I think you're the "anti-paj."
-
Well then god isn't the victim of blasphemy
-
Yes. Who do you believe were the first 2 people on Earth? Did people really live hundreds of years according to Genesis?
-
The whole world was made imperfect. Not just man.
-
A female descendant? Come on man… I have no idea. All I know is that this used to be a perfect world. Now it’s not. Cain’s Wife What? You don’t think there’s more in heaven than God and the angels? Just God and a few angels sitting on some clouds? Picture the infinite expanse of the universe. God is bigger than that. The point behind the commandment is below.

If I said nothing, it wouldn't bring god glory. If I said fuck, it wouldn't bring god glory. If I said god damnit, it wouldn't bring god glory. So again, how does blasphemy hurt god? You can't hurt God. Read my previous post.
-
what happens to him? It doesn't bring him glory. He is the source of your life and everything you have or will ever have. A fallen branch can't live apart from the tree. One should be more grateful. Let me clarify something. I don't mean God is a victim in that he can be hurt by our actions or that he somehow "needs" you to obey. Neither is true. God is love. We exist because we are an expression of that love. We exist for his enjoyment. We were also made to enjoy him in that we were created in his image. Rejecting God with your blasphemy is to not fulfill the purpose which God intended for you.

God is the victim of your blasphemy. It's your life. The Bible says you will spend eternity in hell unless you have a change of heart.
-
Commandment # 1: There is only one God. The only other gods you speak of are the ones people make up for themselves. Where did Cain's wife come from?
-
The God of the Old Testament is exactly the same as the God of the New. No conversion. The Bible does say that he he a jealous God wanting all to worship him. He is also an angry God. Angry at the sin of the world.
-
The wages of sin is death. It is appointed unto men once to die, then the judgement. The method that you mention is simply that he is being patient with you not wanting you to suffer eternity in hell (which you deserve for being a lawbreaker). You are under sentence of death right now. God is just granting you a stay of execution. It's not a permanent one. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God is "nice." He is infinitely love, holy, and righteous. I think it is amazing that he is willing to be patient while some of us develop into children of God. It's certainly NOT what we deserve (how did you do with the 10 C's?). Until we become repentant and trustful, we are described in the Bible as being "children of wrath." We are storing up wrath for ourselves for the "day of wrath."

Changing from judgement as and when to judgement at the end of time is a major change in policy. The punishment is the same. If you're found guilty of breaking the law, God will give you justice in the end. I suspect a big purpose for illustrating the difference between the Old and New is in order to get it through the thick skulls of rockheads like us. I'm glad he's having patience with us. You should fear God's judgement if you've read anything in the Old Testament.
-
There is no change of policy. The punishment is the same. He's just withholding judgement. I'm glad.

The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New. The prophetic continuation from the Old to the New is very much an instructional guide to inform us of what is to come. Before, the New Covenant with the sacrificial death of Jesus, however, God judged the world in the manner in which it deserves because of the breaking of God's moral law. He is withholding judgment until a time of his choosing now because he doesn't wish that anyone should perish. He wants people to come to repentance and trust in him. His patience will not last forever. There will come a day in which you will be judged for every thought and deed that you've done in this world and the punishment will be every bit (actually more) extreme as what you read in the Old Testament. We are already guilty of breaking the law (see attachment below). If we wind up in hell, it will be because we chose it. The judge (like in our court system) is simply giving us justice that we deserve.
-
That would be necessary if the Bible weren't reliable. It is. However, there is extra-Biblical evidence for the existence of Jesus. Saying that he never existed is ridiculous.
-
Sure seems like it.

Let's say you're driving down the road and a police officer pulls you over. You were driving the speed limit and don't think you've done anything wrong. Is the officer "judging" you by showing you the sign in front of the school you just passed that lists a reduced speed limit of 25mph? The officer might also show you a copy of the ordinance which states that you must slow down in that zone during school hours. Is the officer judging you by simply showing you the law?
-
No. What I'm really trying to do is explain what light is to a blind man.
-
I think everyone is still waiting patiently (some impatiently) for you to add anything worthwhile to the conversation. I'm beginning to doubt that it will ever come to pass.
-
We're trying to have an intelligent conversation here.

Ok. Aside from your bad habit, do you ever wonder why Jesus or God is preferred by most in the context of profanity? Why not Buddha, Mohammed? Not even the worst criminals and perpetrators of genocide in our history are used in such a way. However, many take the name of the giver of life and everything we have and trash it like it was nothing.
-
I agree with that. We all get numb or desensitized to such things. It gets worse with the continual demoralization of our country. Are you kidding me? List Then why insist on doing it? If I were an atheist, I would think that I'd want to use something/anything else.

Commandment # 3: You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. Really? Jesus I've been doing that my whole life! Oh goddamn it there I go again It's interesting how even atheists when they want to express extreme anger use the Lord's name in such a way. I wonder why that is? Even when their motive isn't simply antagonism as was in your previous post. Could it be that there is in fact a sense of God in everyone and that, even with the atheist, it is a way of showing the most extreme rebellious contempt in its use in any adversely perceived situation.

I'm not ignoring anything. I don't get your point.
