  1. Why? This thread started seriously enough, he has responded to comments without personal attacks... what in his profile would make this discussion more valid? Debate and discussion are about the ideas involved not the person who puts them into play I wasn't talking to you. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  2. What do you think I was getting at? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  3. A skydiver telling lies. No shit, there I was, 10,000 feet, up to my ass in ripcords, thought I was going to die. Sounds like a plan. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  4. USAFA and West Point teams are considered "DOD" teams and are exempt from most FAA requirements. But as you stated, their requirements are much tighter. I was told by a National Director that stadium jumps now require 1000 jumps and a pro rating. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  5. You should not do both the contaminates and the sun exposure at the same time. It would be tough to determine what was the true cause of any degradation of the fabric. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  6. This could prove to be interesting in the future.
  7. I would say if he doesn't have it in writing, in detail, he doesn't have it. Remember this is the FAA you are dealing with. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  11. I jump at a dropzone that is home to some of the best canopy pilots in the world. The ones that are the best are not the ones that cause a problem, its the ones that think they are they they are that and feel the need to show off that cause a problem in the main landing area. The ones with 500 jumps that think they are pro circuit material. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  12. I would love to know the answer to this. Judging by his avatar, I would say it’s a little of both. Right now, you are more at risk of myocardial infarction than a botched landing on a tiny 280. This thread should be a wake up call. Maybe the $3000 would be better spent on a gastric bypass? He is a bigger person then you are thats for sure. 13. Sure do, jumped into Kitty Hawk with him a couple of years ago and Cal Speedway a few times. Skycat, I don't think you saw Mark do a face plant on a demo. Not all jumpers who hold a Pro card are Professionals, but Mark is one of the best at what he does. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  14. Hey Chuck, His initials wouldn't happen to be M. S. would they? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  15. Who says I don't need a yard keeper? What stays inside, stays inside. Whoever's outside can take care of things out there. ltdiver Willing to do inside and outside work. But the rate is a bit higher.
  16. Robert, That seems to be the standard method of operating for far too many mid level bureaucrats. They are the ones that get recognition while standing on the backs of the people doing the job. I hope your fellow controllers and their families come out of this safely. We know they will get the job done. Sparky Enjoyed meeting you at the Boom shelter.
  17. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Perris Valley cut you some slack, outside of the letter of the law. The difference between an FAA TSO and an Australian TSO is insignificant. Talons were originally TSOed by Rigging Innovations in the USA. Parachutes Australia builds Talons under license from R.I. Don't push your luck. I don't think it was so much they cut him some slack as they did not understand the language of Part 105.49 Under Part 105.3 under definitions: If your H/C or your reserve were manufactured under an FAA TSO-C23 series it must be inspected and repacked by a FAA certificated parachute rigger within 120 days of use. 18. Who packed the reserve, it looks like shit. You should be able to take the Ser.# and contact RWS and find out who purchased the rig. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  20. It could carry more ordinance than an F-4 and like you say, the on station time was great. For close air support it was the best thing going in Vietnam. Sparky, 2nd. Batt. 3rd. Marines, 1967/68 My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  21. Sparky, was the equipment pretty hard on ya' back in the 70s and 80s? I started at age 50 and am always bemoaning the fact that I didn't start when I was a young chick... but I've been told that is was a lot harder and unsophisticated as a sport back then. Tell us about that. I started on military surplus gear, first jump on a T-10 packed in a B-4 container and a 24' flat in a QAC. It was heavy, didn't fit very well, had a forward speed of about 4/5 mph and landed like shit. But I knew before I hit the end of the static line it was something I was going to do. By my third jump I had my own rig. 28' 7-TU, they wouldn't let me jump it because it was to high performance. But I had nothing to compare it to so it did not seem that bad. 22. When did this become a H&P? That is about an 8 to 10 sec. delay. A H&P is a Clear and Pull. Just what it says, clear the a/c and pull. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  23. If was "waving and breathing" you shouldn't be docking.
  24. This is what Part 105 says about it. I will leave it up you to decipher just what it means. *** 105.49 Foreign parachutists and equipment. (a) No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no pilot in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute operation to be conducted from that aircraft with an unapproved foreign parachute system unless— (1) The parachute system is worn by a foreign parachutist who is the owner of that system. (2) The parachute system is of a single-harness dual parachute type. (3) The parachute tem meets the civil aviation authority requirements of the foreign parachutist's country. (4) All foreign non-approved parachutes deployed by a foreign parachutist during a parachute operation conducted under this section shall be packed as follows— (i) The main parachute must be packed by the foreign parachutist making the next parachute jump with that parachute, a certificated parachute rigger, or any other person acceptable to the Administrator. (ii) The reserve parachute must be packed in accordance with the foreign parachutist's civil aviation authority requirements, by a certificated parachute rigger, or any other person acceptable to the Administrator.*** Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
