  1. SAS speeds can be compared, because they are normalized.
  2. There are countries where the normal/regular swimming suit for man is that you described before.
  3. Are you willing and capable find and land if the balloon pilot says :"jump!" ? A (hot air) balloon jump involves landing out.
  4. [replyI have no intentions to downsize EVER. Maybe go to a same sized elliptical in 5 or 600 jumps, but not necessarily smaller.] Hehe. I had similar statement about fast/ZP/elliptical canopies 5 years ago. Never say never!
  5. Thats why I quit. Its like talking to a rock. Some people need to learn all by themselves. Wow! Having almost 3000 jumps and 20+ years in the sport, but still don't know how to handle new commers.
  6. If you interested in highly loaded reserves you should read the manual of the PD reserves. Overloaded main canopies? Some guys stated that front risers should be used for getting acceptable landing with some overloaded one.
  7. I had PPKU istalled for the main on RS4/A and for the reserve on some other gear. I never had on both.
  8. What do you expect? Most of us is not a canopy designer. Most of us use our canopy in its intended performance envelope.
  9. How about reading the gear section at least?
  10. LOL. Wow! You are not alone anymore.
  11. I have started with rounds, broke my ankle with a square. I had jumps with PPKU - mechanical AAD. I forgot to arm it on my last jump. I would not jump rounds again after jumping squares. I don;t think you have missed so much.
  12. Nice story. Some peolpe might start putting out thier eyes first.
  13. It is really expensive. I have bought some cheap forehead light for less than 4 Euros. It has 5 leds and operating from 3 pcs AAA battery. It has several working pattern too. You might chain 3 pieces from that together and it would have all around visibility.
  14. Quite logical. A student can not decide is any damage is serious or not.
  15. If I were you I'd rather practice 90 degrees or less rotation. I think the last 90 degrees is the most important part.
  16. How is your landing accuracy? Are you comfortable with double riser approaches?
  17. They might perform good enough. Some reserves can be loaded, because they are certified. Other reserves does not fly well if they are overloaded. Can you fit 1 or 2 size bigger reserve in your container? Usually not. Changing reserve is major pain in the ass.
  18. He should know that is not a death wish, but one of the strongest addiction. I was told that e.g. narcotic addiction can be cured with skydiving. It's not about dying in, but living for thing.
  19. I have seen a first timer having landing difficulties, panic and flare a Nav220 about 4-5m high and coming down and break his leg. It was quite a shocking experience. I broke my leg about a year before on that very same gear. I wasn't a student that time. He was a thin/normal shaped man, so his WL was under 1.0. So? What is you pick? Small or big?
  20. I've started with "trust your instructor". He/she knows the limitation of the gear.
