$70 for handcam? I've seen some really cool handcam angles, but on it's own I could never justify charging a customer that much. At our dz $85 gets you outside video on DVD with quality editing including music and personalized titles, and still pictures to boot. This whole handcam thing gives me the same feeling as Skyride does. "How can we make more money by giving our customers less service?" that's canadian dude.....conversion rates equel out my pics & stuff!

Anyone know anything about one of these? Straight stitch, single needle, old looking machine. Any comments would be helpful. I'm looking at buying a used one and know nothing about them. my pics & stuff!

Closed tuesdays. wed and thurs opens at noon. Monday and fridays at 10. I'm usually there during the week, and would love to fun jump. Not much of a regular weekday crowd, but you never know who's gonna just show up. Yesterday there were 5 caravan loads. Come on up and introduce yourself. Tomorrow may be a decent day. I didn't mean it to be harsh, but it's reality. I've done both, handy and outside, and of course, would prefer the outside. There was a time where I wasn't getting shit for vids....just too many video guys. So I bucked up and got my tandem rating. Turns out I love it, and I still do both. I've done plenty of handy to know you can make it look pretty damn good. Reality is that it's just gonna get bigger. It's cheap, and one less slot to fill. DZO's that are all about the $ are soon to move to this. I'd say your best bet is move to another DZ, or start doing tandems. good luck, JJ my pics & stuff!

hope this doesn't sound to raw, but maybe get a tandem rating and start doing them yourself. Then do video for fun, and the here and there tandem vids. No point in getting bitter about it, if it's not this person doing it, it will be another. my pics & stuff!

On your back for tandem openings??
linestretch replied to airborne82nd's topic in Photography and Video
I'm about 6-8 feet away, the lens is a .5 and as for the trap door, it's because of the drogue collapsing when the release is pulled. You start to speed up cuz of no more drogue...it's the collapsed drogue that's pulling the bag off your back. The strong doesn't drop as much cuz the drogue stays inflated until the canopy is outa the bag. my pics & stuff! -
that rocks! my pics & stuff!

have you tried...or do you normally use....anti fog on the lens....like rainX? It's not a issue up here, just the rain..but that's a different story. my pics & stuff!

Ditto. The surge method in high and bumpy winds is sketchy, and I won't do them. But as for turning onto final, that only works up until the DZO fires you for doing something he thinks you shouldn't be doing....which is a bummer, cuz they rock. Oh, and I do think the student gets something outa it...I've had more than a handful of students tell me that the landing was awesome, the drop right before we planed out really catches them. my pics & stuff!
