I got full skydiving cover and travel insurance for 1 year fur under £100 from Columbus. You can add gear as an option but mines covered under home policy. Ordinary luggage is covered as are virtually any activities. You are also covered in the UK for the ordinary weekend trip to the DZ. For PI, it covers the lot inc repatriation and maxses out in the millions (not got policy with me or id give figure). (Having spend a weather hold day a few months ago examining the policy I think theres some curious clause in it which means your not covered to ride camels or elephants. But hey, whatever floats your boat)

I just feel that if your gonna hook, hook with ur riser instead of waisting your breaking ability on the turn, but i guess this is another forum

Just dont leave anything more than a thin film. Lube + dust = a jam in the hard housing and a crater on the ground

All true - and I know that thats what the Ops manual says - but you just try telling the CCI your doing FF if you dont have Cat10, bet you get some colourful language then. Technically you can do your Cat10 in FF but I have never been to a DZ in this country, where they will let you do FF without either having a load of jumps under your belt or Cat10 AND being on a coaching jump.

Thats not a Z1 then - thats a copy called a Cougar. Total Control do not stock the Z1 but can get it in. The one with the crappy bolts is NOT genuine. Still I think my Cougar provides better protection than the Z1 although its a little "rough round the edges" and the plastic bolts were replaced the day I got it for some metal ones.

you jump at headcorn - get a symbi suit go to: http://www.symbiosis.suits.btinternet.co.uk/ they have a very good suit designer. There's not really any such thing as an "all rounder" but an RW suit is about the best thing you can get at your stage in skydiving, esp as you have to be Cat10 to freefly in this country.

Wow - english speeking Let pilots?? Didnt know they existed, our came over from some eastern european country and both had HUGE beards, wore military flight-suits and constantly smoked a big ass pipe.

was on one of my very last jumps through RAPS progression getting out of a Turbolet 410 (god I love that plane - looks like a flying pig, but its a beauty). We take off and get to just less than 1000ft (fast climb on that baby). Then someone notices something coming off the left wing and the jumpmaster has a good look. We all laugh and joke about someone being left behind or ice on the wing. Suddenly everthing goes all serious and the jumpmaster litterally walked over us in a rush to get to the pilot. We all put our helmets on and get ready to jump. Someone had left the fule cap off the tank after the refuel they had just done and aviation fuel was spewing out of the wing. With a left hand door exit, the fuel was leaking right past the door so anyone exiting would have been covered in it. The plane arks round the DZ and lands to calmly taxi up to the fule point for someone to put the cap back on. After that we went up and jumped as normal.

do what you like - its a canopy isnt it. I borrowed mine from square one, hooked it up as a main and had some fun on it. I guess though, if I had a cut away, id probably try to fly conservatively so the shit in my pants didnt run down my legs too much. I suppose the only thing you would have to do dif is not to do anything that could cause a cut-away, as you;ve just used your only second chance - so no crew! Other than that, remember that its an F111 canopy so sinks a bit more than the one your used to and that its probably gonna be smaller, but less radical.

It will depend on what the contract says - check there website for standard terms etc. If either one of you nominated a legal system under which the contract will be carried out then that is the one that rules (look for a term likle "this contract will be governed by BLANK law") In the absence of such a term - then the law of the country in which the buyer is resident applies. So english law - they must send you a refund. (if you want to get technical thats Artical 5 paragraph 4 of the Rome Convention. ) If there is a term nominating a foreign jurisdiction then it becomes more complicated, but may still be avoided. Besides I think most countries have rules similar to English law in relation to sale by description. If you have any more probs PM me and let me know the county where the canopy comes from and I'll have a look at what their laws say.

I take it from your profile that your in England - therefore they have to give you a full refund. It is iligal for them to refuse to. Section 13 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 states that goods must be as described. They described the canopy as being new, it must be new. If it is not, you are entitled to repuditate the contract and they owe you all your money back, and any postage you may have spent. I can't speek for other countries, but if they are here, they cannot do what they are trying to.

perhaps 50% of the reserves fail to work beacuase of the low opening altitude of military jumps - I certantly wouldnt want to try dealing with a mal after exiting at 1250' -
go fast taists sooo good. Lived off it (ish) when I stayed at Perris and cant wait for it to get the the UK/go commercial like the taist better than RB - from what I reccall is flavoured with australian honey amungst other stuff. Dont think it has as much caffine in it as RB - but personally thats a good thing, unless your looking for somthing to stop you sleaping, in which case drink RB
