Well, I figured you would know! I had the manual open when I posed the question, because 115 fps seemed a little high. I'll agree that it's hard to get a road-bound automobile into a descent with a 45 mph vertical component. Mark 45 mph is 66 fps and a Pro is 78 mph which gives the 115 fps the same as a Tandem.

And if you bridle hangs up on the "great pin protection"? We have gotten so good at protecting the pin we are at risk of trapping the bridle on every jump. I did not say that good bridle protection is risky you did. I referred to pin protection. It is just my gut feeling; I have no data other than what I have observed. The curved pin that is used through out the industry today takes very little force to lift and extract from the loop. But we seem to be having a higher incidence of PCIT. While some of this increase can be attributed to a PC in the burble and other forms of hesitation it is my feeling that some of the true PCIT situations are due to the “pin protection” features of the rig trapping the bridle and preventing it from pulling the pin. On most rigs this can happen if the packer is just a little sloppy in routing the bridle from the bag to the pin. I am no longer in a position to test my theory but it is something to think about. -
you can do it in the air too with time and no traffic Trying to do rigging in the air is a sure way to end up on a slab. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Down load a copy of this from USPA web site and highlight the sections I have in bold. When you show the other paper work to the screener have this on to. It has been my experience that they will look no further. Problems? Skydivers encountering problems with screeners should request that the screener's supervisor become involved. Skydivers should insist that the supervisor review " Chapter Section 17.2 of Version 4.0 of the Screening Checkpoint Standard Operating Procedure." Skydivers encountering unsatisfactory treatment should contact USPA at 703-836-3495 ext. 325 or e-mail us. Be ready to provide the airport, date and time of flight, airline and flight number, and names of TSA officials involved. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

To the OP, all rigs are pretty much the same thing with different cosmetics. Try as many as you can and pick the one that seems the best to you. -
Do either of you know what the vertical speed should be for Vigil activation in student mode? Mark Fire at 1040 feet if going faster than 45 mph. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

This just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. You do not have the knowledge or experience to be jumping a 135 anything. There are more things to consider than just wing loading. You would be much smarter to start with a 150 or even a 170 and learn the basics of canopy control. This will allow you make the mistakes and you will make mistakes, on a canopy that allows more time to react and save your self. Like I said this is just my opinion and you will probably go with what you like anyway. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Eloy doesn't have team rooms?

If it's not about enough jumps why did you bring it up. You had to have known the reaction it would get. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

"We can not bring in any more due to the city code. " I think if you go back and read the thread you will find that she did not say "without bringing any in". My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Wrong, it was a Marine that attacked one of the planes and broke it. The plane was just minding its own business and pow. Besides, we needed to take a break, I was tired.

my wife got ripped off 3 years ago w/ a rig

You bought the rig 3 years ago and let you wife jump without knowing what it was? I would say this is the worst case of "buyer beware" I have ever seen. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
That is not a landing, that is a crash you were able to walk away from.

what's happend to the wingsuit with no parachute?
mjosparky replied to honeyjigga's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Quote"If Jeb lands the wing-suit without a parachute and survives—he is going to be my hero," added Cani. He would not only be a hero he would have rewritten the laws of physics. You are dealing with a freefall speed of lets say 120 mph. Now the slower you go down the faster you go across. But no matter how you cut it there is still a 120 mph speed component you have to deal with. A wing suit flyer is leading with his face and chest. You can land on a steep slope or no slope at all, that energy is still going to be there at the moment of touchdown. Now there may be some mysterious element of this thing that I am missing, but landing with just a wing suit is really going to hurt. If he uses some sort of undercarriage or landing gear then he is not landing a wing suit is he? Of course is someone wanted to do it bad enough he could do it tomorrow, no problem. He just wouldn’t be able to do it the next day. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

Precision Aerodynamics - Thanks George, Beverly and Crew
mjosparky replied to djurbanski's topic in Gear and Rigging
If they made a Stellar 135, which they don’t, loading it at 1.52 would give an exit weight of 205 pounds. A Stellar 140, which they do make, has a maximum exit weight of 168 pounds for a loading of 1.2. A loading of 1.52 is almost 20% over what the maker of the canopy says in smart. While I agree with you that djurbanski is playing a dangerous game with his choice of canopies, I personally don’t know anyone that has any business under a reserve canopy at that loading. Just something to think about. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Years ago I was one of the S&TA's at Perris and signed Gary Cobb off for his Pro Rating. He did 6 of the 10 required accuracy jumps with his canopy hooked up backwards. He started a group called “Backwards CREW” and got his 4 stack, 8 stack and CCS awards with the canopy hooked up backwards. He moved to OZ in the mid to late 80’s. Not too mention, a place where we can critique video. So you're telling me the city won't let you bring in temp trailers? Then how did Perris get away with it? And for all the other posters, lets keep this to the on the subject. Please only post if you have less posts than jumps! I have way more posts than I have jumps. What is your point? I case you haven’t noticed posting is much easier than jumping and not as expensive. I am also not trying to find a trailer this late in the game. As someone posted Eloy is not Perris. Do you think maybe they might have different City Councils making the rules? After working at the last 2 nationals one thing I noticed. The top teams are always on time, always ready to jump and don’t sit around bitching. And I will post anything anywhere I want as long as I don’t piss off a greenie. And I have known to do that. Now you all enjoy the competition. My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
