I went to an extremely poor high school academically and only by chance happened to take the SAT/ACT. Now I've a master's degree in systems engineering. I noticed that one advantage my peers in undergrad at GA TECH had over me was that they already knew how to study and I did not. I was able to overcome that, but only through great effort. They also lacked the hick accent that I had acquired through years of living in Appalachian, KY. Don't think any son of yours would have that problem. Anyway, I recommend attending the magnet school. On the lines of this latest Byrd-shyte, let's do a quick comparison. John Ashcroft is nominated for AG. It comes out that he voted against the confirmation of Judge White, a black judge. John Ashcroft does not support institutionalized racial discrimination (affirmative action) and had voted for confirmation of I believe 26 or 27 of 28 black judges during his tenure in the senate. Not voting for Judge White was enough grounds for the media to brand him a racist and mutliple attempts by leftists organizations to 'borh' him. Robert Byrd is a former member of the KKK - though after he resigned from the KKK he still continued to actively support it for several years. Byrd supports racial discrimination in the form of affirmative action. He voted against the confirmation of Judge Clarence Thomas and is now blocking Dr. Rice's nomination.
