  1. Then perhaps they should stop acting like children. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  2. It is to the Israelis. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  3. And now we're back to why. What have they got to hide? (I'd be asking the same question if it were a Republican fundraiser that got such awful press.) If they do have something to hide then maybe they shouldn't be doing that, or condoning that type of behaviour. Now I'm repeating myself (and it seems that you are too), looks like this one is about done. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  4. 1) I think that the transcripts should be made public unless there is a compelling need to keep them secret. I can't think of a reasonable one. 2) Both deserve scrutiny. However, when evaluating character, I don't know that one is more important or unimportant than the other. They're all part of a larger picture. 3) Let's get back to talking about the subject at hand, in this case, the release of the tape of the Kerry/Edwards fundraiser (Quade, so far, has provided the only legitimate reason to keep it out of the public eye). - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 5. Probably not, but Kerry and Edwards are. Is this the type of event and more importantly, behaviour, that they condone? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  6. I'm not naive. I don't expect that it would happen, however, as a matter of decency and forthcomingness (is that a word?) I would expect it to be released. The point is, if you're out to represent me then don't go places and do things that you're not so proud of. Probably not. However, I'm not running for public office and as such I am not putting my character on the line as a reason that you should vote for me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 7. I don't think conspiracy as most here would define it, however I don't understand why they won't release it. Kerry and Edwards were seen laughing at the jokes and having a good time. What have they got to hide? I would expect the same of a republican fundraiser if people wanted to see it. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  8. Sorry, I can't find anything referencing the big "C", I really do think though that I read something about that after the event. Anyhow, in the absense of the specific example I mentioned most of the articles I've read do make a point similar to this: Reports of Whoopi Goldberg making vulgar sexual references to President Bush's name, among other crude comments, offended many Republicans. As to finding a transcript, I don't think it's going to happen. I just happened to stumble across this: (CNSNews.com) - The John F. Kerry campaign says no, it will not even consider a Republican request to release a videotape of a recent Democrat fundraiser -- until the Bush administration releases "several documents...relating to the president's performance in office." Ever since last week's Hollywood-heavy, Bush-bashing fundraiser in New York City, Republicans have demanded that the Kerry campaign release a videotape of actress Whoopi Goldberg and others lambasting the president -- sometimes in vulgar terms. My quotes came from Crosswalk.com. I know nothing about it's political leanings, it's simply where I decided to stop looking for references to back up my earlier claim. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 9. Whoopie, I believe. At the recent fund raiser in NYC. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  10. OK, I can agree with that. What is the proper time to refer to GWB as a c#nt? Any person for that matter. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  12. Or it shows just how dumb some people can really be. I don't see F9/11 as a movie that's going to really change any thinking man's mind, no matter what side of the political fence he calls home. What do I see however is a movie that probably will (and has) changed the minds of those too lazy to go out and read, absorb, and understand current world events. I see it as a movie that will motivate those too stupid or lazy to have an opinion of their own, those who want their news and opinions to be spoon fed to them. From what I understand (I haven't seen it) it's a movie that plays heavily on emotion. That's sort of thing usually doesn't last. I see it as a movie that will have little effect if it's gone from the theatres by November. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  14. You keep saying that you should have done this, you should have done that - Did HE check the pin on the ground? His gear is his responsibility. It's nice that you warned him that the pin looked short, but if didn't take your warning to heart, well, that's not your problem. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 15. No surprises here. Your Personal issues Score is 80%. Your Economic issues Score is 80%. Note: I agree entirely with the other posters comments that this test seems a little simple. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  19. Probably because Isreal doesn't have a history of sponsoring terrorism and murdering its own citizens whole towns at a time. I can't recall (and I could very well be wrong) ever taking away a nations ability to defend itself. Stripping a country of weapons of mass destruction and long range missiles doesn't prevent that company from defending itself - it does make it damn difficult for that country to wage war on another though. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. 20. What if she had said that followed with - "Ha! What a joke that would be!" It's still what she said, but with an entirely different meaning. It seems that MM is quite familiar with that tactic. Getting people to think is a good thing. Getting people to think by feeding them a foundation of lies, half-truths, and misdirection is a bad thing. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

    Line twists

You were just given one packing issue, stowing the lines - or in this case, too much of them. What else can cause line twists - uneven inflation of the canopy (which possibly could be the result of packing), body position, harness fit, the list goes on. If you can get someone to video your openings that would be helpful. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  22. Are gangs themselves a federal problem, or are they something that should be dealt with at the state level? Certainly some of the crimes committed by gangs are federal crimes, but other people with no gang affiliation commit these crimes too. Personally, I think this is an issue that ought to be left to the individual states, or even cities. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
  23. The 10 second rule, as I remember it being explained, wasn't so much "don't touch for 10 seconds", as much as it was "the canopy should be in full flight for 10 seconds to achieve the best possible landing". I think it's possible to make minor adjustments for the sake of accuracy or not crashing into one of your friends without drastically changing the flight characteristics of your canopy. Yeah, I know this all goes to shit when we start talking about high performance landings. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

  25. Christ - this thread started out in TB as a JOKE. A funny funny - hey, let's all have a laugh. I doubt it even existed in TB for more than 10 minutes before being moved over here. Are we THAT sensitive to ANYTHING that has even the mere hint of politics? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
