I'm so glad that you wrote that Clay because I have experienced similar encounters. I don't want to come across as crazy. When I was younger, I lived in a home where everyone saw/experienced things that pointed to the fact that there must have been a "spirit" there. I will not ever write about any of those experiences. I cannot say that I "believe in ghosts", but, perhaps, not everything that happens can be explained in this world/dimension that we, as humans, interact within. I have always "attracted" energy/spirits/souls that are not living (Ugh...I see dead people. ) I guess that you can say that I see, feel, hear things that others do not. Some energy is bad, but most is neutral. I am not usually frightened of these interactions (unless it feels very evil), but I, as a rational, practical person, have no "logical" explanations for certain occurrences. These occurrences, thankfully, are definitely not as prevalent for me as they used to be, but they still happen from time to time. I usually just brush it off as nothing, unless someone else is with me and freaking out at what they just saw, heard or felt. Then I have to admit that it happened. I have NEVER liked having these experiences. They drain me physically. I still don't know what to think about all of this... I'm a freak.

That's a great idea, Kris, but you have to understand the differences between skydiving and your martial arts classes. The DZ is a long drive for some jumpers. They are driving in from totally different locations to jump at their favorite DZ on the weekends, and they travel to new DZs in different states/countries all the time. (Boogies or competitions are a whole other issue, too!) Angela ~ Hi sweetie! I got my license in May 2003, and I have 122 jumps. It's not too bad, but if I had my way, I would have triple that amount of jumps. Unfortunately, I have 2 chronic health illnesses that I have had for over 13 years. I take medication daily, and when I am really sick, I need to be on strong antibiotics. I have surgery yearly, too. When I do not jump, I am usually just too sick to jump. Right now, since I have not worked full-time by choice for an exceptionally long time (usually I am a WORKAHOLIC by nature) and lived off my savings, I have been able to travel to about 7 different DZs...usually completely by myself. I have been to 1/2 dozen boogies. I have taken one Airspeed and one Freefly tunnel camp each. I have traveled for fun (Peru, Hawaii, Florida [twice], Arizona, Bay area, San Diego [regular now] and [upcoming] Nevada) Now, I am totally broke. This may prevent me from jumping as much as I'd like, but I will do everything in my power (with my health being what it is) to jump my little ass off this year.

LOLOLOL!!!!! Yes, I meant JT!!!! Sorry about that! JT, I was supposed to have surgery on Monday, but I was sick. It was moved to today, but I am still sick. I am having surgery next Wednesday. I am flying to Las Vegas from 1/24-25th with my whole family and our mates. It is my BF, my brother's GF and my brother's wife birthdays this month. It is my parents' 35th wedding anniversary, also on the 25th. Anyway, I will be with them Saturday night (maybe Sunday morning). I may be free on Sunday as that is my parent's special day together; however, I will not be able to jump, yet, so soon after surgery. I CAN probably still meet with you all to have dinner on Sunday. In the companies where I have worked, there are security cameras in the light fixtures. Yes, I have seen the camera videos in either the security guards' offices and/or in the owners' offices when I have stopped by for whatever reasons. (It's creepy, but these are usually larger, more professional companies.) If Skydivegirl works in a company like this, then she cannot "flash" this guy. You may have been just joking about the "flashing" part, but this is her workplace, not a dropzone. Anyway, even if the company does not have security cameras, her Human Resources Dept. may have a problem with her "flashing" as it can be deemed "sexual harassment". I think that Skydivegirl should just ask the punkass into her office the next time that she sees him. She should tell him that his "jokes" about her sleeping, do upset her. Maybe if she asks him to stop, then he will stop. It may be a joke, but it is in poor taste as some people may actually believe that she IS sleeping. Also, it may lead to others "teasing" her, as well. It is amazing to me that there are some people fail to see how annoying that they can be when doing things like this.

That seems to be the typical response concerning post 9/11 events... However, as Wendy pointed out before I got the chance, how do you know? You really think anyone in office at that point wouldn't have gone after Bin Laden (or Afghanistan)? We can't be sure, but it is really a cop out to say well I'm just glad it was him rahter than the other guy. The other guy never had the opportunity to make those decisions and it's not exactly fair for you to decide what he would or would not have done for him. We can however see what Bush has done and it certainly has not been to capture Osama. Well using your same logic how do you know Gore would have done a better job with the economy, or education, or health care, or the deficit? It is really a cop out to assume the other guy would have done it better, since you have no clue how he would have performed in office. The other guy never had the opportunity to screw everything up so how do you know he wouldn't? We can see however that because you do not like Bush you think the other guy would have been better. Let's be honest. Anything anyone says here is regurgitated rhetoric based on preconceived notions of what you believe to be right and wrong and prejudices based on those beliefs. We can banter back and forth all day but you have no idea how Gore would have done and if Gore had won we would have no idea how Bush would have done. You do not like the way things are, vote in the next election and make sure the guy you want wins and we can sit here and talk about how bad he screwed up the country. Better yet, run for office and see if you can do it better. Okay? Oh....I TOTALLY agree.
