I love tequila. Just got off the phone with my girlfriend, oh so far away. I think I'll waddle into the kitchen and have a sip.

If you steal top secret material and take it out of secure spaces, you're a piece of shit betraying a trust that was placed in you. Copy, original, handwritten copy, or whatever. The copy or no copy question is completely non-sequitur. He's a traitorous piece of shit and should spend at LEAST as much time in jail as this asshole who stole Civil War documents or anybody else who steals classified material. This theft is much more benign than traitor Burger's - if a theft may be described at benign...less malign would be far better. None of these documents were classified. Burger walking the streets a free man is a disgrace to our legal system. Equal justice under the law my ass. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Perhaps you should read the indictment. Mr. Libby was never charged with revealing the identity of a covert agent. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I fail to follow your reasoning here. Mr. Armitrage admitted leaking Ms. Plame's info...and you're saying that because Mr. Libby et al did their jobs well, he isn't being charged? I don't get it. Admission to what you state is a crime should equate to charges being filed against the man. I see no reason to cease viewing those caling for Mr. Libby's and Mr. Rove's heads over the Plame-non-affair as anything more than partisan morons who don't know what they're talking about. You didn't answer my question. One wonders why you would ever allude to the war in Iraq being out of the news. It's in the news daily - as it should be. Mr. Cold Cash, the GATT disaster, and other major stories aren't in the headlines whlle idiotic non-issues dominate. Political headlines are boring because of it. Add a 'the majority of...' to my original post and it's a correct statement.

Those with kids have a far greater vested interest and responsibility towards the education of their child.

Quick question for you, Bill. If Ms. Plame really was covert, then why hasn't Mr. Armitrage been charged with a crime, being as he's publicly admitted leaking her name? If those calling for Mr. Rove's head over the matter were serious about their cries of anguish over national security (they're not) then they'd be wondering the same thing. Until somebody answers that, I'll consider it the 'Plame non-scandal.' Very much like the attorney-firing non-scandal. No congressional approval is required for firing these attorneys now under scrutiny, by the way. The GATT round failure is far more interesting and its effects on the world far greater than stupid non-scandals. So is Mr. Jefferson's "Cold Cash" - haven't seen that in the news lately. The impending SS budget fiasco is also a far more interesting topic. The failed 100 day agenda of Ms. Pelosi and friends - another interesting tidbit that got no coverage. Instead we've got non-scandals on issues that most voters have never even heard of dominating the political headlines. Does the name Scooter Libby ring a bell? This non-issue about the dismissal of the attorneys is quite funny in the abstract. It's amazing how none of the mainstream media is asking the leftist morons why a president should not have the power to dismiss political appointees for any reason he desires. Non issues such as this firing of attorneys have a front seat in the political news while interesting issues such as the utter failure of the Doha round of the GATT, the Congressman Jefferson saga ("Cold Cash"), "How 'bout that first 100 days?", SS reform, and the like take a back seat. Disgusting. One of several reasons I'm not enjoying politics these days. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

You're still not getting it. In school vouchers programs, the $$ the state intended for use for a student's education is given to that student's parent or guardian. Then the guardian makes the choice of which school gets that $$. The $$ is limited to expenditure for education, but the $$ is that of the parent or guardian to expend - not the state. Taxpayer money was collected and disbursed for a purpose. Taxpayer money is collected to pay government employees - and in some cases to give tax refunds as well. What the recipient of those taxpayer $$ does with that money is their concern and nobody elses. Just as the use of the $$ given to a parent under a voucher scheme. Money is NOT directly appropriated to an institution, rather to a parent for use in the education of their child. Because money is not directly appropriated to a school that might happen to be secular or non-secular, no law affecting an establishment of religion is made when a voucher program is in place. Rehmwa has it correct - those opposing school voucher programs do NOT have the best interests of the children, whose parents fought to get vouchers for their children, in mind. They have their own political agendas in mind and would rather keep that kid in a substandard school - to his/her detriment - than have their own interests take a back seat. Disgusting. Incorrect. Vouchers in most cases go to the parents, who in turn give the voucher to a school. The parents - not the government - make the decision how the $ are spent. The taxpayer with direct control over tax revenues being expended on his or her behalf - dear God what a nightmare for liberals. Your argument is akin to stating a person can't take a portion of their tax return and donate it to a Church. Or stating a government employee couldn't donate his or her hard earned $$ to a Church. Ludicrous by any standard. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

On what charge? This thread is inane - just as the political headlines have been over the last few months. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

If you don't want the funding removed, then lobby your local representatives to changing the funding paradigm in conjunction with a vouchers program. Keeping a motivated student in a failing school against his will to help out unmotivated ones is stupid. Removal of the student improves the student:teacher ratio - something the NEA always touts. I've thought hard about reality - voucher programs are a great thing. They are a 'now' solution for motivated parents and students. The long term solution for the rest should be addressed as well, but is not really germane to the vouchers issue. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

I assume you're speaking of the model where schools are funded by their respective student populations. Those models assume the need for those dollars is proportional to the student population, therefore the reduced population reduces the $ going to the school. Reduced student population = reduced funding. Your problem is not with the vouchers if that's your counterargument to them, rather with the funding model. If funding itself would solve the problem (it won't) then the status quo would see improvement in failing schools following that line of thought. We've already seen that throwing $ at the problem hasn't solved anything. Vouchers offer parents and students that choose to use them a way out of a failing system. They're a 'now' solution for a few vice a long term solution for many. Quite a bit better than no solution at all. This is one of the dumbest articles I have ever read. The concept of an all volunteer force seems to elude the author. The purported 'party of choice' apparently doesn't think the President's family should have a choice in joining the Armed Forces. The mere fact that GWB's detractors can publish such a pathetic attack article in any major newspaper, even one as blatantly liberal as the LA TIMES, is a testament to the sad state of education in America. Fucktards. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

Hmm...that would depend upon my mood I would think.... I like Herradura Reposado quite a bit...Patron is fantastic, though I prefer their Reposado to their Blanco...Don Julio has a superb anejo and Corazon makes an excellent one as well. So many tequilas...so little time... I could go for some right now! Dammit! Now I need some...it's been quite a long time... Anne Coulter's column today on this was hilarious and quite telling. Even if you don't like her and her acidic humor, it's a good read and an incredible compare and contrast on how crimes are prosecuted and not prosecuted. Clicky

I didn't follow the case that much. If his conviction is upheld, then I don't think he should get a pardon. I can think of a couple of Border Patrol agents in prison now who should get pardons, however. Not one convicton for breach of national security in the Plame-gate affair. Only for lying. Hmph. Berger-gate was far more damaging to national security and got 1/10 the press coverage. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
