  1. Hey Lito, I jump at SD San Diego regularly during the weekends unless there is somethng going down at Elsinore or Perris that happens to be better... I actually prefer SD SAn Diego over SD So Cal, because of the convenience. But both DZ's have great vibes and good people as well as beer for the end of the day. I am sure we can arrange something, one of our packers lives downtown as well... 3. Before you get your panties all bound up... Go post this with the birdsuit forum. There are many out there who fly pull out. Just b/c the manufacturer RECOMMENDS not to do it, does not mean that there aren't people doing it. I have a couple of friends out there that fly containers with pull outs in their birdman suits with no problems. It's nice to see you use others point of reference instead of using knowledge you yourself have found to be true... ~G~ P.S. I'm Cadanian too... Share the love from the great white north... 5. What is the magical number that makes wing loading scary... 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 ??? Just curious, because Atair recomends people to wing load their products a little higher than you would PD's canopies or something similar. But I agree with you and this guys new CC. Why the decision for a CC than there standard canopy, it's not like he's going out to competitions with it... Kind of a waste, but nice job picking out the colors and way to keep Atair in business... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  6. Where are you jumping? Bad Bobby... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  7. I think it's cool you are doing something for the number... I did my 666 a month ago and had a buch of us fly on our head carving around one another... It looked nice on video... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  8. HMA is Technora... It is a aramid similar to vectran with stronger resistance to UV. It has no creep (meaning it does not stretch) but will still break down due to the environment you are exposed to, for example desert conditions were small particles of silica can eventually degrade the line. I have heard of companies messing around with coatings in order to increase the UV resistance. This is finally catching on, you will no doubt see more companies doing it soon. ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  9. Xf2 are vectran lined... I doubt there will be any problems with spectra slinks and vectran. I have used them before with no hassles... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  10. Possibly Technora??? If so what line strength is it and what are the dimensions? ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  11. Have you tried calling Wyat? If you have try calling Skydive San Diego, they can reach him as well... I know that demoing can be easier through the internet but sometimes it's better to talk to someone directly when it comes down to business... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  12. Have you ever wing loaded something that high before? Whether it's cross braced or not? I think 2.2 is optimal for something like a Xaos but you can wingload it higher, you will just bomb out of the sky quicker than everyone else... Good luck with it... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"

  15. I have had similar problems with my left shoulder. During AFF I was dealing with dislocation of the shoulder during free fall. But I read all these stories of DISLOCATION, if this were the case then they would be on the ground in excruciating pain waiting for assistance to put back in place. It is extremely difficult to put a dislocated shoulder back into place without assistance. What most people are experiencing is SUBLOCATION, this can easily be replaced by the person by rotating the humerus back into its socket. But it is also very discomforting. And will continue due to the weakened joints and tendons. There is hope though, if you prefer you can do continued physical therapy on the shoulder to help strengthen the muscles in order to keep the joint in place. I was not successful with this I would have frequent sublocations and continued to damage the joint. There is an orthoscopic surgery called "caspulary shrinkage" where a laser or micro waves are used to denature the tissue around the joint thus shrinking the joint and making it tighter. I opted for this and had it done over a year ago; It took about six to ten months to get my range of motion back but I have not experienced a sublocation since. Ask an orthopedic surgeon about this... Good luck ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"

  17. I am in the US. I have found many out there that do take advantage of packers and getting by without the knowledge of packing but in the end it is not advantageous. I learned by renting a rig and had a rigger show me how once then the rest of the day I practiced. By the end of the day I had a decent pack job then the rigger told me to go jump it... Pretty scary but once you have you realize how to trust yourself and your equipment... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"

  20. I know the thread... I think you should see it for yourself... I jump there, I call Skydive San Diego home but I have no problem jumping anywhere else with my friends. But there it has an interesting feel about it. There is a lot of history between the owner and Brown and what have you... It all comes down to personal preference but for me personally I like the jumping but the friends and atmosphere make it really worth while. Perris has it's cool things and so does Elsinore, and now Brown hs returned, but the dysfunction of home... Nothing can compare... ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  21. So I am curious what shit we are talking about from the Skydive San Diego crowd? ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"
  22. I think $5 is too much to pack a main... Those that have the cash to pay for packing, use it as a luxury. I have a good friend of mine that uses packers for his gear but personally, I enjoy hanging out after the jump and checking out my gear and packing it. 23. So now we are all friends again and can go skydiving??? ~G~ "The edge ... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who know where it is are those that have gone over"

  25. I think you should ask Jim, Wyat, or Cobalt Dan this question. I remeber asking about this during my canopy course and as I remember, the inflation is longer and becomes more complex as you add cells thus the canopy manufacturers found nine cells to be most optimal for an inflated wing design.
