  1. Namibia rocks. Damned good beer there. Great people. I'm jealous as hell. Where did you go? Etosha, Tweyfelfontein, Swakopmund? Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  2. Hmmm....I think the man's a liar. To each his own. Glad you listened to his speech - I only heard some expcerpts. He should be working to make 19 July a national DUI Awareness day rather than spewing such nonsense. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  3. No dude, I don't make fun of speech impediments. Compare the oratorical ability of Dean vs. Bush and Dean is the obvious winner. When I refer to Dean as 'idiot-boy' I'm referring to his proposed foreign policy, economic views, social programs views, etc. If I were to talk about Bush idiocy, I'd start with the structure of his second tax cut, not rescinding that EO that Adarand decision was derived from, those steel tarriffs he put in place, his amnesty proposal, etc. Stuff like that. Stephen Hawking isn't a great speaker, but he's got some great stuff to pass on. I was focusing on the content. Those Bush-ism's are funny as hell though. Cheap entertainment. 4. Doubt you would have been, given her positions she obviously doesn't think things through. Still, I thought her one of the better choices of the naive 9. Benny - I can put several letters behind my name; none of them precludes me from being an idiot. I'm sure Dr. Dean knows more about medicine than me. He's still an idiot. His own statements paint him as such. Quade - agreed. Eager to see the outcome. Quite interesting. meltdown - LMFAO. 6. ...and said to be endorsing idiot-boy Dean. Just heard it on Fox. I saw her for a bit last night on Hannity & Colmes. Though a bit wacky and obviously a woman with a penchant for ignoring facts, her performance in the debates to date and her remarks last night make her one of the better candidates the Dems fielded in my opinion. Extremely articulate woman with an impressive resume. Would never have voted for her due to her positions, but that takes nothing away from her accomplishments. Thoughts? Might she be a viable Dem VP nominee? Vinny the Anvil (Midget Tequila Monster) Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  7. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20040114/ap_on_sc/bush_space_19OK. 2015 for another lunar landing. That's achievable, I think, but not with the budget as presented. Now what I want to know, is what idiot thinks there is air on the moon? http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=514&e=1&u=/ap/20040114/ap_on_sc/bush_space_19 Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

  9. I would like to know. 5% increase per annum for NASA in order to establish a lunar base and get to Mars was reported today. Eager to see what he has to say tomorrow. Given the massive $$ associated with anything manned, I'd think a 5% increase wouldn't even come close unless we're on a very very very very very very very very very very long term time table. I LAUD the idea with enthusiasm conceptually, but don't think the finances are feasible with only a 5% increase. The only way this will be affordable given the pending budget crisis from Medicare/SS would be to reform SS and do it soon. Via partial privatization I hope. Other than that I see no feasible way to afford it. A shame if it DOESN'T happen, because I've long thought that a national goal of getting to Mars would do wonders for the nation. Funding it will be a great challenge and I'll be eager to see if GWB addresses it in his speech. Looking forward to it. Thoughts, anyone? 10. So because parents can't be trusted to raise their kids we take away their rights as parents? Here Tommy. You've been very bad at school today. Take this nice Ritalin pill. We'll be giving you one every day from now on - along with some ice cream as long as you don't tell your mommy, OK? Little difference. 11. Horrid bit of logic. Should children be able to enter into legal contracts as well? Obtain plastic surgery without parental consent? Be prescribed Ritalin by schoolteachers without parental consent? How about a sex change operation? Hey Mom! Look at me! Forget Michael - now I'm Michele! (No offense to the dz.com'er
  12. They can write whatever they like. I'm sure they do some good things from time to time. The majority of the time I've seen them I disagree with what they are doing. I see many cases where they should step in and don't - fairly public ones. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  13. Perhaps. Lord knows they all loathe the KKK and they have defended them often enough. Perhaps they've turned a new leaf, but I doubt it. I still find it hard to believe they've read the bill of rights given some of the views they espouse. Still, this is surprising. Be interesting to see what happens. 14. I don't think so. When they actually READ the first ammendment I suspect Rush might start respecting them. Rush is well represented without them. This is purely a political move on their part. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
  15. Skydekker - I never said such a thing. You did. Andy - even though I can do the splits I'm not that flexible. Strom Thurmond is on the mind of some, though I consider him more or less a non-sequitur to the issue at hand. But since he's on some peoples' minds, let's see...in addition to the facts about the man presented previously, he also supported the renewal of the Voting Rights Act, backed MLK, Jr's B-day as a national holiday, and was the first senator from the South to hire a minority staffer - a fellow named Tom Moss if memory serves. Back when he was an avowed racist, Albert Gore Sr. joined him in opposing the Civil Rights Act, FYI. Which party was he in? If you'd read up on your Strom Thurmond history a bit, you'd realize that his reasons for making his switch to the republican party permanent were constitutional and not racial in nature. Though I will cede to you that the Republican Party in the mid-late '50's did have more than its fair share of racists in it - probably far less than the Democratic party of the same era. All Strom garbage behind - compare him to Byrd if you like (Senate Majority Leader for WHICH major party? Who STILL supports racial discrimination?) - nothing added changes the following fact: support of racial discrimination is a part of the democratic party's platform; NOT the republican party's. That fact isn't going away. The quote prevented in my initial post hasn't been commented on AT ALL by any of my detractors here. I doubt it will be. Check out the recent Dean-Sharpton exchange on race for another great example of how democrats are obsessed with judging people by their race and encouraging folks to identify themselves by their race as well - and harming America in the process. I stand by my statements. Vinny the Anvil (Midget Tequila Monster) Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

