I am going to be in some crazy place called Mary Esther this weekend (Ft. Walton Beach) and want to know where is the closest place I could make a jump. Any clue? Help a sista out gang.....I haven't gone a weekend without jumping since I started in February.........Beeeeeg hugs

CRAP...had a flight within my grasp but by the time I got info to book it - the rate jumped up again. Don't trust Priceline cause they play with times so much...so not gonna happen ...not this time at least. I'm sure I'll be in the same place at the Gliderz and Badfish eventually.....Until then

If you found a true head down in just 3 jumps....good for you - I'm jealous! I just started my attempts at headdown this weekend, making each with a very good flyer and just forsee it taking me a bit longer then grasping "sit". Be careful, I was all excited thinking I did a solo and was on my head but then did the same exit with my boyfriend who shot video and I was on my back (with my little neck stretched as far back as it could go making me THINK I was on my head...it was kinda funny after the fact). I would definitely make a jump with someone who could shoot video for you so you can SEE what you are doing in the air. Please be careful - lots of things to consider when we are in the air and trying something new. It all comes with jumps so keep on jumping my friend. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Thanks guys.....I tend to still favor the "conservative" side (if there is such a thing in skydiving) when it comes to learning new things. I am probably more concerned about "hurting" someone else then I am about hurting myself....I'm with ya on safety and I've got LOTS of time to learn. My first year isn't even over yet and look at where I am. Sitting strong and stable with a Sugar Glider...yippy! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

I'm there with ya on that one....but was wondering if the weather had been better if Rantoul would have seemed better. It was cool to see but SDC, like I said when starting this thread, was simply AMAZING! DUH...yes I was in Rantoul. Just for one day on Friday the 8th and you might have seen me...I was the golf cart videoing the other golf cart flying a neon yellow Caos canopy..... Oh what bored skydivers will do in bad weather ...were you there. Our truck was parked on the corner by Mirage and PD tents and that is where we were most of the time.......This was a great little long weekend getaway.....on the SunnyDee World Tour 2003 Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well I visited Rantoul a day and after crap weather and only 1 jump, I headed to Skydive Chicago where I had an ABSOLUTE BLAST! This place for sure is everything I've heard, and then some...... My boyfriend started helping me with headdown (gonna take some time for sure) but then I was able to make a jump with Jen from the Sugar Gliderz and wanted to really do my best (since my sit is still sorta new). I ROCKED.....if I say so myself........ We had a nice exit, stayed right there with her the entire time and then were close enough to do double foot on foot docks, we released and I was able to then take her foot (my first front sit dock that I held and didn't bobble) right before break off. Can you say "ALL SMILES". I am still beaming and thanks to my wonderful boyfriend, I have video of the entire jump. GOOD STUFF...... Now that I have "dabbled" with Head down and felt the speed, I just want to be real careful with that next progression. When I can try something new and be so "unstable" and pop into my sit like it was nothing - I am very happy. Things are going good - but I continue to jump my ass off and not get frustrated.....we all have our learning curve. Blue ones~ Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well everyone has SAID that Skydive Chicago is a "skydivers heaven" and I think that is an understatement.....this place is great! From the place itself (the history you can follow through the pictures on the walls, the YUMMY food, the bad ass camping, the HGUE packing area, the abundent landing area), to the people, to the 3 Otters, to the vibe. IT WAS GREAT FUN and I recommend it to anyone who has not been. It is worth the trip! If I could thank Roger I would but now we can thank Rook and Missy and the rest of the gang for keeping the SDC spirit alive. This is the place of all places...in my eyes! GET TO SKYDIVE CHICAGO and feel the vibe my friends! Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...

Well my trip to Rantoul in general was a SURPRISE...I was planning to be a Skydive Chicago but since I was so close........Saw it on Friday, made 1 jump (crap weather), said "first time Hi's to lots of DZ.comers (Sangiro, BBarnhouse, LadySkyDiver) and also to come of the "regulars" I'v seenon the "SunnyDee 2003 Tour........and had TOO MUCH fun tooling around on our golf cart. Did video for TJ from Mirage as he flew his Caos canopy behind his golfcart ALL AROUND WFFC.....Good fun! Didn't get many pics (gosh darn it) but was glad to be part of the activities, for at least a day. Dreams become reality, one choice at a time...
