There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
brenthutch replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
June had the fewest tornadoes in 70 years and we are more than 25% through hurricane season and still no hurricanes. BTW the world is projected to set another record for global food production. All of this in the middle of a “CLIMATE APOCALYPSE” LOL -
Not nearly as much blood on his hands as blue state dems. Cuomo should go to jail for forcing nursing homes to take in COVID cases.

One number 4.8 million
-
Last I checked, chainsaws and logging vehicles ran on fossil fuels.(same with mining equipment)
-
The number of the day is 4,800,000

Nine out of the top ten of Canada’s exports benefit from lower energy costs.
-
You will be happy to know that more than half of the jobs lost have returned to the oil patch as prices recover and more and more rigs start back up. The stress test imposed by COVID-19 will just make the industry stronger and more productive. That is good for everyone.
-
I’m more concerned with the consumers than the investors. We all benefit from low energy prices. Companies go bankrupt, rocks do not. I have taken a hiatus from SC because it is bad form to kick down. I will just let Planet of the Humans and Apocalypse Never, marinate in the minds of the mentally greentarded.

Social distancing has been all but forgotten.

By "at" I mean, at the location, as in the accident victim died at the scene. Using Kallend's logic, if I were to be hit and killed by a truck on my way to the doctors office to get a flu vaccine, I would have been killed by the vaccine. Because if not for the vaccine, I never would have made the trip and would still be alive. -

No less credible than AGW theory, I like it. -

You can worry about them all you wish, there is just nothing you can do about it. Sort of like hurricanes and heat waves. -

If hurricanes and heat-sensitive areas were a problem, people would not be flocking to them. Texas, Arizona, Florida and Nevada come to mind. -
I said "at" and not "from" You need to work on your reading comprehension.

I'm pretty sure this http://www.globalconstructionreview.com/news/china-open-30bn-coal-railway-end-month/ and this https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/03/asia/china-russia-gas-pipeline-intl-hnk/index.html were under construction during the Obama administration. China had/has no intention of cutting its CO2 emissions.
-
No, what?
-
Agreed, but if we are talking CO2 China has to be in the conversation.
-
Yet they continue to build them https://www.wired.com/story/china-is-still-building-an-insane-number-of-new-coal-plants/
-
China is all in for fossil fuel https://www.carbonbrief.org/analysis-will-china-build-hundreds-of-new-coal-plants-in-the-2020s “Furthermore, the past weeks have seen the announcement of major infrastructure programmes and other stimulus to offset the economic impacts from the coronavirus, but so far no mention of initiatives prioritising clean energy or other green investment.“

I stand corrected, TMI and Fukushima combined had the same number of deaths as Chappaquiddick.
-
From weather.com “May is typically the most tornadic month in the U.S., averaging 272 tornadoes each year between 1999 and 2018. But as of May 25, only 49 tornadoes had been confirmed throughout the month, according to Evan Bentley, a severe weather meteorologist at NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC).” And I thought global warming was going to make for more tornadoes.
-
More people died at Chappaquiddick that at Three Mile Island and Fukushima combined.

You’re on. I will say that it looks like I may be wrong about Tesla.
