  1. Rob, this is a good one. I had around 500 when i started doing them, and felt that I wasn't really cut out to do them....and I'd like to think I'm heads up. I agree with the aussie's that 500 should be a minumum....but they changed their thinking. It's just like the rating itself.....some should get it, and some who have it shouldn't. my pics & stuff!
  2. 1100 last year, and that was only 9 months of jumping. my pics & stuff!
  3. I think the problem is the colors of your rig.... my pics & stuff!
  4. ok, here's the funny part.......midgetdivet is a rigger! my pics & stuff!
  5. better yet, use a shoe lace.... but don't use yours...yours are too small, since they are on kid shoes. Go to the adult section and get some adult size shoe laces, those will be long enough. my pics & stuff!
  6. Kirk, I've take a few and they 'can' be a handful. You REALLY need to have you shit together in order to do this. I took JR a few times and even though he has partial use of his legs, the first one with him was ugly! Just something to think about. my pics & stuff!
  7. yeah, well I heard you are gay, is that true? my pics & stuff!
  8. and thumb wars. Those 2 are the best EVER!!!! my pics & stuff!
  9. I worked at this DZ over the summer of '04, and before I got there, I had my reservations about the place. But, after just a few days there, they were all gone. The owner, Andy Whitcomb has put soooo much into the place, and has very high hopes for the future. I have NEVER felt more welcome, or wanted at a DZ before, and this will always stick with me. I really think that in the next few years, socal will have 3 major DZ's to choose from, and this one will be my choice!
  10. geez, good thing I kept reading, I was almost posted nice ass my pics & stuff!
  11. a canadian tired of drinking? my pics & stuff!
  12. we were using .3's and they worked awesome. Really no need for more angle of view unless you are SHORT, and your arms are only like 2 feet long. my pics & stuff!
  13. i put a sticker of me and my kid in mine. The bummer is that chicks think I'm married. UGH!!! my pics & stuff!
  14. go with it upright. I don't remember having problems with the way camera was in regards to gearing up and exit. BUT, I was jumping from a roomy plane. If it's a tight ass cessna, might be a little different. RiggerRob would be one to talk to. He makes them and uses them outa the small planes, and he's a fatty. As for rotating, the video while editing, it will suck. The aspect ratio will be outa whack....that's what I've found. my pics & stuff!
  15. that's the best part!!! my pics & stuff!
  16. my size! 5-9 and 175lbs, but I hate cesnas. And always thought Rob was big on the big side of big. my pics & stuff!
  17. saw it too, and gotta agree with you. It was hideous. I think that's the only way people would have ever watched, being made fun of. my pics & stuff!
  18. watched a guy flair with both front risers. He got a helo ride out of it...plus the femur rod. my pics & stuff!
  19. yuppers, Guam. Jason was telling me about your helmets. Is he working for you now? my pics & stuff!
  20. I wore a handy on the front when helping a coworker get crosstrained. If you could get the student to hold it in front of them, man, the vid is awesome. Mine was bitchen, but I had a clue as what to do on exit, and where to film. my pics & stuff!
  21. dude, that means you are paying in more ways than one!!! my pics & stuff!
  22. i disagree, the pocket that was put on my sabre1 worked miracles. It may be a bandaid, but I don't give a shit. It openned like a champ after that. my pics & stuff!
  23. I agree with pretty much everything Dangles said. I've been doing it full time in the US for 2.5 years, and for the most part love it. But totally agree that if you don't fun jump, it will kill you. I've actually done ok and have been able to save and survive. But am to the point where I need a break, and am not planning on working in the sport for the winter. Sometimes breaking into it, you have to work where you don't get as many jumps and are at the bottom of the list. You pretty much have to prove yourself. One more thing I would add, get your riggers ticket. Over the winter, you'll have a little more income when it's raining. my pics & stuff!
  24. I took my sweet ass time and it took 5 years. But obvously, you can do it much faster. The thing I do like about the way I went about it is that I got a wide variety of techniques of how different riggers did things, and formed my own opinions and techniques, as oposed to just learning from one guy and having his ideas drilled into you. Wow, that was a long sentence. Good luck. my pics & stuff!
  25. if it's raining, depends on the clouds and altitude. I've done a ton of tandems in the rain. It hurts just to let you know. And the prozac, no problem. Have fun. my pics & stuff!
