Hey Wendy, Basically your saying, if I really understand your post that the person(s) who make the $250,000 30% CAN more afford to pay it. I'm really not trying to be argumentive but but sales tax is sales tax, chances are a person who makes more will pay more in sales tax...as a % of what they have it will be lower but it will be more dollars. So really your postion boils down to they make more they should pay more. My point is they DO a lot more. As for your "rich parents" wealth in America last (big wealth) about three generations...then the people that do have drive take it from the dead beats. I admire your stance I truely believe you are one of the few people who would gladly pay more in taxes as she makes more! (Note for all I know Wendy makes several million a year already and smiles as she hands it over) Thanks for a serious reply Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Can one of the well educated Libs here cut this to pieces and explain that it is all wrong? I'm being serious: "The top 1% of Americans pay 40% of all federal income taxes. The next 9% of income earners pay another 30%. So the top 10% pays 70% of the taxes; the bottom 40% pays close to nothing." -Dinesh D'Souza If these numbers are close to true why would you ask that group to pay even more? 10% are paying 70% of the taxes - is it nothing more than a liberal idea that they should pay more no matter how hard they work? Seems to me we have a spending problem not a taxing more problem. Also the number seems to be a 700 billion dollar cost to not tax the "rich" and 2 trillon dollar to not tax the middle class. Does the liberal class (I'm being serious here) really believe that everyone who makes $250k a year got it unfairly? If the above numbers are correct what is the real justification to asking 10% to pay even more than 70%? Is it a simple they have more to give because they have more so they should? They already are giving more. Closing. The middle class does need a break, it is the engine of our country. If the gov. would spend the money wisely (which they won't) and I knew that additional taxes would go directly to a tax break for the middle class....perhaps this could make some sense....but it won't and it doesn't. Thanks Andy and yes was the idea. At some point provided that jumper stays current and is jumping they shouldn't have more to prove. Look none of this is easy. Putting together a really high end 100 way is hard I'm sure. Lot's of people can do a basic 100 way...but making it a hard 100....well thats different. In the end whatever happens in the big way world people will come and go. There will always be a group climbing....and group on top....and one on there way down. I guess it all depends on the organizers to decide where the applicate is. It is up to the applicate to decide if they are willing to do whatever the organizer says they have to do to prove it. That will never change. Maybe just being a little more happy and cheerful while they are doing it would go a long way by both parties Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

+1 but arguing with Quade is a lose/lose situation. While I would not do his "job" to suggest that he is fair and balanced about these topics w/b to suggest that Fox News is...... OTOH he's human Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

ROTFLOL, where did I say ANYTHING about economics and YOU???? I just asked if you really jumped - perhaps the wrong forum to ask in - but you have taken that and tried to say that I said you don't know anything about economics? To use your tact I should say something like... These liberaltards just can't keep there facts straight BTW with the shear # of post you do I can understand your not being able to keep up with who attacked you over your economics. Ahh playing with the pigs is so much fun, but some of us still work and jump. Alway always keep in mind I don't give a fuck Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

MY MY MY a little over sensitive to not getting to jump a whole lot, guess what. I don't give a fuck. It was satire...perhaps poor but nothing more. You post an incredible amount. Big the bigges thing is that if anyone say anythting that you don't like they are a neo con....what bs. You don't no a damn thing about me or my views in depth. BUT one point was correct...your (I bleieve it was you) I should stay out of here. Hey I got five in this weekend, hope you got more. Hey Mike let me be clear....I don't give a fuck - how's that? But I admire your stance....write 97,000 post arguing with him but stand up for his rights in the non-jumping forum. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Hey Billy this may or may not fit in here.....but why did YOU stop doing them? (Big ways) Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

