Small or aggressive canopy, no experience, grounded.
dgskydive replied to Jimbo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I applaude you guys for standing by your ground. It's your DZ and do with it as you will. I even almost agree with all the wing loadings! Do you guys take into account if somebody has taken a canopy control course? Dom -

Quotehat freedom ends when it jeopardizes the safety of others. If someone wants to do their impression of a Hefty-bag full of vegetable soup hitting the tarmac from a botched hook, that's their right. However, they don't have the right to endager me or others in the process. Well put!!!!!!! Dom -
Turkey dogs. I have had those before. Not to bad on th taste buds. Dom

I took the static line course in 1994 and we used rounds. If I am not mistaken at the time all students where given round reserves. In fact the only times I have had to use a reserve they where both rounds. One in the military and on my 1st 15 second delay! Dom

Not good today. The rain his hit So. Cal. Good for the fires, bad for jumping!!!! Dom
-
Glad to see I'm not alone! I am going to fix the whole sober thing in about 45 minutes! WOO HOO!
-
Another good reason I didn't join the reserves. I had plenty of weekends in the regular Army where they screwed up my fun! Dom
-
Isn't your DZ doing anything fun tonight? Dom
-
I am still at work, so I am jealous of you for being drunk! Have fun and don't eat any rotten candy! Dom

Ok one more time. Thanks to a friend of mine I got a pic that should be big enough. This is from left to right. Mike K. he went on to make the Golden Knights, Angie G. (RIP) she was the sweetest girl you vould ever meet. She would go out of her way for a friend anytime. I have never met somebody that had a bigger heart then her. Last but not least is me making somewhat of a goofy face! Dom
-
Oh wow! I haven't seen those in years! Seeing Angie brought a tears to my eyes. I remember that day and exactly what was going on when that pic was taken. That was right before I left Washington in 1996. Actually we had just got down from a jump and Mike and I where sharing our vast knowledge with her! Boy, we where the biggest skygod of all. What we had something like 300 jumps at that time at the most! That was our little "backwards" DZ. OUr home away from home with some of the best people in the world. OUR SKYDIVING FAMLIY! I miss her everyday! I must have blocked out the memory of the second one! I thought I had never been pied! Dom

SHHHHH! Your drunk! Why does that noe surprise me. The hard part will be keeping her sober enough to do a jump or 2!!!!! Dom

Who's going? Nevada State Record Boogie -- Laughlin, November 8 and 9
dgskydive replied to quade's topic in The Bonfire
QuoteAnd I'm trying to talk dgskydive into going I am trying to talk me wallet into growing some more money! Let's start a dgskydive fund for the Laughlin boogie. If everyone on this site donates 5.oo dollars I will even buy some jumps for Laurie! Dom -
QuoteI would think a 15 year old would be smarter than an 8 year old. That's the problem 15 year olds are too smart. He probably thought "there is no way this will really burn" The 8 year old wouldn't have even thought that much. We used to burn stuff as kids. I even burned down a shed in my uncles back yard that almost took out two houses. I didn't think it would get that big that fast! I ran away to get some water to put it out and by the time I came back out of the house the whole damn thing was going! I am not saying this kid is innocent, nor does his ignorance and stupidity mean that he should not be punished. He needs something done to him. I bet he feels really sorry for what he did. Doesn't change the fact that the other kid is screwed for life. Dom

I guess I'll just have to post little ole me. The second one is a bunch of us after the swoop and chug. We started chugging hard after this! Dom

OOPS ! It's to big! Have ta find a smaller one now! Dom

Do you wear your helmet during take off and landing?

JP said put your damn helmet on. Dom -
5 jump chumps are almost as bad as Dirty Nasty Legs! I have close to 100 round jumps and only broke my ankle once! My only reserve ride in skydiving was under a round as well. I do miss the days of pushing 5 jump chumps out the door at night! The best was when I ws stationed with 4/325 at Bragg. We got a brand new guy out of Jump School and just as I said GO the saftey threw a cut static line over his shoulder. It was great to see his eyes bug out as he was pushed out the door! BTW you haven't lived yet. They don't go out at 800 ft in the dark with 100 pounds of gear in Jump School! You still have gone out lower then most on this site though! Dom

QuoteI don't believe my helmet would be a danger to anyone in the event of a crash You have to be kidding right! Ask any of the survivors of the Perris crash. If you aren't at least strapping it down I don't want you one my plane! Dom -

Always wear it or at least strap it to your seat belt or chest strap! What if it comes out from under it and it smacks someone else in the head? Dom -
