FYI.....it is not ONE packing lesson - mine consisted of almost 4 hours of packing. They get you to a certain point - mess it up and let you do it....then mess up yours and let you do it again. Then they take it a step further, mess it up and let you do it, etc. I took notes as best I could (normally during our pee breaks ) and it was VERY helpful when I was home sitting in my living room trying to remember it all myself with NO ONE THERE TO HELP. It's not a bad thing...I think you will appreciate it in the long run. Blue ones Ang~ Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well of course the best advice is to keep jumping with someone who "knows what they are doing" because although you may feel "good" - there is a better chance than not that you are sliding all over the place (I did ) and then just jump, jump and jump some more. Don't expect anything other that everything comes with time.....I now have almost 80 "sit/freefly" jumps under my belt and am JUST feeling "good about it. OK......11:20am Florida time and I am wondering what is the dilio with the webcam.....my guy just called and was standing right in front of the camera and I couldn't see him .......Is it my computer or are others not up and running yet.....We MUST talk with these boys about there "late Rantoul nights" Can't wait to see today's activities! Well I was talking with KatieBear and am now in cahoots with Skymama to try and make arrangements as well....I really want to go and maybe I'll ask my papa for the flight instead of my normal noring old JcPenney Gift certificate . Well hopefully when Betsy gets back from Rantoul (WHICH I HEAR IS NOT SUCKING ) maybe she can put another list together like this thread was started on last year. Well I bum rides (and share gas bills), I sleep in RV's and shower at the DZ (most of the time) and eat whatever leftovers anyone has laying around so not like I am traveling in "high style" to do this. I also am a VERY GOOD PLANNER and stick to my BUDGET (yes...I have a jump budget) AND the deal for me is, no matter the weather, I suck it up and pack for myself. If that means I sweat like a pig or miss a load cause I'm too slow.....OK fine, so I also have a great job and half days on Fridays so I can always fit a ong weekend in...... Maybe I'm just lucky but I have also made lots of new friends that help with this "traveling bug" Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

As far as I know you have to have a packer/rigger person sign off on your card for it to be legit. (at least that better be the case since that is what I was told back in the day) but it was good....one on one packing so any and all questions you had got answered and after 8 pack jobs and my knees being RAW, I jumped it and felt happy that I could do it.....packing has become my friend these days - it's my rule if I want to travel. Want to travel - must suck it up and pack for yourself.....but at the end of a long day of jumping and my fingers just not wanting to grab the stows, I don't mind batting the eyes a little and seeing if it will get me a little extra help (shoot me.....it's the one time I'll play the "cute girl" card and not be ashamed to admit it )...and I have no problem backing up the eye batting with a nice cold beer of choice either

You HAVE to have pictures - they are a MUST! Just sorry they didn't turn out better for you but it's one of those memories that won't fade - trust me! Keep working towards that A license girl - can't wait to jump with ya either or travel to our first Boogie together. Ooops...my bad. Isn't it cold in Eloy around December? Brrr.....makes me shake in my shorts just thinking about it. I sure hope I can make it out there - I need more info (I'm an info freak) as far as where people stay and if anyone would want to share expenses. Gotta have at least a tentative plan......

ha ha ha to guy above.....silly! CRW is canopy relative work and if you love your canopy - then I highly suggest trying it at least once. At least experience what the ride feels like. I did and can't stop thinking about it RW is relative work....I'm guessing the best way to describe it is the infamous belly flying. New to the sport? No question is dumb. YUP....graduated AFF March 1 (that included 3 tandems and 11 jumps - had to repeat Level 3 and 4 and then did a high altititde before hop and pop). I just got bit by the bug and HARD so I have been jumping (and traveling) quite a bit. Then the new requirement for licenses came out and I got it in my head that I wanted to hit 200 jumps and get my D before they changed. Not really sure why the rush - more or less just because it is a goal to shoot for I think but also, I JUST LOVE JUMPING. I LOVE EVERY ASPECT OF THIS SPORT and I want to be good at it. So I travel around so to keep me senses aware (and not get COMFORTABLE with one place), I jump with all sorts of people and continue to improve on my skill, took a canopy control class and actually had some of my first coaching a few weeks ago. YUP...I'm a jumping fool this year so far and having the best time ever! I still have LOTS to learn but I think I have learned enough that I can share that with someone and help them grasp the concept. Safety, of course, is always most important and everyone has been so great with me, I can only hope to continue to "spread the love". Take care....D Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

OK - many of you many be familiar with me and know that I started skydiving in Feb and QUICKLY went into freeflying upon getting my first license (thanks to lots of great friends help). So my pal who started THE WEEK BEFORE ME (yet has just 52 jumps when I am at 165) finally got his own gear, we did our FIRST jump together and then another pal asked if he wanted to try sitting since he is "itching" to freefly. He is GREAT in freefall, has been since day 1 so me and another pal put together a plan to take him on his first SIT. We do a 3 way train but with he and front guy knee locked and me flying float. We pulled it off nicely, knee lock released but I hung on a bit to help him feel the wind on his knees and then I released him. He tossed a tiny bit in the air then had an upright position. Kinda balled up, backsliding a bit but he was holding it on his FIRST TRY. I can't even tell you how excited I was for him - seeing his face when he was flying face to face with me and NOT belly to earth. Oh to have had a camera! I WAS/AM SO PROUD OF HIM and even more proud that I was there for his first time and was able to help him (kinda sorta). It was the absolute best feeling ever to know that ME, little old me, with just about 80 free fly jumps could help someone feel it for the first time. I almost felt like a proud mama (or about what I am guessing that might feel like. So to Jameson I say this, glad we started this adventure together and glad to be there with you on a FIRST. Welcome to the dark side my friend (isn't that what the cool kids call it ) Perhaps I have found my "partner".......
