Define 'hurting' as you've used it here. Is it causing bodily harm, or making someone sad? So you vote Democrat? Not as long as people hold that attitude, they don't. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

What happens when an Iraqi tries to fire a bazooka towards Americans?
Jimbo replied to NicoNYC's topic in Speakers Corner
I agree that those who advocate war and violence in any form shouldn't hide from it; absolutely. I also agree that those who advocate non-violence at any costs shouldn't hide from it either. Violence is a part of our reality, and one that must dealt with. Before it can be dealt with it must be understood. Before it can be understood it needs to be experienced. Agreed. 100% Prevent violence, or prevent people from seeing it? As I said above, I think it's important for everyone to see it - not all day long, not every day, but to hide from it as though it doesn't exist doesn't seem right either. As far as preventing it, figure out a realistic way to do so and I'll back you all the way. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -

Can you really know how horrible it is if you haven't experienced it? If you haven't experienced it then I think the next closest thing is to see it. Right? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. -
I agree. I don't think that we shouldn't be critical of what goes on in the US - we should, absolutely; however, like GM suggested, to deflect criticism of the UN by playing the "We do it, too" card is cheap. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Proves nothing. Neither do any of the other statistics you've posted. Why not focus on what matters - ACT/SAT test scores, college admissions, etc . . . Not particularly. Your argument reminds of the non-USPA DZs aren't as safe as USPA DZs debate. I'm not suggesting that you are wrong in your assumptions, rather that the information you presented does nothing to prove your case. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. Make it clicky, DAMNIT! What? You WANT to show up for work every day? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Nope. Never heard of it. I've been too busy shooting my guns, eating McDonald's, and drinking beer to pay any attention to the news. What's Agent Orange? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Racers are death traps! I thought everyone knew that. I'm not a rigger and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. So, whatcha gonna do now? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Interesting. The company I work for is considering moving their managed web hosting to CSC. Anyone got experience as a CSC (formerly Genuity) client? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I think that's a load of crap. The smaller canopy, just before you add that final input to come to a stop, is going just as slowly as the larger canopy would. That statement is right up there with "you have to hook it to land it", I just don't buy it. I guess it's half right - it will certainly be faster. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Yes, they do. Do you know why? - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

This is a new one, I think. Got that when trying to post a message to Speakers Corner. After a reload/resubmit information, the system responded with a 'message already posted' error. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Only if they want to be elected again. Otherwise, I think they're pretty much free to do what wish, at least within the bounds of the law. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I agree, you should call the bank and at least ask for an explanation or clarification of the policy. They'll more than likely waive the fee, but don't count on that as a rule. Most banks will tell you to go pound sand if you abuse their generousity. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

That's funny, but doubtful. The French tend to mind their own business, for the most part. They have, as near as I can tell, never played a significant role in world politics and I suspect that they have no desire to do so. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

I can agree with that a bit more, but then why not just call it what it is, terrorism? Call it terrorism, apply a strict set of circumstances that absolutely must be met, and punish those found guilty to the full extent of the law. In many of the 'hate crime' cases I've read about it seems that the prosecutors have used the statute when they can't otherwise make their case. As far as inciting others to commit similar crimes, I don't buy that - but I will agree with your terrorism motive. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Please explain. Because honestly, I see this as just another liberal contradiction. We want equality, we want our own special rules. Doesn't make sense to me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Hate crime legislation makes it easier for the government to establish motive, that's about all I can think of. Personally, I'm with you - doesn't matter if it's black on white, white on black, gay on straight, straight on gay, etc. . . crime is crime and ought to be treated as such. The idea that 'hate' crimes are somehow more heinous than others sickens me. - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

Funny you say that, because last night I was thinking that many of the people eager to excuse the UN, or suppress the book right off the bat are the same people who want all the juicy details of everything that the current administration has done. Oh well, back to my lunch. . . - Jim "Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.
