I went to Auburn.

The question was, "Would you shoot someone robbing your house?" If a person breaks into my house and I feel my life or the lives of my family are in danger, I will shoot to kill with no hesitation. Of course, the situation would dictate whether or not I would have to shoot. I would only shoot if I had to. If I had to pull the trigger, however, the person would not get up. He'd get two to the chest for starters.

Who did you have a crush on when you were a kid?

Yeah...I've got to say Colonel Wilma Deering in addition to Farrah Fawcett. Wilma was hot! -

In reply to: "Are laws broken during a boxing match?" Boxing is a more or less controlled enviroment. That's what they're there to do. That's what they're prepared to do. Fight. They have gloves. There's a referee. They "face" each other. I also agree, however, with Mike Tyson being charged for biting Holyfield's ear. There's a point where it ceases to be a sport/game and crosses the line.

The Interview With God..........................................

That's the easy way out to start name calling. I don't have to know a damn thing about hockey to know that was wrong. people in the stands, for the most part, condone fighting in hockey. That's what all of my friends who like the sport say about it. Everybody's waiting around to see the inevitable fight. That has nothing to do with the sport. I'm not trying to "troll" or whatever your geeky word is supposed to mean. I'm just adding my thoughts to the conversation. There are apparently a lot of other people who feel like I do on this issue.

I don't play hockey and never have but I'll go out on a limb and say that I don't believe sucker punching another player in the back of the head is written in the rulebook for hockey. Again, I've never read the rulebook.

I believe charges should be filed. I know people go to Hockey games to see the fights and that is what the crowd really wants but it doesn't make it right. I think Hockey has gotten out of control. People who do that should go to jail or be charged major penalties.

My little sister could make it through Jump School these days. I don't even think of it as an advanced school anymore. It's just a "punch the ticket" school. The standards of physical fitness have continually dropped over the years so as to be more inclusive. Nowdays, it's not as much about being combat ready as it is about promotion points for those who might not be promoted as fast as someone in a combat arms unit. It's a shame.

In reference to: "God gave us free will. It is not enough to love your neighbor if all there is love. So, he created Love, he created Hate and most importantly, he created FREE WILL. We say unto the Lord "Thy will be done.", but do you not see that this has no meaning if we did not have a will of our own? One that may contradict his at times?" *** Yes, but at the same time, God is in control of all things. He knew you before he made you. He knows your spirit. He knows what you're going to do even if you have the free will to reject him. I believe there is a duality in this matter but leaning in God's direction. Like I said before, Man, in his natural state, will always lean towards sin (i.e. We’re dead in our sin. What can a dead man do without God’s help?). If God chooses to reveal himself to someone and Jesus is accepted as Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit enters the heart and, if a sincere decision was made, the person will feel the push towards righteousness and doing good. He has a new nature in Christ. That's not to say that good deeds will get you anywhere in the eyes of God. It's all about Jesus.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll look them up. I'm trying to make it through a book by Norman Geisler and Ron Brooks right now called "When Skeptics Ask." It's also very interesting.

I concur.

I don't just come up with this shit. I'm not that smart. I'm just powered by "Google."

That's one step down from being required to implant a chip in you. They know your every move. Disquised as a convenient and efficient way to keep you "safe."

That asshole deserves a much more horrid death than our law will permit. Vaya con Dios John Muhammed!

I wouldn't be addicted to this shit anymore and would probably get a whole lot more productive stuff done.

I'm very proud to be a part of the long line of Jaybirds!

Great questions. These are some of the ones that I have a hard time getting my head around most of the time. It's pretty mindboggling. Certainly, people of different faiths and even people without faith in a God sometimes or possibly even most all the time do what would be considered by most to be righteous deeds or live a “good” life. No matter who they are, however, they will, at some point in their lives, break one of the Ten Commandments and, therefore, sin. This separates them from God. There are no inherently “righteous” people. They may try to be and that’s admirable but none exist or will exist that meet or maintain that standard. Jesus Christ is the only person that ever did. He laid his life down as a sacrifice for the short fallings of everyone else. Therefore, those whom God has chosen only gain righteousness through the blood of the sacrificial lamb (Jesus) and, therefore, gain reconciliation with the one true “holy” God. I’m speaking of the most important kind of righteousness that leads to eternal life and salvation. I’m speaking of the kind of righteousness that can only be obtained by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. A person who’s never heard of Christianity or Jesus doesn’t necessarily make him/her a bad person that will choose evil or "do the wrong thing" as you put it. It doesn't necessarily make him/her a child of God either, however. It’s the whole “pigmy in the rain forest thing where he’s never seen a white man or heard of Jesus. Will he/she go to heaven?” My answer is, I don’t know. The Bible says that the voice of God can be heard throughout all creation. Psalm 19:1-4 Therefore, God has been revealed to even that pigmy in the rain forest. God’s plan for that pigmy in the rainforest is not for us to understand, though. Like I said before, God has a plan for everyone. It’s not for us to question our maker.

In reference to: "Obviously, not all non-Christians choose to do evil deeds." Yes, but they deny their creator and are all sinners just like me. Just because they live a good life according to their own sets of standards doesn't make them "good." See ya.

I've really got to go now. Eating at a friend's house. It's time to eat over here on the East Coast. I'll be back. Here's something to add, though: First, Rom. 9:14 says there is "no unrighteousness with God." Second, it was necessary for God to make creatures He knew would sin of their own choice, to receive glory for His justice , grace, and mercy (by punishing some and saving those He chooses: Rom. 9:17, 22-23). Third, God is sovereign, and can do whatever He wants (9). Fourth, creatures do not have the right to question the creator (9:19-24). Fifth, God's wisdom and ways exceed our comprehension (11:33-36). We have to allow that we don't understand everything God does, and that there is no unrighteousness in God (9:14).

Gotta go....I shall return.

Holy crap...I'm with you on that one. Man (or angels) were created with free will. Man, however, is inherently evil or a sinner. Man will always "choose" the way of sin unless the spirit of God intercedes (If we're dead in our sin; what can a dead man do?) If God "chooses" to reveal himself to a person (the elect), that person will ultimately "choose" to accept him and choose the way of righeousness. That's how the "free will" of man fits into the equation. it was necessary for God to make creatures He knew would sin of their own choice, to receive glory for His justice , grace, and mercy (by punishing some and saving those He chooses: Rom. 9:17, 22-23). That's a reason for Satan.
