  1. I am going to wait until they come out with adjustable suspension on a pair. Paul, a "health and benefits expo". Having a slow week are you? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Get off you ass and become informed. Ask questions, listen to discussions at the DZ. Become involved. You can either become part of what affects you life or stand on the sideline and keep quite. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. The market for Vigils is really soft right now. Get one now and you can "Buy high, sell low and make it up on volume." Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. It sounds like you are trying to get downsizing to fit in with someone telling to be conservative on canopy choices. With your experience level, if you go from you 210 to a 120 elliptical and do straight in's it is not conservative, it is foolish. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. Just a thought. It takes about .75 sec. for a student to reach the end of a static line. In order to short line the student the JM would have to see and identify an exit problem, make the decision to short line and then physically to the act. I do not think it can be done in the time frame available. If the JM short lines the student he had to have unconsciously made the decision before the student leaves the strut/door. I am not a JM but have put out hundreds of test dummies and live test subjects and have never been able to short line after saying go. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  8. Now, Now, boys and girls. If you keep this up you may end up agreeing on something meaningful. That could lead to a viable program that might, just might, save some lives. Where will that leave you? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  9. Good point. $1500 plus for a go fast canopy, take the time to make it right. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  16. If you can't get to the spot, you picked the wrong spot. If you picked the wrong spot, you would not be ready to downsize. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  17. Oh sure. I come up with the right answer and you change the rules. I want my prize, I want my prize. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  19. The at-risk population is jumpers with low jump numbers flying canopies they can't land. You need to get out more. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  20. Without the seal being intact, how do you tell if the rig is "otherwise in compliance with the FAR's. Contact your local FISDO office and ask for an opinion on the question. Thats what I did. How do you tell if a seal is genuine when it would be almost trivially easy for anyone with any handicraft ability to re-use an old one or even fabricate one for yourself? I don't see the presence of a seal proving anything at all. Whats your point, or do you have one. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  21. Same applies to my laptop, since they want to see it working, but I don't want it to get damaged, dirty, or noticed unecessarily, but I still carry it in a case. Yes, ok, it's not specifically designed to be worn but why draw attention? Besides USPA's own advice is that screeners should no longer be surprised by x-ray imagery of rigs and that they should be inside a suitable container, and will help in the event of an unexpected opening without the ability to close it. Ah, but you see, I have the ablility to close it. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  22. It may seem that way but the facts don't support it. Of the 36 landing related fatalities I could locate from the last 5 years, only 4 where under the age of 25, while 21 had less then 500 jumps. Source:Skydiving Fatalities" My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  24. Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black. Come up with all the excuses you want, it is piss poor behavior to lay something like that on a paying customer. Could that attitude be the reason the other DZ started up? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  25. They will ask and you will be taking it in and out at every stop. Carrying on my back has worked for me since before 9-11. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
