Even in that case I would at least expect to see some amount of redness dripping off the car. Oh well, I think that we are going to have to do some field tests to test our hypothesis.... =========Shaun ==========

If the cat really did get his head cut off, then wouldn't there be more, um, blood? =========Shaun ==========

We usually go out to eat at a Mexican Resturant as a club after jumping, and we most always barge into KansasSkydivers house for a party about twice a month. Good vibes around here!!!

Jumpshack and MIKE FORSYTHE Freakin ROCK!!!!
Unstable replied to freeflir29's topic in Gear and Rigging
Correct me if I'm Wrong, this was before My time as a skydiver, but didn't the Dolphin with Snaps earn a bad rep for always having riser covers open in Freefall?? =========Shaun ========== -
Well, I guess if that is one of their main selling points, then they must have a LOT more problems.... =========Shaun ==========

I use a Mach 3 with the Three Bladed heads. Does a very good job...

I personally think that the Astra AAD was a very good and safe design, but one misfire with the early early models of it pretty much gave it a terrible rep in the skydiving community. If vigil wants to be marketing their AAD for years to come, this first year or two is critical... =========Shaun ==========

0:5:1 I spent most of my jumps throwing Mock Static Line students, Instructors mostly. Not on any real student Rigs, just with the SL rubberbanded to their harness. Pretty much an eye-opening experience for me, I had one "Student" almost work the door open with his knee, one student kept repeatedly fidgeting with the hook and unhooked himself 4 or 5 times, one "student" kept trying to discreatly tye his SL around the Pilot's leg or seatbelt, and the pilot faked and engine failure. I'm learning a lot about throwing SL, and I think the instructors I am practicing on are enjoying giving me a hard time... =========Shaun ==========

Sounds like you're a woman with a plan....

Now that I think about it, I've only been to Orthodox Bar & Bat Mitzvah's. I think you might have a completly different experience if you are going to one from a Reformed/ more liberal Jewish family. =========Shaun ==========

I dated a Jewish Girl for a number of years and I had to learn (ofther the REALLY hard way) some of this stuff. Bar or Bat Mitzvah's are tricky things. Depending on the area you are in and the family, it could be anywhere from a black tie event to a polo shirt & Khakie kind of thing. I wish I could help you more with this, but This is going to be a kind of thing You'll have to feel out on your own. I would personally just make an appearance to the party afterwards. At least in my experience, the ceremony itself is a very personal family event, and if you are not fluent in old Hebrew, this is going to be a very confusing (**AHEM** BORING) thing. The congregation will have reading where everbody will stand up and read selected scriptures. Even with the Hebrew Phoenictically (spelling?) spelled out, I still made a jerk of myself. Oh yeah, and it's long.... about gifts... Here is my humble opinion for this thing. It is a celebration of growing from a boy to a man. Maybe something very mature (Nice Pen Set) or something.. I hope this helped, feel free to PM me if I can do anything else for you... Blue skies, =========Shaun ==========

Chris, Thanks for the reply. Very insightful! =========Shaun ==========

Just be careful. Take it from me, I put about 200 jumps on an Old Ragged out CReW (f-111) canopy before going to my new Sabre2. You'll have to relearn a lot of things, and your flair technique is going to need some updating. Consult your local Instructors and DZ staff, they know you and the level you are at.. =========Shaun ==========

Chris, What must one of those 737-200's go through for an overspeed structural failure? Can it happen through engine force alone, or are agressive manuevers needed to cause this kind of damage? I understand that the wings on those aircraft are rating to flex 30 feet up or down without a structural failure, what would it really take to get it to snap? Blue Skies, Edited for spelling mistakes Only... =========Shaun ==========

When I read this article, and even before the Snoops response to it, it is clear that this French Explanation is absolutly bullcrap. Seriously, Diverdriver said it the best, let's stop promoting this garbage, and we REALLY shouldn't need Snoops to prove this theory wrong. Seems to me a lack of common sense and a desire to start fights... =========Shaun ==========

whats the most amazing/beautiful thing you have seen under canopy?
Unstable replied to Newbie's topic in The Bonfire
Um, on my very first skydive ever, my own parachute was the most beautiful thing I could have ever hoped to see!! =========Shaun ========== -
Here in the Midwest EVERYBODY pretty much packs for them selves. Even at the Big Turbine Dropzones, Paid packers are not used as much per person as I see on the coasts... =========Shaun ==========

Yuck, looking at the Camera Setup AND the parachutist makes me want to cringe...... =========Shaun ==========

On "The Color Of War," a series of television shows on The History Channel of actual WW2 Footage shows a clip of a paratrooper with an old video camera straped to his chest (above the Belly wart, not a real smart Idea IMO) for a training jump. I would guess it was from 1941-1945. VERY cool. =========Shaun ==========

Sigh, I've asked this in several of these threads with no luck, I'm honestly not trying to haijack this thread, but maybe somebody here can answer my question.. Does Vigil Offer a 2-pin System?? =========Shaun ==========

No, I wouldn't pay to post in talkback. I post there to meet and learn more about other skydivers, and I can do the same thing for less money then that. I would, however, pay to post in the more important forums, like Gear and rigging. =========Shaun ==========

T SHIRTS WHATS THE DEAL????
Unstable replied to RichardWeed's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I can't stand those T's with catroonish people doing tandems - They serve their purpose, however. It's those tandem students, and them buying T's, Video, and their tandem that keeps our nice planes running and the DZ open. I like the T's that just have the graphics, and I wish I could find one that just had 4-way formations or belly flying stuff, more of my interests. For what it matters, there is one T that I REALLY like but I can't find for sale at any of the websites. (maybe someone can point me in the right direction here....) It is an All-grey shirt that simply read "Still Plays With Parachutes" across the front. I love it!! =========Shaun ========== -
You see opportunities come up in this sport if you keep your eye open.. =========Shaun ==========

What is your favorite skydiving web site?
Unstable replied to Rdutch's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Sigh, I third that motion. What's the stor with that any ways, is it down for an overhaul, or is there something more........Sinister...... =========Shaun ==========