That’s a good question and one that doesn’t have any easy answer. Is it unfair to validate someone’s credentials? No. Would you validate someone’s credentials that you jump with often? Of course the question becomes how often is often enough? I might say 3 times a year, you might say 6. “Is it the idea of having to document/prove your skills/experience/currency that is problematic” Perhaps the problem is how often do you need to “document/prove/experience/currency.” How often do you need to go back to a camp? I haven’t done a camp in 5 years. You “prove” your skills when you do the jump. “the fact that it's called a waiver and only required of those who aren't taking the camp route?” Most of the people that are doing the big ways HAVE done the camp thing. I did three in Ca. They can require it and they can wave it. FWIW many big way jumpers are chatting about all this. Most are scared to post any feelings because of a fear of not getting on the next event they want to. (Believe it or not I want to keep doing some big ways) Let me close like I started these are good questions. Organizers have every right to do whatever they want to do. If they want you to go to camp no matter what you have done in the past, that there right. If they want you to apply for a wavier IF you don’t go to the camp that’s there right. I certainly hope that TSR, P3 camps, P3 100 ways…..all go well and are successful, I wish them all the best luck in the world. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Thanks for your post, Bill got the same e-mails I'm sure and he reads well. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Well THATS why I put this in my post There absoluty WAS a requirement - that requirment could be WAVED. I may or may not have been granted that wavier, Short of asking for the wavier of the requirement it was stated. So to suggest that there wasn't a requirment IMO is false Bill. I'm all for this event, it is a great event, the people are great. I hope that it goes wonderful. I can't be any more supportive. In the last several days it has been brought to my attention that there are three groups in big ways. 1. West coast jumpers who would never travel to the east coast for a camp (They didn't have to they had P3) 2. East coast jumper who GIVEN a choice wouldn't travel to the west coast for a camp (They may not have to in the future) 3. Jumpers who will just go where they want to go and really don't care about the politics of the whole thing I fall in #2. If I can't get on a 100 way (or 500 way) because I didn't go out to a camp on the West coast than so be it. I really enjoy big ways, I LIKE the people. Closing if the organizers want to have a rule that someone hop up and down on one leg while they apply THATS up to them - I support it. I may elect to not hop up and down like I use to is all and more people seem to be having the same feelings. Love and kisses Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Be interesting to see where some of the former team Capt fall. Certainly there are west coast capt that will stay mainly on the west coast. But if there really is a east big way camp system there will have to develope a "group" like the west. I wish more of the "old time" big way jumpers would speak up. I have heard the comment that even if a east big way starts in time it will be expensive like the west and the "climb the wall" to get your slot in records will be the same....it probably has to be that way. To bad they lock the other thread, it seem to be more active than this one........... Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

The Future of World Team

Is anyone getting "rich" from bigways? Maybe not "rich" but more and more seem to attempting to make a larger part of there income from it. Nothing wrong with that at all. The events cost more period. I started with POP's, did 3 camps, 4 TSR's, 4 K jumps, ect, ect. I've been on over 200 hundred way jumps. (There are a lot of people that have more, I know) And I was lucky enough to do the 400 way. I didn't apply to TSR this year and I hate it. It's a great event. These guys/gals put on a super event. But the P3 requirement turned me off. Yes I could have asked for a pass on the requirment but the truth is I can do 3 other smaller events for the cost of that event. For example Roger and Louis events are GREAT the jumps a hard but doable, we will do 10-15 jumps and the ATTITUDE is good. When I was chasing a world record I was willing to pay just about any price to help get "that slot" It was a hell of a trip full of LOT's of DRAMA. Glad I did it. Be interesting to see what happens but as long as there are records there will be people willing to pay the price for a slot just as there will be people that paid the price before that are unwilling to re-pay there price. And hence my post. Should BJ decide to support/start and alternative to P3 which has been, really the only game in town, more people will be exposed to trying big ways. P3 has done a great job as far as I can tell, lot's of strong people run the events. But it is Perris based. For an East coast person unwilling to take a red eye It's a Wed to Mon event. By possibly having something on the east coast you can't help but make it easier for someone to attend a camp. The real question will be does BJ have the desire to "keep going" he may not have the desire to rebuild the wheel. Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Why have Perris Fury when Airspeed has been doing so well? *** I'd bet that there will now be an alternative to the Perris P3 camps on the east coast. I'd bet that camp will be substantially less expensive. (At least to start with) It should end up being better for the big way world. Still it is sad to see all this coming about. I believe they fly on a private runway but does anyone have the IDF for the location, I'd love to fly over for a day of jumping but can't figure out where it is! Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little

Jeez this is what really get's to me. I really, really respect Bill. He's smart, can make great sense out of hard subjects. But it seems that he really believes that if your a conservative you can't believe in what he believes in. The only "problem" that Bill and I have is that - it seems- that his solution must mean being taxed more. I'm glad that Bill is happy to pay more taxes, I just believe we pay enough taxes to do what we need to do. I have to laugh at the idea that all conservatives are gay hating, energy pigs, don't want to help the poor, who trash the enviroment....ect, ect. Bill your just not as different on these issues as it feels good to think you are! Kevin Keenan is my hero, a double FUP, he does so much with so little
