  1. that's what has worked for me. If you're good enough at it, you save enough to fuck off during the winter and not work (like it's a choice). my pics & stuff!
  2. I think it cheapens the sport. I'm tired of hearing the excuse "it's skydiving". IMO I'd like to see skydiving looked at as a professional sport. BTW, why do you say that skydiving isn't a sport? well, I guess competition skydivng is a sport, but just jumping for the fun of it? I don't see it as a sport. Is scuba diving a sport? Just me I guess. I see it as recreation. my pics & stuff!
  3. I think the idea rocks! I've done a few, and would love to do more. As for cheapens the sport? It's fucking skydiving, not really a sport. ALL DZ's should do them. my pics & stuff!
  4. For starters, I was on the dive and filmed it. I knew about him making his 100th jump several weeks before it happened....it wasn't a secret....so don't think it was ALL you getting the ball rolling. Second, I agree it's fucked you got axed. I didn't know anything about it until someone mentioned it today. That sucks dude, and I'm sorry. Third, Jim has pulled some shit like this on me, and I agree, it's fucked. And finally, there are lingering affects you had on the DZ Brad. If you can't see it, then man, you got problems. I'm not saying it's all you, the DZ does have politic issues that bug the shit outa me. Just saying I see both sides. my pics & stuff!
  5. i had a terminal (no drogue) reserve deployment that put me to sleep for a few seconds. I wish that one had sniveled. my pics & stuff!
  6. Yes, and it rocks. As for skydiving, not sure how it would be of any use. You need a slower shutter speed to get the effect cuz the flash fires at the end of the shutter closing. I took these of my kid with a shutter speed of around 1/20th and he was spazzing like kids do. Pretty cool effect. my pics & stuff!
  7. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1768092#1768092 that should help a little. It's really very simple and most of all.....CHEAP! my pics & stuff!
  8. what were some of the problems? I thought the camera guy on N.W. Express had it down!....he he he, oh yeah, that's me. my pics & stuff!
  9. guys (and gals), make your own. It's simple and CHEAP!!!!! my pics & stuff!
  10. my old canon A2 had the mounting bolt (i said mounting) pressing on the top of my noggin pretty damn hard(.....he he , i now said hard) so that when it did fire, I felt it. I could feel the whole thing in free fall...but the dent in my head wasn't too cool. my pics & stuff!
  11. that's pretty damn funny....you didn't have to remind them. Actually, I've already stolen all their music from Napster. my pics & stuff!
  12. I found an Ipod in the parking lot of Perris during the nationals. PM me with the what's on it, what was with it, and what day you lost it and I'll gladly return it. Manifest made an announcement but no one came looking. my pics & stuff!
  13. I have never used the cheapo ones, but do know that when my sight is off, I know cuz the prizm deals in the glass are off. If the sight is moved to the side, the center of the sight is no longer in the center(I know that's a horribel explanation). It's worth the mula in my opinion...and I'm a cheap bastard. my pics & stuff!
  14. Here's some goodies from a friggin bitchen weekend. Thanx to everyone, I had a great time! Hope to see you all here next year. JJ my pics & stuff!
  15. Your right, we should encourage low inexperienced skydivers to do high risk stunts! NOT! The good news is that there is a real possibility that they will get their name, information and equipment they used published for FREE in Parachutist under "Incidents" Yeah, you're right...I'm an idiot. I didn't realize I was encouraging lowtime jumpers. That being said.....NO ONE TRY THIS!!!! my pics & stuff!
  16. ummmm, that's rough. I think that someone did it under that small of a canopy is kick ass. I did one several months ago and the pilot had a stiletto 120. It worked awesome....except for the line twists. Yeah, there are risks, but none of them are to you.....relax my pics & stuff!
  17. how about trying another lens. Could possibly be the lens if causing problems. my pics & stuff!
  18. EVERYTHING he said and more! I've had to undo the chest strap after opening several times cuz it now has become a neck strap, and the belly band is the new chest strap. I'm very good about having the leggies tight and the belly band low, but it still happens. I know the sigma's don't do it....so what's the friggin deal. my pics & stuff!
  19. around 700ish total...that would've been 200ish with video. yes and yes. It was perfect timing for me. It is scary that jumpers are soo damn quick to put a camera on their heads. edited to add what was just added. my pics & stuff!
  20. I'll be there filming 4,8,10 & 16 way....yeeeehaw bitches! my pics & stuff!
  21. I tried Gordo, but I think he's looking for someone with less jumps....he he he. my pics & stuff!
  22. your mom's finally in the club!!! congrats bro, now start using that camera suit. my pics & stuff!
  23. I'm not seeing what you are talking about, or asking for. Does anyone have a pic of it? I have a slink attaching the pc bridle and the canopy. Is this what your talking about? my pics & stuff!
  24. you mean back to the wind, slow backflip to your belly in the relative wind? if so, step out with your head up, arched, and hips out forward, sorta leaning back. Leave your hands in front of you, or by your side, and legs straight. You'll start to roll back, and as you do, just bring your hands back up as if in a regular arch with your hands up....lazy W style I guess. Really easy....nuttin to it. my pics & stuff!
