  1. You might try contacting Ted or his shop and see what they have to say. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Personal attacks are frowned upon on this web site. What you perceive to be fact just may not be and anything said here could put you in the middle of something I am sure will ruin you day. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. And I ask again, who are you? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. Tony and Kate spent the night last night in Bakesfield on their way back to Perris area. Tony is doing pretty good but is tired of pain meds. Have not heard anything on Mike. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. -4-2 Did two great demos, one a 17 way with smoke and one with a big flag and smoke into a stadium. Heading out right now to make some fun jumps. Life is good. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. Steady on Sparky, we don't need to be that unfriendly. Spirit, people are suspicious of users with no real info in their profile. If you fill yours in (click here) you'll get much more responses. What is your post saying, that the Cypres fired on the ground? Wasn't there a case of this at the recent world record where someone landed close to some source of radiation? Is that a possibility? Gus Reserve containers were not designed to work on the ground. You take any modern sport container, stand on the ground and pull the reserve. The bag will not come out of the container. Do the same thing at 120 mph and it will be a different story. I am not sure what you mean by "multifictional". If you mean malfunction, you need to understand the team before using it. Is that better Gus? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  7. John, I have been jumping a "D" bag, that I make, for several years that only has two locking stows and the remain line is stowed in a pocket. I use tube stows for that. I have no problem with clean, staged deployment. The pocket does a great job of staging the lines. It is similar to a reserve free bag only square. I have yet to see a stow band cause a bag lock. A stow band will not take the forces produced during deployment. For a bag lock to occur you must have line/lines or the bridle wrap up on something. If your PC does not have enough drag to brake a stow band, you had better get a new one. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  12. Careful, there is a real hardcore bunch of guys at PErris that call themselves AIRTRASH. If they here that others are calling themselves that, you may have a bunch of VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY drunk mofo's that have no sense between them all (and there are a lot of them) looking to snatch ya up and show ya what AIRTRASH really is. Who you calling a drunk mofo with no sense? Thats Mr. Air Trash to you. Got my hat from Richard H. in 1979. Now the drunk mofo's are Sky Scum. Sparky Dom, Do you know the difference between Air Trash and Sky Scum? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  13. Hey now, I was very polite and tactful in my PM and explained in detail why I was asking and why others would most likely ask.
  14. I have about 500 jumps on a CrusAir where the canopy was trash packed. It was an early version of PRO pack but without a bag or a tail pocket. (1978-79) The openings were not "explosive". On a ram air canopy opening or more predicated on design and not deployment device/method. Is this the end yet? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Sheesh????? I read the first 2 lines of you last post. Do you still think a free bag has any affect on the opening speed of a ram air canopy? When you are out of answerers, that usually is the end. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  16. Your other "parachuting activity" is not skydiving but but when the "breaking certain rules" is covered by the press it gives a black eye to skydiving. As for the skyhook working in 90 feet or less, Bill Booth had already proved that through a comprehensive test program. The only reason to repeat it at 250 feet was ego and stupidity. How do we teach new jumpers respect for the dangers of the sport with people pulling this shit? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  17. Nice ride. Here is mine. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  18. Cora, I agree with you. I am going to do my best for follow your suggestion. Now if I can just find some rest home I can sneak into after dark. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  19. I PMed him a few hours ago (right after I replied). Kinda worried he/she has a not so nice motive in this, possibly...it sure would be nice if folks atleast filled out some of their profile. Did he respond to your PM? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  20. I would have to agree with this. The H/C was TSO'd as a unit. It was not tested with a chest mount container attached. There is no way of knowing if where/how it was attached to the harness would take the load. So packing the reserve in that manner would be in violation of FAR Part 65.129 (e) and Part 105.43 (c). Since FAR's were violated the jump would be in violation of BSR's, SIM Section 2..1 B-1 But hell, even if the jump had been legal, it just proved that the guy was not the sharpest tool in the box. 21. Damn, you beat me to it. In anycase, it would make Quade feel all warm and fuzzy if you would fill in some of the information in your profile. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  22. I am replying to this statement. Rounds do not open faster than ram air parachute just for the fact they are round. And a free bag has nothing to do with how fast a ram air with open. It is there to stage the opening, not meter it. I have been involved in testing and development for over 20 years and am pretty sure of what I am saying. An inherent problem is there whether from packing, deployment method or reefing used. Some are a design flaw and some can be mitigated with minor changes in use. They are usually referred to as "deployment, handling or descent rate issues" My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  23. I agree, the only thing the jumper has proved is that he has the brain power as a bag of rocks. At the very least he violated the rules of common sense. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  24. You don't want to go there. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  25. Opening speed is determined by "fill time" and what, if any, method is used to reef or meter the deployment. A large round with light load with open slower than a small ram air with a heavy load all thing being equal. But then you could use a PC reefed slider and the deployment speed would determine opening speed. The freebag has nothing to do with the opening speed, it is there to stage the deployment. Staging make it deploy in an orderly manner and metering/reefing controls how fast it inflates. Deployment and inflate/opening are two separate things. Yes you can have a line over on a ram air. Before the advent of Pro packing it was almost unheard of. Pro packing make it easy to get the lines out of position, requires close attention. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
