  1. You don't go to hell because you've never heard of Jesus Christ or the gospel. You go to hell because you've lied, stolen, blasphemed, committed adultery, murdered, coveted, etc. No one is innocent. You didn't answer my question before... "What has any figure written about in the Koran done which would convince me or anyone else to believe?"
  2. It's the best preserved and reliable text in antiquity. It has been scrutinized for thousands of years by the best. Does the President reside in the White House? How do you know? Would it be reasonable to walk up to it and look in the window to see if he was there?
  3. If it was possible to remove one of your eyes without any pain whatsoever, would you do it for $1000,000? Again, I am not condemning you. Just warning you. The Bible says that you are condemned already if you do not repent and trust in the Savior. My motive is sincere. I don't want your money. I don't want to turn you on to a particular brand of religion. I'll probably never see you in person for the rest of my life. I just can't stand the thought of anyone going to hell. By the way, I don't assume.
  4. What has any figure written about in the Koran done which would convince me or anyone else to believe?
  5. Jesus Christ proved who He was. He also said He is the only way. No one comes to the Father but through Him. He left no room for ambiguity.
  6. You may be a descent person by your standards or the standards of your peers, but you are a lawbreaker in light of God's holy standard (the only one that should matter). So, you're really not a descent person because you're a liar like the rest of us (that's only the 6th Commandment), right? Jesus said that if you've ever just been angry with another person without cause (e.g. road rage), you are a murderer at heart. God knows your heart. Thoughts and intentions are as bad as the action. If you were to die right now in your sinful state, the Bible makes it clear that you would be judged in righteousness and sent to hell (described earlier) for eternity. Does that not concern you?
  7. If I lied to my employer, I could lose my job. No big deal. I can get another job. If I lied to my wife, she might divorce me. It would traumatize everyone in my family especially my kids. If I lied under oath to a judge, I'd probably be sent to jail and have to pay a fine. If I lied to the government and cheated on my taxes, I could go to jail for a very long time. If I lied to an infinitely holy God, the punishment would be infinite. Lying is lying. Even a "white lie" that you don't think would hurt anyone and might even make someone feel better about a situation is a sin on your record.
  8. Let's say the next time you went skydiving, you jumped out of the plane without your parachute because you didn't believe in the law of gravity. The fact that you don't believe in it will not keep you from becoming a dirt dart. Whether you believe in it or not, you are currently under the weight of God's moral Law and it is that Law by which you will be judged. Something deep in your conscience should testify to that whether you admit it here or not. Surely, you have a will to live.
  9. If you were guilty of rape and murder and standing in front of a judge in a courtroom, should that judge punish you for what you had done? Should he send you to jail?
  10. Kirk...no question. He changed the world as we know it. :)
  11. Believe me... I am NOT judging you. I don't place myself anywhere above you in the goodness category.
  12. I'm just asking you a question. You are going to die someday (maybe sooner than you think) and will have some serious matters to deal with concerning your eternity. I'll ask again. Seeing as how you have admitted guilt, should God send you to heaven or hell? That is assuming you are correct and there is a god. Yes I could die at any time. Maybe in my sleep tonight or tomorrow on my way to work. Might even happen on my next jump. As for guilt, everyone is guilty of something. Gods are the creation of men who needed answers "life the universe and everything". I think the idea of a god or gods is a cop out. It's the easy answer because people like you can't handle the idea that maybe there isn't any answers. That we are just here. No reason. No creator. Just a product of chance over trillions of billions of years of a shifting and changing universe. When we die it's just game over. There isn't any proof that the Christian God exists. If there were then there would be no need for faith. Should God send you to heaven or hell?
  13. Fair enough. I'm posting my point of view. You're posting yours.
  14. if everything has a maker, then god has a maker too, and god's maker has a maker etc. so who made god's maker's maker's maker? O Your presupposition is incorrect. Everything does not have a maker. "Everything made has a maker." In other words, everything that has come into existence, was brought into existence by something else. God, by definition, is eternal. Nothing brought him into existence, therefore, there is no infinite regression and He is the "uncaused cause" for everything.
  15. I'm just asking you a question. You are going to die someday (maybe sooner than you think) and will have some serious matters to deal with concerning your eternity. I'll ask again. Seeing as how you have admitted guilt, should God send you to heaven or hell?
  16. I know you don't believe. What I asked you was, "If it's true, will you be innocent or guilty?" Believe what? I was being pretty specific. You are not.
  17. Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism or whatever else you can come up with has no solution for the problem of sin and its penalty. They can't save you. Religion is man's attempt to justify him/herself. They all require that you "work" your way to some form of salvation/better afterlife/whatever. It's all a futile attempt, however, because "there is none that does good, no, not one."
  18. Then since you are guilty as charged, should God send you to heaven or hell when you die? Belief alone is not enough. "Even the demons believe and tremble." I'm not talking about religion here. Religion can damn a person quicker than just about anything else. What I'm talking about here is Jesus Christ and what he did at the cross.
  19. True. In the same sense that you would say the bible is true. True in what? True in its historicity? True in its reliability? True in its interpretation? True in what it says about its main character? True in how it deals with the problem of sin?
  20. And if the koran is true what will happen to you? True about what?
  21. Maybe... Maybe not... I don't have any idea... That's between each one of them and God. I don't know where that came from or what it's got to do with what I'm talking about. ...but thanks.
  22. I know you don't believe. What I asked you was, "If it's true, will you be innocent or guilty?"
