I'm against the mandatory use of the death penalty, and indeed think it used to often for fiscal purposes, though I agree w/St. Thomas Aquinas in that it is not immoral. I have an utter hatred of any worthless scumbag who would harm a child, but incarceration is the far cheaper option with regards to these fucks. The budget deficit is about to explode - making it mandatory to kill these assholes just isn't worth the expense. I agree with St. Aquinas that the death penalty is acceptable philosphically. However, in the fiscal environs in which we're in today, I feel that it's definitely overused. THe nation is broke and death penalty opponents have made it more expensive to kill someone than to incarcerate them for life. Believing fully that the national debt is one of the greatest threats we face as a nation, I cannot helpbut oppose the death penalty in most cases these days. Changed my mind on this for fiscal and not philosphical reasons. The death penalty should not be abolished nor its use totally eliminated, however. My US$0.02.

I used to watch him regularly, but ceased doing so years ago. I disagree with a lot of what he says and agree with a lot of it too. In person he is an egotistical ass. One thing about him, though, is that he is quite effective at what he does and makes a good living doing it.
