  1. I believe that everyone (even atheists) deep down at the most basic level realizes deep down (even though they might not understand or even if they are rebelling against the notion and won’t admit it) that their soul is eternal and does not just end when we die. I also believe that everyone has an internal will to live that kicks in when the realization hits that we are going to die one day (maybe soon). Especially if they come to realize that they are in big trouble.
  2. What has that got to do with your eternal salvation?
  3. To quote from Jakee... "Eh? What'd I do? Why are you talking to me?"
  4. You mean the most in-depth revisionism. That stuff is full of hoaxes. Don't fall for it. Too late.
  5. I think it's silly to apply WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) to situations which have no bearing on something Jesus actually did or demonstrated as an example in his lifetime. Otherwise WWJD becomes very subjective. I think it's overused and inappropriately used many times. A better one is WDJD (What Did Jesus Do?). Compare whatever it is you're doing to what we can actually show in the Bible to be the case. However, if we must, I don't think Jesus would advocate healing the two year old infant in your example at the expense of the life of a less developed one.
  6. It’s better to be the lowliest sheep in God's flock than the most powerful man on Earth.
  7. "I'd like to express my great appreciation for the sacrifice you've made for all of us. I'd also like to convey my sympathy for the suffering you continue to endure. It is only by the actions of people such as yourself that we all enjoy the freedoms that we do. Without you and others like you, we would not exist as a free nation. I hope your recovery is speedy and know that many of us are praying for and thinking of you often." Maybe something like that.
  8. You didn’t answer my question. I’m not judging you. I’ve broken all 10 more times than I can remember. Have you ever stolen or taken something that didn’t belong to you? Cast out the beam in your own eye before worrying about the mote in mine. I am NOT subject to your mythology. Let's take religion out of it. Have you ever told a lie?
  9. That “sense of right” (and wrong) comes from God. I agree with you that we all have it. However, it is our rebellious selfish nature which entices us “to sift through the Bible and pick and choose which morals they want themselves and their kids to live by.” God’s moral law is as true today as it was in the time that it was given. We can choose not to follow it in our lifetimes; however, we are all still ultimately accountable to it.

  11. Have you ever told a lie, Kallend (I have) What does that make you? What does that say about the goodness of your heart? The Bible says "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire."
  12. Jesus was a 1st Century Jew who lived by the Scripture. He believed it to be inerrant. He proved himself to be the Son of God through fulfilled prophesy (Matthew 11:10; 26:24, 53–56; Mark 9:12, 13; Luke 4:17–21; 18:31–33; 22:37; 24:44–47), forgiving of sins (something only God can do), his torture, crucifixion, death, resurrection, etc. He quoted the Old Testament (including Genesis) and believed it to be historical fact. Luke 11:51—Abel was a real individual Matthew 24:37–39—Noah and the flood (Luke 17:26, 27) John 8:56–58—Abraham Matthew 10:15; 11:23, 24 (Luke 10:12)—Sodom and Gomorrah Luke 17:28–32—Lot (and wife) Matthew 8:11—Isaac and Jacob (Luke 13:28) John 6:31, 49, 58—Manna John 3:14—Serpent Matthew 12:39–41—Jonah (vs. 42—Sheba) Matthew 24:15—Daniel and Isaiah
  13. But there is now. Most people these days have an automatic revulsion to thoughts of incest so those nice fellows at CARM have used meaningless terms like distant sister just to make everyone feel a little bit better about the whole thing. Are we still talking about incest in 1st generation times and whether it was right or wrong?
  14. I don't sidestep anything. I try and find the answers. When I can't, I'm not ashamed to tell you that I do not know. Again, there is no need for you to be rude and insulting. I don't think I've done that to you. If I have at some point, I appologize. Like I said before, just because it's not spelled out exactly how the first human beings populated the Earth, doesn't invalidate the Biblical account of creation.
  15. I'm saying I don't have all the answers. My faith isn't based on whether or not I can explain exactly how the human race progressed from its onset. It's more so based on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus much, much, much later who confirmed and validated the authenticity of the creation story in Genesis. There's no need to be rude and insulting in your reply. True. There was no prohibition against incest then. There was no need for there to be at that time.
  16. I don't believe I said anything with reference to the Bible concerning genetic mutation. I just said that people and the world were cursed after the fall of Adam and Eve. I quoted that previously. A read of Genesis will also tell you that the the world was a very different place prior to that.
  17. I don't really know dude. What's more important is where will you be going when you die?
  18. Sorry, I don't understand what you mean there. Are you talking about lesbians, 'cos I can dig that I'll admit. This confuses the heck out of me. Although, I think Cain marries a sister of Abel. Abel marries a sister of Cain. Bottom line is nobody knows for sure. Sisters married brothers, cousins, so on, so on... It was just stated as a contradiction before. Just b/c it's not explained in the detain that you might want does not make it a contradiction.
  19. Just because you don't understand doesn't mean that there are logical distortions. You just have a presupposition when you read it. I'll admit, I do too. Just opposite from yours.
  20. So why the term 'distant sister'. According to that explanation she was his full sister sharing both parents. I agree with Kallend here - the 'distant' part is just meaningless wordplay to fool the reader into thinking its slightly less incestuous. The term was "distant sisters" I think they're talking of sisters of both Cain and Abel intermarrying.
  21. How so? By the way... You ARE the "anti-paj."
  22. I don't know. Man and the world were cursed from that point on. So what are you trying to say? I'm not being racial. Remember the context of our conversation? We're talking about the first people on earth. They were all of one race.
