She just wants my bottle of Captain. Or my vote. Not really sure which.
-
Oh shit, thanks for reminding me. I need to add a manicure, a trip to the mall and a brand new car to that list.
-
A handle of Captain Morgan Silver, a twelve pack of Diet Coke, ten paid AFF student jumps, the Sharks beating the fucking Kings Saturday AND Sunday night, not getting shit for not dressing up in 70's disco clothes for the party and the weatherman being wrong about his prediction for the weekend. I'm pretty sure the bottle of Captain and the twelve pack of Diet Coke are gonna happen.

Nah. If we choke in the post season again, I guarantee I'll be too drunk to see the TV, much less that big shiny thing.
-
I can actually see the puck in HD!
-
Yeah, sorry. I'm sure it hurt pretty bad to watch your team lose, at home, on opening night... especially to Ron's new team. It was a great game though. Not quite as good as the one I'm watching now though (2 goals for Cheech so far ).

Opening night! Yay!! It's gonna be a good season. It's gotta be - Detroit already lost. Go Sharks!

Extra thick parachutes? LMAO!

For me it's the smell of gear... New gear, old gear, doesn't matter. I noticed that smell right away the first time I set foot on a dropzone and to this day it still makes me smile.

Heh. I remember how much I loved mine after back surgery. Hope you get to discard it as fast as I did!

I'm trying to be strong, but I'm not sure how much more I can take.

I hear ya, my friend. Cherish the good days and do your best to make it through the bad. And keep telling yourself that it is all far better than the alternative... -
Every time you show up at the dz is a good rule of thumb. Bring what you do drink - a bottle or two of wine or fixin's for cocktails will go over well too. If you don't drink alcohol at all, nobody will think less of you if you bring water, sodas, cookies, etc. The custom is less about the alcohol and more about hanging around getting to know other jumpers.

Be a good patient, Linz, or they might not bring you more pain meds.

interesting sutiation - try'n'buy + cutaway.

Considering that I've seen a reserve that hadn't had work required by an SB done that was packed by a very well known and respected master rigger... yup, my rigger would be repacking it. As for the extra $$... I wouldn't expect someone to pay above and beyond the repack if I let them use my rig (regardless of who packed the main) and they had to chop. imho, by telling them they could jump it without a clear understanding that you expected extra money if they used the reserve, you took on that risk. -

What he said. In addition, without seeing it with my own eyes, how do I know for sure that it is what the seller says it is? -
Ya gets what ya pay for. And before anyone assumes that I'm dissing the dz in question, I'm not. Jump tickets are significantly cheaper there than they are at other dz's in the area. Go arounds use extra fuel. Fuel is expensive. Since the dz doesn't charge as much for jumps, it seems fairly logical that they wouldn't do go arounds. Long spots and landing out are a part of skydiving. Novice or experienced, if you can't safely land out you likely need some remedial training...

But... but... they didn't buy it from Square One! -
Best way to improve canopy skills?
skybytch replied to Deisel's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
None of the swoopers I know do that. By practicing it, over and over, up high. Just like everything else related to canopy flight. -
Having one - the ability to be away from the internet for more than a few hours without going into withdrawal. The sunshine and physical presence of people who actually know your name are dead giveaways. The part where I have to do things other than jumping, slacklining, hiking or drinking.

How is everyone doing with "Rule The Seas?"
skybytch replied to GogglesnTeeth's topic in The Bonfire
Oh well, I appreciate the offer. I should be doing homework instead of wasting time on a silly game anyway... so she's really doing me a favor by permawarding me. -

Normally I'm Molly Underfoot. But since someone has decided to permaward me, I'm now MollyLaughs@U. Gotta love the junior high antics. I'll find ya in game. -

Anybody playing on v3? If so, and if you can ward a level 500+ and have some extra time... I got money and points for you if you could do me a big favor. -
You should be able to fly in/out of Kalispell, which is a lot closer to Glacier than Missoula. You could wait for mid-summer and bring your gear; Glacier is only an hour or so drive from Skydive Lost Prairie, which, in case you hadn't heard, puts on a really sweet boogie in late July. And your swoopin' self might enjoy the MSL too. Well worth the trip regardless, there are a lot of trails to day hike on and the views are spectacular.

Hurricane season isn't over yet.

It was four years ago today. I was hanging out at the Byron Boogie when I got a call from Jack. He wanted to tell me that bitch Jeanne (hurricane Jeanne, not Amazon ) was all set to make landfall a couple miles from my house. Luckily I was amongst friends with alcohol. To prevent thinking about things I couldn't do a damn thing about, I proceeded to get seriously, stumblingly, painfully drunk (that bitch... err I mean Amazon was quite helpful in this quest; to this day just thinking about Goldschlager makes me nauseous). A week later, everything I had left was stuffed into a 2 door Toyota Tercel and me and my dog were headed back to an uncertain future on the correct coast. As I sit here now avoiding writing a history paper, I once again feel the need to thank those who made that drive and the first few months back survivable. Without each of you I certainly wouldn't be where I am now - which, to my eternal amazement, is a very happy and good place to be. You know who you are. And I still love you all very much.
