I have a Magellan Map 330 and have found it to be extremely accurate. I am usually + or - 10 to 15 feet off on location and + or - 15 to 20 feet in altitude. I think thats pretty good for something that runs off of 2 AA batteries and can fit in my shirt pocket. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You would have to go to SAE web page and pay to download AS 8043 to find out what the test parameters are. I have never been that interested in it to buy it myself. AS 8015-B cost around $60. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Pack it like you do other rounds you have used. It does depend on how you deploy it though. Lines first or canopy first. I have made systems for rockets up to 16 feet tall and over 400 pounds. PM me your email and I will send you some information. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Do you wear kevlar or nomex turn outs? Have never heard of kevlar except in ballistic vests. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

This is a letter from Ray Reynolds, a medic in the Iowa Army National Guard, serving in Iraq: As I head off to Baghdad for the final weeks of my stay in Iraq, I wanted to say thanks to all of you who did not believe the media. They have done a very poor job of covering everything that has happened. I am sorry that I have not been able to visit all of you during my two week leave back home. And just so you can rest at night knowing something is happening in Iraq that is noteworthy, I thought I would pass this on to you. This is the list of things that has happened in Iraq recently: (Please share it with your friends and compare it to the version that your paper is producing.) * Over 400,000 kids have up-to-date immunizations. * School attendance is up 80% from levels before the war. * Over 1,500 schools have been renovated and rid of the weapons stored there so education can occur. * The port of Uhm Qasar was renovated so grain can be off-loaded from ships faster. * The country had its first 2 billion barrel export of oil in August. * Over 4.5 million people have clean drinking water for the first time ever in Iraq. * The country now receives 2 times the electrical power it did before the war. * 100% of the hospitals are open and fully staffed, compared to 35% before the war. * Elections are taking place in every major city, and city councils are in place. * Sewer and water lines are installed in every major city. * Over 60,000 police are patrolling the streets. * Over 100,000 Iraqi civil defense police are securing the country. * Over 80,000 Iraqi soldiers are patrolling the streets side by side with US soldiers. * Over 400,000 people have telephones for the first time ever. * Students are taught field sanitation and hand washing techniques to prevent the spread of germs. * An interim constitution has been signed. * Girls are allowed to attend school. * Textbooks that don't mention Saddam are in the schools for the first time in 30 years. Don't believe for one second that these people do not want us there. I have met many, many people from Iraq that want us there, and in a bad way. They say they will never see the freedoms we talk about but they hope their children will. We are doing a good job in Iraq and I challenge anyone, anywhere to dispute me on these facts. So If you happen to run into John Kerry, be sure to give him my email address and send him to Denison, Iowa. This soldier will set him straight. If you are like me and very disgusted with how this period of rebuilding has been portrayed, email this to a friend and let them know there are good things happening. There is a Basler DC-3 flying out of Cal. City. The door is huge. If you are not 6 feet or taller you can not reach the floater bar above the door. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Perris does not have a DC-3, the one they use belongs to Skip and is kept at Elsinore. He does mostly movie work with it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Why did they go to soft housing in the first place? Did they improve function or safety? If so, how? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Aircraft safety belts, in the US, must be manufactured to TSO-C22g standards. (SAE AS 8043) There are only 8 companies world wide that hold that TSO. One in England, one in Germany and the rest in the US. If the belts are manufactured under this TSO there should be a TSO tag on them some where. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

This is never a good reason to do anything. You can go 2000 jumps and not have a problem, and jump 2001 can kill you. When changing anything ask "will it improve function or safety?" If so how? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

There has been a truck driving around the landing area for over 20 years. An not one jumper has been run over. This includes night jumps. So you believe me... this is not a serious incident waiting to take place. All things can be done and done safely with just a little planing. Sparky And Dom., thanks for the backup. It doesn't matter how you pay, it the fact that you pay that requires the pilot be Comm. rated. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I have been jumping a bag with just 2 locking stows and the rest of the lines in a velcro pocket for well over 5 years and several hundred jumps. I have yet to have a problem with "line dump" or any problem for that matter. The bag deploys the lines with much less "line whip" and the bag seems to stay stable through out deployment. I don't recommend just S-folding them in the pack tray, I am one of the guys RiggerRob refers to that had a line group entangle with a side flap. No I didn't die, a diapered round reserve made it through the mess. But I did go to a tail pocket after that. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

A tandem rig with all the options. That way I could rent it out to one of the schools and use the cash for jumps. Works for me. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Getting back to the original post. If the DZO as described was flying jumpers with a just a private lic. you can bet it was illegal. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Oh, careful there, Sparky. Remember, Bozo had to go head down to catch my anvil bottom.... So yes, svelt. Me? I'm rubenesque. Or chubby. But hey, on me it makes for great bumpers - rear and front...just like a car. Ciels- Michele Opps! Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You are right, skydiving helmets are made and sold in very small quantities. But fancy is not quite the word for some of the crapy workmanship I have seen on these helmets. Regardless of the quantities and considering the poor workmanship, $300 is still out of line. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
