  1. The maximum available extention is up to 96 hours in total (including the initial 24). To get this is unbelievably rare though. Each time the police run out of time, they must get another court order to get a further extention of time. Each of these must be justified and the court becomes less and less receptive as time passes.
  2. remember, 30ft is usually considered the cut off point for a survivable fall. anything above that and the video will cease to be funny.
  3. it looks like a lego brick (no comment on its actual worth there, just a joke)
  4. yes, we've dumped my mates Stiletto 135 out on at a local park before. dumb idea but funny till we get his ass drug to shit. its either not windy enough to inflate the canopy or if it is windy enough to inflate it you are not going to hold it. enjoyment factor is low too as there's fuck all you can do with it even once you have it up. takes about 5 minutes for the ammusement factor to wear off.
  5. you want to bash that movie and you pick THAT part of it ??? bwahahahahaha
  6. actually it belongs in suggestions and feedback if you want to get picky
  7. shouldnt laugh but you just posted a link to a protitution story. (i think the link points to their "top story" and they've changed thier running order.)
  8. is that right? whats your source for that? It was announced that they had a further 12. If they have a further 24 thats quite a different thing altogether. sorry to question, but the distinction is more important than it might appear.
  9. just so long as he doesnt attach himself to the canopy you're right. but he aint got a hope in hell of holding it for more than a second if he (/something) aint attached to it
  10. Yes, except the police have not released their names. They were leaked to local press by an unknown source. The police still refuse to confirm that they have them. National news agencies either don't name or repeat the statement of the local news station (even crediting them).
  11. the cheque will clear or at least look like its cleared for a few days. then after a week it comes back as bounced. the bank thinks they are doing you a favour by showing the pending amount in your account as Bankers drafts dont bounce... unless they're from a bank that doesnt exist.
  12. ITS A SCAM Its a known con over here. The police have warned about it. The way it works is you put the cheque in which comes back as cashed. (your bank credits you the money knowing its a bankers draft and therefore shouldnt bounce) You then transfer the money. Then you get a letter from the bank saying the bankers draft failed to clear and that there's no such bank. You just got shafted. STAY AWAY, NO KIDDING
  13. I doubt MPs will get involved, this is a civi investigation.
  14. The special circumstances are fulfilled in this case simply because its a murder investigation. The officers only have to get their DCI to authorise it, (which they vitually always do). In this case I believe there has been a 12 hour extention until midnight tonight. After that they must either be charged or released. There is scope for further extension but they must be from a court and become progressively harder to get.
  15. that was the same word used by my JM then he would lift my chin for me or say, "look up" (with a staccato "up") then give me a very short sharp "go". Its amasing what you remember. my JM was great... dugy (Doug Peacock D68) Damn near invented the sport and was national coach for god knows how long. Still a name in accuracy even at an age to match his licence number. he still remembers my name and says hi to me at the DZ and chats about my jumping. sorry... reminiscing...
  16. yeah biteing it will damage it and can cause a total mal... very important that.
  17. whatever is fine. just be ready to ditch the thing if there's a canopy coming your way or if you have any canopy problems. your more expensive than a bit of teflon and a woggle.
  18. ITN have added the following to the BBC article: (ITN is a british news service for those overseas)
  19. agreed completely, it could easily be coincidence. we shall have to wait and see what the police think. and even if they do think these two are the right ones, they may still be wrong... it would not be the first time. time will tell.
  20. its been in all the national news papers. these revelations are on all the radio stations and on the 24 hour news channel. in england thats high profile, even to wuffos
  21. Nothing more than come to a conclusion for my self as to how significant this event is. They may simply release the two... although I doubt it. There is something ominous about how they were both arrested at the same time and then taken to seperate police stations, (although that could simply be the product of the way this was reported as opposed to an exact reflection of what happened).
  22. Strictly speaking the police only need "reasonable grounds for suspecting" them to be guilty of it. It would not be the first time the police got things wrong, esp considering they are trying to delve into a world they do not understand. I want to wait to see who they have, and then wait to see what they do with them.
  23. I do not know who's been arrested yet. I therefore have no idea if they worked at the DZ. I would be very supprised if they did though... all indications so far were that the police were interested in other groups. Sorry for confusion, just your sentance makes use of grammar usually associated with a statement as opposed to a question.
  24. I put that down to english being his second language and it being a question. Is that right? or do you know something more than the rest of us?
