  1. I am not sure just what you mean, but here is a page from the manual. See if this helps. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. Lisa, I have one that is 8 oz. and one that is 4 oz. If you find one that is 16 oz. you have to carry it in a wheelbarrow. 16 oz. of booze is a lot of booze. It would last at least 2 hours or so. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. How do you comply with this section of the TSO and FAA Part 21? That is if your TSO's are under C23d. If not, apples and oranges. (vi) The quality control inspection and functional test specification to be used to ensure each production article complies with this TSO, as required by part 21, section 21.605(a)(3) and part 21, section 21.143(a)(3). 4. Congrasulations Ron, I mean Sir Ron. 1531, Perris 3 Nov. 1979. Yea, I know, I am old. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. You walked away from it, good landing. I was the guy that went after your fee bag. Your safety stow was still in it. I never get that lucky. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  7. People like that need to be taught a lesson. If you catch them at it, take their car, their shoes and their pants. Let them walk home. Then call the Cops and tell them you saw some perverts walking around. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  8. I think I made a jump with you. I was the old guy in the orange jumpsuit complaining about the way you spoke english. On your cutaway, where you the one that downwinded the blue reserve? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  9. As I said before, it is Americans with your attitude that make the rest of the world dislike all Americans. I won't send you any money, but what I can do is send a note to your CO and get his response to how this situation should be handled. There is a large difference between going 4 or 5 miles over the speed limit and falsifying a document in a foreign country. And it has nothing to do with being "virtuous", but it has everything to do with being Honest. You might try it sometime. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  10. I just read your profile. You are not only an American living in Italy, you are a member of the Military service. We are paying you to represent us to the rest of the world. Do it right. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  11. If I understand you right, you are concerned about being under "mechanical stress" over a long period of time. There is no tension on the cable/pin connection until the handled is pulled. Only when the rib cord is pulled is any stress applied to the assembly. Again the force required to extract the pin can not exceed 22 lb. Source: AS-8015B 4.3.2.4 Primary Actuation Device/Ripcord, Actuation Force Tests: A load at the ripcord handle, or equivalent, of not less than 5 lbf (22.2 N), applied in the direction giving the lowest pull force, nor more than 22 lbf (97.9 N), applied in the direction giving the highest pull force under normal design operations, shall result in a positive and quick deployment initiation on all tests. A minimum of 10 pull tests is required. For chest type parachute assemblies, the maximum pull force shall be 15 lbf (66.7 N). I have tested ripcords, 4 pin type, that were over 40 years old to the 300 lb. 3 sec. standard without a problem. Of course the ripcord and all the component parts must be manufactured and assembled properly. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  12. It doesn't really matter what you think about their law. It's there law and their country. This is one reason Americans have such a bad reputation around the world, we think we are above other countries petty little laws. Would you try a pull that crap in the US? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  13. All ripcord/pin/handle assemblies used on US TSO'd gear are tested to 300 lb. for 3 sec. That is more than could ever be applied by an individual pulling the handle. What would you suggest to test to? From AS-8015B 4.3.1 Primary Actuation Device/Ripcord Test: The ripcord, including all joints, shall not fail under a straight tension test load of 300 lbf (1337.7 N) applied for not less than 3 s. 14. The picture looks like someone threw you off the back of a speeding pick up truck. I know why we jumped that shit 20+ years ago, no choice. I can't understand why any one would want to jump it today. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Yes, a good time was had by all. The dinner was great, the beer cold and the "no shit" stories were every where. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You have a sharp eye for things "Sienfield". How goes the Speedo wars? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  17. Is this the first you have heard of cypress batteries leaking? You should make an effort to keep up with equipment developments. Do you store a flashlight for long periods of time with the batteries in it? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

    Gloves

Other sports do not expose their gloved hands to a 120+ mph wind. They also have to deal with a far greater time period then skydivers. I go to 30,000 on a regular basis, it is always -40 F or lower. I wear silk glove liners, $20.00, under a pair of Nike batting gloves, $15.00 on sale. For the ride up I wear a pair of insulated M/C gauntlets or that and keep my hands close to my body and away from the skin of the A/C. Just before exit I take the M/C gloves off and leave them in the airplane. I have seen many jumper use the latex glove liner set up with good results for years. I think what is important is what works for you and your budget. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  20. NO You state that they are due to expire this month. Do not leave them in the rig for an extra 5 or 6 months. Cypres batteries have been known to leak after 2 years. Pop your reserve, fluff the canopy, remove the cypres batteries and store the canopy in a fabric bag in a nice place. Be very careful removing the batteries. Go to this site for help. Shhhhhh....

I would like to see how your husband would do not the IQ test in the General Skydiving forum. Does he ever complain about riding the short bus. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  23. 1) what made you start jumping / how you became interested? Nothing made me do it, I wanted to. A co-worker set it up for several of us from a local Fire Dept. 2) How long have you been jumping? How many jumps do you have? First jump in 1976, 2,500 jumps to date. 3)What method of training did you do? Static line with old surplus military gear. 4) how has skydiving changed you life? Through skydiving I have met some great people and formed life long friendships. I have been able to travel to many places in the US and some foreign countries. (Demos) Collected some of the best memories a person could wish for. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  24. I agree with you, some gear is scary. Most of the scary gear has been changed since it left the manufacture for what ever reason. In the last 10 years or so, there seems to be less and less of "sport death" gear around. It is the only system we have at to moment and no one has said they have a better idea. Skydivers need to take a more active role in assuring they have gear that is safe and in good condition. Throwing your rig at a packer after a jump and at a rigger when needed seems to be the wave of the future. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  25. I would say the illusion of safe equipment, or potentially safer equipment. The gear manufactured today, in most cases, is safer then the jumpers using it. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
