The lecture series "Origin of Species, Part 1, 2, 3, & 4" presented by Dr. Terry Mortenson and located here is very interesting.

I have to admit. This confused me and I have been looking for answers. I have even e-mailed AiG but have not heard back from them yet. They have answered me in the past, though, so I expect a response. Anyway, here is the passage in question: At first, I was looking at it from the perspective of your objection. I was trying to figure out why in the world he would use the median size to calculate space requirement of "all" the animals on the Ark. The mean would in fact be the appropriate measurement looking at the problem overall. However, in the context of the passage, is he not talking about the space requirement of any "one" animal? I admit I could be very wrong and that's why I have asked the source. I don't think anyone at AiG is "lying" to anyone, however. Just for thoroughness, I am posting the response I got back from Bradley Jones at AiG concerning the question of why Dr. Woodmorappe used the median instead of the mean in some of his calculations regarding the space requirements on the Ark. Bradley contacted Dr. Woodmorappe and asked for clarification. I guess most of us should actually read his book instead of jumping to conclusions. Here’s Woodmorappe’s response: This is also quoted from his book, Noah's Ark, a Feasibility Study:

Religious hypocrites suck. I consider myself part of the "religious right", however, I don't think I'm naive. ...I could be wrong. By the way, "There is none righteous, no, not one;" Romans 3:10 Now... "Imputed righteousness" which comes through repentance and trust in the Savior (alone) for salvation (appropriating the debt payment for our sin which was done 2000 years ago by Jesus Christ on the cross) is something else altogether. One is then righteous but not because of anything they have done. Only by the grace of God are they saved. Not all on the right are insincere. I agree that "hypocritical judgment" of others is wrong.

This page is starting out all "feel goody" like it was in Bonfire. Yuck!!! BACK TO THE ACTION!!!

Thank you Pajarito. We have far more in common than you might imagine. I'm sure we do. I just like to argue. I'm sure I'd like you in person regardless of political affiliation.

Okay. I'm sorry Amazon woman... Not you, Bill... Amazon.
-
I didn't realize you knew the Lord also... Was that a sign of respect on your part to envoke His name in your post to rebuke me?
-
Sounds like a lot of stored up hostility. That will eat you up.

So who do I need to blow to get away with saying things like that and not get banned.. It's none of my business who you blow. Banning me, however, would probably be a good thing. That way I wouldn't be tempted to read all the garbage posted in this forum. Trust me. I'd still sleep good at night.

Hold on there, buddy. You can’t apply realism and logic to this diatribe. Let the Amazon woman’s irrational anger and hatred flow… It’s more fun that way.

***Deut. 32:3 - "The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; a God of faithfulness and without injustice." 1 Sam. 22:2 - "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; 3 My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge." Psalm 18:31 - "And who is a rock, except our God." Isaiah 44:8 - "Is there any God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none." Rom. 9:33 - "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense, and he who believes in Him will not be disappointed." Is Peter the rock on which the Church is built?

With an attitude like that he's not going to fucking get it. Have you heard the story of the Battleship Captain who saw a light that appeared to be another ship on a collision course with his? He goes back and forth with the person who responded on the radio about who was going to change course. The Captain exclaimed his rank and importance and demanded to have it his way. The other person on the radio later stated that he was a lighthouse and for the Captain to make his call. God is described as “the Rock.” He doesn’t change. You are on a collision course.

With an attitude like that he's not going to fucking get it. God is sovereign. Your call...

I guess....

Blaspheming the Holy Spirit which is the only unforgivable sin. He doesn't need your acceptance. He commands your repentance. It's not about you. You stand guilty, the weight of the Law is on your shoulders, you will be judged when you die for every thought and deed done in this lifetime, and you cannot pay the penalty. You've also not appropriated the payment that has already been paid for you by the only One who could. As long as you don't go uninformed. With knowledge comes accountability. You have a conscience (con = with, science = knowledge). You'll either listen to it or you won't. I don't mean to be direct but it just is. I wouldn't want to see anyone go to hell and am horrified at the thought of the multitudes who already have.

Bullshit comparison. According to you God thinks everyone should be punished. Not according to me. According to God. His judgment is in direct relationship to His holiness/goodness. His standard of goodness is moral perfection. Have you "ever" lied, stolen, blasphemed, committed adultery (looked with lust), murdered (hated without cause), coveted, or not obeyed and respected your parents? If so, you are guilty of breaking God's moral standard of goodness and are deserving of punishment (like the rest of us).
-
Speaking hypothetically, if you loved children would you most likely hate pedophiles and child molesters/abusers? Would you not want someone guilty of this to be punished? This is just a discussion. I tolerate your views. Won't you tolerate mine even if you disagree with them?
-
You lack understanding of your exceeding sinfulness toward God and His righteous judgment toward us. Because of the "love" of God, He is withholding the punishment that we "all" fully deserve. Because He is "love", he must punish sin. The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New Testament. You are just fortunate enough to be living in a period of grace. It is not indefinite.

You believe that all people know right and wrong (regardless of religion) and your religion provides consequences for those that do wrong. Is this correct? Yes. Most do. Added: I should clarify that there are, of course, exceptions (e.g. mental illness, retardation, etc.)
-
According to your Bible, your God is responsible for countless immoral acts. That is another argument. My point in posting what I did was that religion is not always necessary for morality. An atheist can be just as "moral" as a Christian (or any other religious preference for that matter). Generally speaking, people know right from wrong (moral from immoral). Whether they act in the moral way or not is something else altogether. However, their God given conscience bears witness to what is right and wrong. God's moral law (10 Commandments) defines it.
-
Uhhhh....What?......
-
Your will is not strong enough to keep you from sinning and is certainly not strong enough to save you. Added: I'm out. Be back later.
-
Guilty? Also, belief alone will not save anyone.
