Still no reply? Looks like we are having a night of introspection.

There is no doubt that humans have has some impact on climate, the urban heat island effect for one. The broader question is, can humans control the climate with windmills, solar panels, bike paths, EVs, public transportation, high density urban living and reusable grocery totes. The obvious answer is we can't. There has always been bad weather and there will always will be. The notion that we can "save the planet" by riding a bike to work is nothing more than delusional religiosity. It is no more effective (and no different) than saying a hundred Hail Mary's

Come on guys! You all have watched at least part of the video, I can't believe that SkyDekker is the only one with the balls to engage. Where is everyone?
-
They obviously didn't close down the liquor stores in Canada
-
You really need to watch the whole video before you really start to look foolish. Oops to late.
-
No, climate change is real, climate changes.(It always has) Nobody disputes that. The religion is that we can somehow change the climate, with windmills, solar panels, bike paths, EVs, public transportation, high density urban living and reusable grocery totes. The real juicy part of the video is where he ties Big Green to the Koch brothers and big banks.

I'll make it easy for you Environmentalist: "could we have a religion that we are unaware of?" Professor: "Absolutely, you have hit the proverbial nail on the head" "we envelop ourselves in a culturally constructive belief system....but what happens when you bump into people who don't share those beliefs? Whether you know it or not, where you like it or not, that is undermining the confidence with which you subscribe to you own views and exposing you to the very anxiety those beliefs were constructed to eradicate in the first place"

how about three minutes and twenty seconds? 48:30-51:50

Thirty eight post after I linked to the Earth Day video and not one response to the video...……..Interesting
-
Face palm. Did you watch the video, I would really like to get your views on that.

What about a restaurant that has been closed for two months? As far as the food bank people are concerned; poor folks have poor ways.
-
A once in a century pandemic? Really, that is like blaming a recession caused by an asteroid strike on bad management. After all they have happened in the past and scientists tell us they will occur in the future. Just how is a restaurant to manage, when the government shuts it down?
-
I thought you meant other countries. I'm not sure how I feel about the bailout. It wasn't bad management or market forces that put us into this mess, so the moral hazard question is off the table. In that regard it is a non sequitur. Did you watch the video? Or do you not want to answer that?
-
Non sequitur. Did you have a chance to check out that Earth Day piece?

Then let them fail, just like we should have let the banks fail and just like we should have let GM and Fiat Chrysler fail. Their assets just don't disappear, they will get sold off and a new set of folks will take over, hopefully having learned the lessons of the past. I am more worried about the moral hazard of bailing out failing companies. After all you get what you pay for. BTW with gas under $1.20 a gallon it is going to be hard to justify the premium for an EV.
-
As a consumer, oil and gas have never looked better. So much for "peak oil" LOL.

Even if you don't watch the whole thing there are a few enlightening minutes starting at the 49 minute mark.

He over-cured global warming

When was "seasonal stability" ever reliable?
-
I watched half then posted. Thought better of it and then watched the rest. The first part is pretty good the last part descends into a screed on capitalism. BTW it snowed here last night. It is hard for me to get worked up by global warming when my magnolia blooms were killed by a late season hard frost.
-
When you are talking about a four way tie for the warmest blah blah blah ever, by a few hundredths of a degree (within the margin of error) I call that a big nothing burger. Since last year was second warmest it means that it is COOLER than the warmest. So my prediction stands. 2019 showed cooling. BTW did you check out the flick?
-
I get it. It is uncomfortable when your belief system is undermined with facts. The only way to deal with it, is to not deal with it. BTW Moore doesn't narrate or appear in the film. It was written, directed and produced by Jeff Gibbs

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk11vI-7czE Michael Moore's epic takedown of "renewable" energy. If both Michael Moore and I agree* that you are wrong, you are mighty mighty wrong. *Only as it pertains to "green" energy.

Or Ebola or Lyme or MERS or Zika?