  17. One wonders how Mr. Watt came to his conclusion given the fact that Ms. Cubin hadn't finished her statement. Perhaps his assumption was her intent - perhaps not; we'll never know because of his interruption - unless she continued, which I don't know. Regardless, her statement doesn't change the fact that the Democratic Party supports racial discrimination and makes it a priority to let voters know this - they just call it Affirmative Action. I respect their right to do so but do NOT repect their campaign practices in asserting this support. They encourage people to identify themselves and others by their race every single election. The quote in my initial post is a great example of this. Such tactics harm America in the long run - as does AA - therefore I can neither support nor respect either. Ask any Dem to give you ONE reason to support programs that judge people by their race vice merit. Won't happen. They'll call you a 'good ol' boy', a 'racist', a 'bigot', or some other idiotic insult because you don't judge people by their race for any reason, but they will NEVER answer your question. It's actually a good move on their part politically to play the role of the coward and run from such a question. This is true because the intellectual caliber of those who fall for their race-baiting rhetoric is such that any reliable quote from a Dem beginning with the phrase "I think you should support racial discrimination programs because..." or "I judge people by their race and think you should too because..." would result in a total loss of support for that person from a large voting base for that party. Unfortunately, the conservatives haven't called them on this in a public manner. They should call them out and call them cowards every single time they refuse to answer. It might cost them initially but in the long run it would be good for the nation. Racial discrimination is wrong - regardless of intent. Kallend - legacy admissions are controversial, but have nothing to do with racial discrimination.
  18. TheAnvil returns to his thread. I'm actually amazed anyone is trying to argue this point, though I'm not very surprised at the anger it generated in some. Hehehehehe. Forcing the left to look at itself always brings that out in them. I fully stand by my statement that the democratic party is the party of racial discrimination. It's pretty much indefensible to assert otherwise. I refer any to disagree to the FoxNews-Congressional Black Caucus debate and the statements made by the candidates there. It is impossible to support race-based affirmative action without supporting racial discrimination. The two are one in the same. That anyone can actually deny the Democratic party is the party of racial discrimination is utterly amazing to me given their all out support of race-based AA. Now if someone here would like to tell me HOW one can have a raced based AA program without racial discrimination taking place, I'll happily retract the statement. LMFAO. Won't happen - it can't be done. AdD, if I'm truly ignorant, you'll prove that last statement incorrect.
  19. The party of racial discrimination shows its colors yet again. How sickening. 20. Ditto on the SS. That's a disaster just waiting to fall into all of our laps. I think 5 years infeasible due to technical and industrial limitations for a Mars trip. A lunar one - perhaps, but only at GREAT GREAT GREAT cost and with full cooperation of industry (which would mandate them dropping all current projects in all likelihood). Both infeasible I think. Because it wouldn't occur in a time frame to give him a shyte-ton of good fallout, I think it must be something he truly believes in. 21. I'm not so worried about the deficit anymore this year than I was last year. A deficit budget was inevitable in light of the recession GWB inherited. Now if he doesn't act to save SS here during his next term (which I hope he gets) then his successor(s) are going to have one HELL of a deficit/budgetary crisis on their hands. I think it will be a good thing in the long run, but wonder where the $$ will come from. Perhaps the long lead time proposed is intended to spread the cost out over several years. Who knows? It will be interesting regardless. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

  25. ...like me. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,107807,00.html Unsure as how one might plan to actually FUND this but I've always thought that having a national goal of getting to Mars in conjunction with appropriate federal funding would be a good thing. Look what the Moon race did for us back in JFK times. Bush has disappointed me in so many different ways during his tenure to date. (I am going to vote for him again, never fear my conservative friends here) If this article holds true and we follow thru with this I think it will be one of the legacies of his administration.
