onboard, bad spot, most of the were landing out. You can learn it on big planes too if they willing to make a run over the flield at 600m and you can throw a streamer.
  20. I don't know the rules abd regulation in UK. I may leave in packed, but I would repack it before jump it again. Mine is unpacked now, because I was so lazy to pack it after it gor wet and dried.
  21. My rigger has not installed RSL with my canopy. VectorII + Pilot 150 , WL 1.3+. I had several cut-aways.
