Do you have a Kopechne in-law or something? No Child Left Behind (NCLB) was in large part a HUGE give-away by GWB and really ticked me off quite a bit. It DID get one thing though - mandatory testing. Now that a testing metric is in place, over the next few years we're going to be able to track what school districts are doing better and vice versa. That was the key portion of the act, as far as conservatives are concerned. The rest is just throwing more money at a problem money can't fix. IMO the nation's educational woes can't be fixed by money. I also believe this the responsibility of state and local governments rather than the federal government - and MOSTLY the responsibility of parents. Kerry - though he served his country well in Vietnam - has too much baggage in the form of his congressional record even WITHOUT the positions he holds to be a viable candidate against a well run campaign. I like biodiesel and really think it has a lot of potential to help the US economy and the environment. With regards to an infrastructure, I hold that it's already there. The majority of marine engines are diesels. How about B20 in all US ports? Check a bit into how many diesel vehicles there are on the road and the miles they put on our highways every year and then imagine if they were all running B20 or better. If hybrid diesel-electrics running on veggie oil became the vogue - SUVs with such power sources for example - we'd have make a hefty dent in emissions within a few years I do believe.
