Yeah, and in a hundred years we will all be driving EVs. But as I have said, It won’t happen in the next twenty years. EVs are this century’s version of the flying car. There are a few of them around, they keep getting better yet we aren’t zooming around like the Jetsons. You guys are just denying the reality you can see with your own two eyes.
-
Kallend said 120 years ago we were riding around on horses. I just went with his number.
-
The pesky fact is that EVs, account for 2% of car sales. That is not trolling, that is just stating reality.
-
As long as the American public prefer big trucks and SUVs, EVs will never replace ICE vehicles. When they make one that can accommodate five people, their luggage, a big dog and tow a camper 400 miles that might change.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and remember what BillV had to say about oil/gas “It would be silly to think that oil/gas will get cheaper; indeed, the reason we have more access to it now is that rising oil prices have paid for the higher extraction costs of tight oil.” Or maybe new technology is the reason? Any thoughts?

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998

It closed because I left, I didn’t leave because it closed. I missed too many football and baseball games and missed to many Jujitsu tournaments. When my actual kids required more attention than my DZ kids, I did what any good father would do. -
I didn’t sidestep anything. The fact of the matter is that EVs will remain nothing more than a niche curiosity for the foreseeable future. If they were as good as you guys claim, there would be mass adaptation overnight, but they are not, so I am right, you are wrong. Sorry (not sorry) to harsh your green buzz.

Your position remains a mystery. You should reacquaint yourself with the rules of the forum. "Copying and pasting the words of somebody else is not a conversation. At the very least, the person should make a comment in relation to the wall of text they've copied and posted so we know where the poster himself stands in relationship to it. Give it some context so you aren't simply acting as a copy and paste meat robot" According to the rules of the forum you are nothing more than a "meat robot"

That would be a "non-sequitur" not a "straw man"

So you are saying that we need to spend even more on the military industrial complex? Interesting.

That is not logic. -
I have already conceded that we will all be driving EVs in a hundred and twenty years. (just to be clear, that is 120 years NOT 20)

https://blog.nationalgeographic.org/2012/11/20/warming-lakes-climate-change-and-variability-drive-low-water-levels-on-the-great-lakes/ Climate change is blamed for low water levels, until it is blamed for high water levels. IN THE SAME AREA! -
Good point and in 120 years we will all be driving electric cars.
-
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plug-in_electric_vehicles_in_the_United_States 98% of Americans drive what I drive, only 2% drive what you drive. Might want to get out occasionally and see how other people live.

Covid-19 claims another victim https://ktla.com/news/california/californias-budget-cuts-include-cancelling-billions-in-climate-change-spending/ Even California recognizes the difference between a real crisis and an imaginary one.

Hi Jerry, Around most of America, one cannot and that is a big drawback of the Leaf, or any other EV for that matter.
-
Yes and the poor and working class have super chargers in their garage. (Face palm)
-
Same year Corolla, $4999, bigger, faster, longer range and no need to wait overnight to fill back up.
-
Used Toyota Corolla $8000 (that is for a 2015 BTW)

I was referring to the folks that can only afford a modestly priced used car. Tesla subsidies don't help them but low gas prices do. If you were to stick it to the oil and gas companies, they would just pass the cost on to the consumer, which would disproportionately hurt the poor and working class.
-
Fossil fuel subsidies keep energy costs low for all people, Tesla subsidies benefit only those who can afford to drop $40-$100K on a car.
-
The problem I had with Tesla was the millions of tax dollars going to subsidize upper middle class toys. Any current post about Tesla are about my prediction that it would be bankrupt in five years (three now)

Looks like Elon Musk is now a Republican. https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/grimes-mom-just-slammed-elon-105800093.html

If that happened to our current president, he would just claim, fake news, and say the recordings were not him (that’s not a stretch, he has actually done that before). As far as the power grid going down? He would just blame Obama and Pelosi.
