  1. Anyone know if the Smithsonian museums are open tomorrow? I'm planning on heading to the new Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, but if it's closed, well... - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. Vectran's claim to fame, I believe, is that it does not shrink. Spectra, on the other hand, does. Vectran has a nasty habit of simply snapping when it's reached the end of it's useful life. Spectra does not. People claim that it's impossible to know when Vectran will snap. People need to become more educated about the material and know what to look for. In my limited experience though, Vectran shows very definite signs of wear. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  4. Well said. As I mentioned in another post, CrossKeys has gone to great lengths to ensure good will between the DZ and the local community; I believe that every dropzone should do the same. It pays off in more ways than most people could probably imagine, it really really does. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  5. http://www.aire-express.com/ They've got a Porter, and a few Caravans available. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. On the other hand, it may be exactly the opposite. I'm not saying that it is, how would I know? Only that it might be. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  7. 10 people on the tailgate with nobody else in the plane is fun. If you hold it there for a few, you'll get a few zero g rides, then, if you exit at just the right time, you can watch the plane flip over. Oops. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. $20.00 only goes so far, huh? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  10. You should be able to use your own rig, after all, you're opening at the normal altitude. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  11. Reading the title, I didn't think you were talking about Valentine's day. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  12. I went through two pair of vans a few seasons ago. My latest pair of DCs has lasted through 1 entire season and they're just waiting for the next one. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  13. Rule #1 in any project: GET REQUIRMENTS. Is that the black woman who get bent out of shape about the "pot calling the kettle black" remark? She's an idiot. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  14. Neither do the freestyle, skysurf, and style and accuracy folks. I suspect that there isn't enough general interest in those disciplines to warrant an additional forum. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  16. I like Evolution, unfortunately the client only runs on Unix and they don't seem to have a server. I should have mentioned, that the desktops will be Windows machines. I'll check out Mozilla though. Thanks for the help. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  17. Question. Will Halbutron and/or the Administration be blasted every time Halbutron gets a government contract as long as the Republican's are in office? If yes, why? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  18. I've got a request to bring email in house for some friends. I could take the simple route and setup a Unix box and POP3 or IMAP, but they'd be happier I think if we could setup something similar to Exchange. Specifically looking for a calendaring system. We're going to run Postfix/SpamAssassin to harvest mail from the internet/intranet, but how to get it to the desktop and present it to the user is the big question. Ideas? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  19. PayPal, CitiBank, eBay, etc... There's not a reputable online merchant that will request personal information, especially credit card info, through email. Be safe, not sorry. When you receive an email from a reputable firm asking for personal information either delete it, or call the customer service center for the company in question. If it was a legit request, the customer service center can help, if not, you've just saved yourself a world of headache. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  20. I'm going to preface this post with "I can't believe I'm watching this crap, but I am". I thought that the women's ad campaign was sweet, the men's was bland. About Sam, what's Trump got up his sleeve? Hopefully a big fuckin' beat down stick. That guy is a whiny little bitch boy. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  23. It is absolutely something that CK needs to worry about. The DZO at CK has gone out of his way, I believe, to form a strong, positive, relationship with the community. We support the local FD, police department, invite the neighbors to the DZ and more. I'm pretty sure that there is a reason for this. A positive contribution to the community goes a long way towards ensuring good will. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  24. Is that your exit weight? If not, add about 25 lbs to that number to come with an exit weight of 188 and a wingload of 1.56 on the Sabre and about 1.25 on the Pilot. The wingload on the Pilot is pretty extreme at your level and absolutely INSANE on the Sabre. Hope you've got good medical insurance and lots of free time. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  25. Currently I'm a Unix guy, in my next career I'd like to be a Columbian drug lord. Finally, I'd get to kill all the people who piss me off. I think it would be fun. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
