The national company I work for reciently(spel) closed our parts depots and switched to Napa....there markup is brutal!!!!!!!!...similar to a jewelry stores..... Most aftermarket parts and reman parts come from the same companies that supply all jobbers/wholesales/retailers in a area.....differances in prices from ...lets say napa and pepboys... is usually there markup and how they honor there warranties.....I've gotten the same part(identical) from 2 different retailers ...with a 100% differance in retail price and a identical warranty I must digress...I cant rant for hours on this shit

Dude/Dudette......Rephrasing your statement about Alt's. being easy to replace would be a wise thing...I agree that many are quite easy to replace with little mechanical aptitude and a small selection of hand tools.....However!!!!.....there are also many vehicles out there where I would dare you to even touch one...let alone replace one......ever change a Alt. on a 3.4l Lumina?(there are many other examples) I have a class A Interprovincal Journeymans Lic. and am a ASE Master Tech and ASE Advanced Engine performance specialist with 15 years in the trade. Cheap advice is generally cheap for a reason Glad you got your car fixed on the cheap girl!! always nice to have a neighbour go out of there way to help....Leme guess....you drive a GM product?.....AC Delco Alt's are crap and go quite often..... and on most of there vehicles...are quite easy to change. A typical charge for your prob would be ...Tow bill($??) Diagnose..(.5 hour) Replace Part..(1.0 hour-on average for a GM) Parts ($75-that would be a cheaper Alt with less warranty) + Taxes.

Not possible??.....Highly unlikely but it is possible....a 3 point harness can be slipped out of in a collision...coming out of the harness and then being thrown from the vehicle in a collision where the vehicle dosent flip(etc.)....well......its almost not possible

I just updated my jump numbers to get a error in the numbers field....had my lic down as Solo(Canada)....unfortunatally solo is not a option in the selection ...I dont have my A lic YET...yes I am still a student and will be for a long time.....but having a lic I have a hard time clicking on student ...so I am hoping that there can be a addition made to the lic list....solo or self supervision. TY.
