As a student I certainly cannot answer your Q...However my DZO mandates that all student rigs be flat packed at our DZ......If I recall correctly...most base rigs are also flat packed(plz correct me if I am wrong)......my best guess is that line checks can be completed more acuratley when flat packing is used(again plz correct me if I am wrong). I have only flat packed...i have approx 100 packs compared to 33 jumps....have been showed pro packing a couple of times....think I'd like to learn pro packing with color coded lines

While it is early to take a educated guess at the 04 champion...M. Schumacher would be the smart pick. Schumi is looking great as always!...and the Ferrari is running a tad better than ok....Ferrari usually(well the last few years) dosent bring out the new model untill after a few races...this year the new model was out for the 1st race...seems to me that they are in a better position this year compared to the last few years. While you are correct on the engine rule...there is still a extra T (team) car....if a major failure or wreck happens the T car can be used or if a wreck and red flag on start ...again the T car can be used. only a fool would argue with that I think the one engine rule favors the sport as a whole. While I do agree that the other teams need to meet the standards being set by Ferarri and Schumi(Barichello is no slouch either)it does not negate the fact that seeing one driver walk away from the field every race is somewhat boring....I'd invert the field and burn the blue flags. This new season has had a few suprises already....WoW..Webber and Jag taking the outside pole....damn lucky there wast a red flag for a massive wreck on that start....fast driver and something unexpected from the Jag(well being on the outside pole).....How about Button and BAR?....3rd..again WoW..and wasnt launch control banned this year?....those Renaults make it look like it wasnt....too bad for stupid strat decissions. Canpara is fairly slow to print new Cop's though....I got my solo Cop in the mail late Aug. name was in the Dec/Jan. issue.

Well...lets set one thing straight right off the batt....MOST of the driving public shouldnt have a licence!!!! Driving a 3500lb weapon seems to be a "god given" right this day and age....some states/provinces/countries are implementing stricter laws on new drivers(Nova Scotia is one of them)...but others who already are licensed will not require retesting(myself included)...not that I approve of another gov imposed "fee/expence"...but damn!!!!!...the morons are out there...and I would gladly pay a little extra and take time from my semi dull life to be retested every couple of years if it would keep some of the cell phone talking/lipstick appling/non snow clearing/non signal light users/no general intellegance/self centered fuckers off the roads!!!!!!!!!!! Sry.....I must digress...long day at work...a touchy subject with me and a few beer

Again....I agree......there is no need to haul a 84 year old off to jail...let alone a "low life" detension center for a non malious death! And again...I re-ask my Q about retesting drivers in CA as they age and if medicals are required.

Without seeing the incident....we can only speculate...most likely the elderly driver of the 5th wheel is at fault....but I will agree...hauling him off to jail and to a "low life" dentension center is very wrong! charging him with manslaughter may also be wrong. As we age our vision fades...along with reflexs etc. ...A loss of life has occured...someone is responsible for it...how they(the one who fucked up) are dealt with is up to the system put in place buy you and me. this raises a few questions....are drivers retested as they age in CA?.....are medicals required? Was the motorcyclist impared?...what was his age?...what kind of M/C? etc. etc. etc.
