  1. I don't think the fact that it was certified under TSO-C23c is an issue. It is size vs experience. Cat. A is tested to 300 lb. at 150 kts. for a certified weight of 198 lb. at 130 kts. TSO-C23d is tested to a minimum of 264 lb. at 180 kts. for a certified weight of 220 lb. at 150 kts. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  3. Out of 130 jumps how many do you think are on a F-111 type 7 cell? Sparky How many jumpers have any non reserve jumps on a F-111 7 cell??? I have a few...but I'd bet most that started within the last 10 years do not. My point exactly. This jumper has 130 jumps and his reserve will be loaded to within 5 lb. of the manufactures listed max. How long is it going to take for us to connect the dots between low time jumper, little canopies and fatalities? What the hell do I care, he is going to buy it anyway. 9. I think USPA has answered that question loud and clear by their actions. Nothing has been enacted in the last few years that were directed at benefiting the average week end jumper. They are by far the largest group of dues paying members but the BOD seem to direct all of their energies toward supporting the Group Members, i.e. DZ’s, and high profile competitors. They are involved in a nasty law suit because of actions taken against SR. It made them appear to be functioning a Trade Organization. Now SR has a pretty good case against USPA for violation of the Sherman Act. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  13. You are a piece of work. You will identify the guy you bought the canopy from on a public forum but you won’t identify yourself. You are only willing to give information that makes you feel good, how about the whole story. 17 years in the sport and this is the best you can do. You can’t be serious. 15. Having jumped there since the late 70's I was aware of that. And it still has always be an RW dropzone. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

  19. But it wasn't "any rig" it was a Vector III with a Skyhook. It would be impossible to foresee every potential scenario when developing and testing a rig. As is often the case some situations are only discovered at the cost of a life. In this case a cheap price was paid to discover a potential problem. This would be a real good time to give it a look and maybe avert a more costly lesson. jmo Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
  20. I am not sure how you came to this conclusion. Do you have a link to video that can show this phoneme taking place? Are you referring to what is called bag strip? I can think of only 2 situations that would cause the pilot chute to strip all the line stows and pull the bag off the canopy leaving it in the container. One would be a pilot chute so big as to have unbelievable drag and the other would a deployment speed about 180 or so. But having deployed at 180 KEAS at an altitude of 22,000 feet I have doubts that would do it. Again I would like to see some documentation on you belief. 21. And you know this because you hold a Senior Rigging Cert. in back, chest, seat and lap and rated as a Jumpmaster in AFF and Tandem. With kind of stuff in your profile it is hard to take you seriously. If you think about how a harness fits, if it is tight fitting while in a seated position it would be real hard to stand upright while wearing it. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
