And don't you wish you could be one? Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I actually have a bunch of my old BDU's from service and even some of my old blue BDU's trousers from my time with NYPD but was looking for something a bit tougher than standard ripstop. Those are badass looking! And they come in regular ranger OD green! Ordering them in the morning! You are the man! Well I figure Im up to 38 jumps now. Time for a sub-100 main. Trust my rear risers and never give up the gates! Here is one made out of the same Mil-Spec 50/50 NYCO ripstop material but over $100 cheaper. But it’s your money. don't have to buy beer after 1000 jumps?
mjosparky replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually that attitude pisses me off to be honest. I'm all for beer fines and rules. Not everyone is rolling in cash and hitting up innocent novices/students every time they blink for a carton is just greedy. Sadly I see too many people who think that the new(er) members of the sport are their free beer fund. I'm at a point where to be honest I buy beer simply because it has been a while and I've had lots of free beer. To me beer rules are there to celebrate major accomplishments or infringements. I've got a friend who works in the sport who religiously puts on a carton for every 100 jumps - at $70 a carton (local rates) that is a significant portion of her income and I strongly disagree with it. Also if people are going to drink the free beer GIVE back to the sport, actually get off your backside and do a 'freebie' jump or give advice - don't just leech off the newbies (not directed at you BV) And that is one of the big differences in the sport today. Back in the day no one was pressured to buy beer and they were just a welcome in the group without it. Weather it is beer or root beer floats the goal is the same. The noob gets to meet the other jumpers, friend ships were made and bonds were built. Information was passed along and knowledge was given and learned. It made the noob feel part of the group. Today the noobs can't be bothered and they get their feeling hurt if they are not patted on the head and told how wonderful they are. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -
Having blood rush to one's head doesn't make one faint. It might be uncomfortable and distracting but there's no fainting involved, which is normally about lack of blood flow. Adding multiple negative G's is tough, and aerobatic pilots have to acclimatize themselves to it, but negative G on its own doesn't cause fainting. Kids can hang upside down from monkey bars in the playground, and they don't all faint and fall. If one doesn't notice something in freefall it would be because one is really focused on other things -- just like there are times when one hardly notices the wind noise (or one's dirt alert...) in freefall. The 'red head' comment is interesting. Don't know to what degree that applies. Just guessing, but possibly body movement in freefall or tunnel helps promote circulation and reducing blood pooling. And like manseman said, if one is doing a hand stand, especially if not used to doing it a lot, the high muscle tension may cause one to increase pressure in the head too, just when one should be relaxing as much as possible to avoid adding blood pressure at the head. If you start pulling heavy negative G’s you can go into what is called a redout This is where blood rushes to your head under pressure. It can cause retinal damage, stroke and may lead to loss of consciousness. G-LOC. Sparky http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_out My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

I like your analogy. I had a Honda Metropolitan over the summer. Jap bike? Rice burner? Better my sister in a whorehouse than my brother on a Honda! You Harley guys are a riot!! Does Harley make a scooter? Yes and this is mine.

Skydiving after total Knee replacement

Bob Celaya did it just in the last few months. And that turd is 70 years old. -
Go with a 190 and get some coaching. Be careful of peer pressure to down size for the sake of downsizing. People who say get bored with their canopy after just a few jumps are fooling themselves. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

You just don't get it. Sparky Yeah, I do. I just choose not to drink. When the beer light comes on, & people start getting loud N goofy. I head for the car. As a non-drinker, I simply don't like being around that. I've noticed a number of jump buddies at my main DZ who feel the same way. Boozin & loud music isn't for everybody. I don't begrudge the drinkers their fun. I even kick in a case of Heineken, periodically. I don't like the effects of alcohol on my body. Simple as that. But, feel free to take another cheap shot at me, Sparkplug. It seems to be all you have in you. I would've thought the sting from our run-in 3+ yrs ago would've worn off for you. I guess not... I didn’t say anything about “Boozen and loud music”. It’s about your failure to understand the purpose behind the whole beer rule thing. As for the sting, there never was any…..I just don’t like you and your attitude. Now if you get off on bring up something that happened 3 years ago go for it. Yes I did mean cu. instead of sq. Thanks for catching that. I checked 2 different sources and they both came up with the same numbers. Now I can’t be sure if one didn’t copy the other but one originated in Europe and the other in the US. See attachment. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

Sounds to me you have 2 choices, get off the dime and start jumping or buy a bowling ball. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals -

Aviacom SA had 4 incidents of the cutter failing to completely cut the loop in a 12 month period. Aviacom SA has been banned by the following: Australian Parachute Federation British Parachute Federation Dutch Parachute Federation New Zealand Parachute Industry Association Parachute Association of South Africa At least 14 manufactures of container/harness systems banned the use of Argus in the gear. This link will give you an idea of the problem http://www.pia.com/TechnicalSpecialPage.htm Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

That is a very good question, and I don't know the answer to it. Maybe USPA is just using what record types are already out there already. I guess they can't include every type of record, but that would be a good one to add. Actually it is done that way to piss off the cry babies. Sparky My idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals

To the trained eye, it is fossil pollen, Sparky. Not dust. Don't you dare say "dust". 9 years of college and grad school, buddy. 9 YEARS. I study fossil pollen. Got it? I didn't say dust these losers did. I know better.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/mounteverest/10664395/Daredevil-to-jump-off-summit-of-Mount-Everest.html Didn't Valery Rozov already wingsuit down everest? It seems it has been done. But now the pissing contests to see who was the highest. Wikipedia says 7220 meters is 23,690 feet but it is really 28,452.
