Ain't the the truth. I think the last time I jumped MA was for Bad Spots memorial. Thanks for the hug, I needed that. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I had to google that. A usually congenital condition in which an abnormal accumulation of fluid in the cerebral ventricles causes enlargement of the skull and compression of the brain, destroying much of the neural tissue. That explains a lot about me. Or maybe the rest of us freaks are microcephalics.

Well, you injoy your new canopy and remember we had this little talk. -
Most of those you would have to get from the "client", it was their dime. But here are a couple. First one is a 20 sec. delay on the "Thin Pack". Second is a live test on a canopy developed by a major manufacturer to replace the T-10. Now lets see a picture of you.

Very good responce, I will steal that sometime in the future.

This is the first thing to do. It is hard to get answers if you won't give them.

Or maybe we should label those that complain about the openings "Pussys".

Bob, As said in my post, I am retired living on my laurels.

Do you know what my canopy progression has been? Do you know what kind of canopy training I have had and from whom? Do you know that I have a coach, a dz staff member, watch and critique just about every flight under canopy and every landing I make under this 210? Do you also know that I have made checklists for myself, based on Bill Von's and Brian Germain's list of canopy skills and I regularly practice the skill sets from these checklists under canopy? As I said earlier, I spend almost as many jumps pulling above 10k on this canopy as I do making regular skydives, just to perfect my flying under this wing.Quote You are right, I do not know your history or how you fly a canopy. But I do know that the manufacture states that for your experience level the MOW for a 210 Fusion is 179 pounds, not 245 pounds. They go on to say: “Wing loading is truly the key to the flight performance envelope of the Fusion.” and “For the more experienced skydivers flying at higher wing loadings.” To put this in perspective, Precision’s maximum wing loading for a 210 Fusion is 1.23:1. My guess is they know a great deal more than you about how to safely fly one of their canopies. You are not the first one I have heard this from and you won’t be the last. Keep in mind, high performance canopy is a relative term. And people with thousands of jumps have died under high performance canopies. And not one of these deaths can be blamed on the canopy. The canopy just does what it is told to do. All you have to do is be smart enough to tell it to do the right thing at the right time, every time. -
Until just recently I worked in the parachute testing field and we often used out of date cypress for planned delayed deployment. We would buy them for $80 which is the trade in value I think. As far as selling it or giving it, that is your call.

Famous last words.

The fill time on that little toy parachute was so small if they didn't put that big apex vent on it could be really bad. But with such a large vent it came out of the sky like a man whole cover. So they compromised and put on the “cats eye”. As I am sure you know, when dealing with anything, parachutes more than most everything is a trade off. The last KXX I packed I could swear I could read the paper through it. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

G. MINIMUM OPENING ALTITUDES [E] Minimum container opening altitudes above the ground for skydivers are: 1. Tandem jumps–4,500 feet AGL 2. All students and A-license holders–3,000 feet AGL 3. B-license holders–2,500 feet AGL 4. C- and D-license holders–2,000 feet AGL Its not when you pull, but when your container opens.

Nothing as far back as WWII but I have jumped the NB-6, NB-8, BA-22, all with C-9 28' flat. A couple different configurations of the T-10, a 24’ flat chest pack. The MT-XX and MT-1XS. And the new Navy/AF air crew system the Thin Pack.

Never heard of it, who makes it? My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

It works like a cat’s eye apex vent or a rubber vent ring. During the deployment when the pressure in the apex region gets too high it opens and “vents” the pressure. Then after deployment it closes off to increase drag. If you remember on the Navy Con. You could pull the vent cap down over the vent hem to straiten the apex and apex lines. Then pull it back up with just the bridle poking out. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Is it really necessary the FS1 b4 you freefly?

No matter what type of jump you do, when the fun is over you return to your "belly fly" postion to pull. And its at this time you had better have your shit together because fun time is over. Its time to take care of busness. -

One thing they did say on their web site that you either didn't see or chose to ignore was that with an exit weight of 240-250 pounds you should be an expert canopy pilot. With 68 jumps their recommended MOW is 179 pounds. Why worry about anything else they might have to say about the canopy, generally speaking. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
No more calls, we have a winner. With out the apex vent round canopies would be a nightmare during inflation. If they don't come apart from over pressure they tent to set up a rock and roll oscillation that will make you sick enough to puke. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

oops. Thanks Professor. Some of the best times I ever had in this sport were at the Freak Brothers Conventions. bozo FB 2186 Never been to a Freak Brothers Convention never will go to one.
