I think you are wrong on this point. The unemployment rate is at its highest in something like 30/40 years. Many of my neighbors are looking for any kind of a job to pay the rent and feed the baby. This is not directed toward the OP because I do not know his intentions. There is one point that people seem to pass over. It is against the law for foreign nationals to visit the US on a tourist visa and then start working. It is also against the law for the employer to hirer him/her and again it is against the law to pay them “under the table” regardless of nationality. Where do you draw the line about turning a blind eye because they are part of the “community of skydiving”? Tax fraud, car thief or maybe armed robbery? We are a society of laws that is becoming more and more lawless. Do we let people obey only those laws that are convenient or that they agree with? Do you think “accountability” is only for other then our group? Do you think that this attitude is part of the problem or part of the solution? It’s all about payback. When I first started there were people willing to burn a jump ticket on me in an effort to make me better jumper. They never yelled at me or talked down to me. This might be the time to let sleeping dogs lie. Any action by the local jumpers should first be geared toward improving relations between the town and the DZ. If you run the history of what started the animosity it is a good bet the jumpers are far from blameless. Jumpers are usually their own worst enemy.
